Worst service I’ve ever experienced at a pharmacy. Had a problem with prescription renewal and tried to call for 2 days. No one answers the phone. Pathetic. Then you go to the store for help and there are 15-20 people in a half hour line blocking shoppers from several displays. Pathetic. The place is in severe need of a new owner or management team. Ugh.

Pharmacy rarely answers the phone, medications getting filed in a timely manner is hit or miss, and the lines are almost always long. Staff is nice and helpful, but the place is very poorly run. With Bend Oregon have a retired population of around 25% and the store being on the most affluent side of town, meaning lots of old and young folks are getting medications (because of good access to healthcare), I don't understand why the pharmacy tries to server as many folks as possible with the smallest staff they can get away with. There is also a University across the street. The demand in the area is so high, I just don't understand why they will not add staff.

Never answer the phone. My doctor said he sent in the prescription order twice. I call in to see if it is ready but no answer after ten attempts during the day. I will need to take an hour or so off work just to go down there and ask a simple question. Zero stars if I could.

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever seen

I will never be stepping foot in this Safeway again. I had a flu vaccination appointment scheduled for 5:30pm and was not seen until well over an hour later. This was, without a doubt, the most unprofessional and disorganized healthcare experience I have ever encountered.
After checking in, I was taken with a few others into a small back room with chairs for patients awaiting vaccines. This room had a closed door, and the staff simply forgot we were back there. The man previously administering shots muttered something under his breath and left shortly after I sat down. At first, I thought he was on a short break, but he never came back. After waiting far too long, I went to the main pharmacy counter and alerted someone (who I believe was the pharmacist). He seemed shocked to discover there were still people waiting in the back. Only then did I learn that the vaccinator had left because he wasn’t going to be paid overtime. He told one technician, but she never informed anyone else or checked on us.
Instead of apologizing, the staff began blaming each other, and one woman mocked me for politely mentioning that patients were still waiting. This is despite the fact that I had already waited far longer than most people would before saying anything. This same woman then, with no visible ID badge, came to administer the vaccines. As a healthcare worker myself, I was alarmed by her conduct. She admitted that the previous vaccinator “does a much better job” than she does (a very unprofessional thing to say to patients). Even worse, I realized she put on gloves without washing her hands or using sanitizer.
It was unclear whether she was a pharmacist or a technician, as she wore no identification. I could not confirm whether she was even qualified to independently administer vaccines. What concerns me most is that she appeared to give vaccinations without a pharmacist present. I found that Oregon law (House Bill 2486, ORS 689.645) clearly states that a pharmacy technician may only administer vaccines under the supervision of a pharmacist, and that was not happening here.
From start to finish, this experience was unacceptable. Patients were forgotten in a back room, communication was nonexistent, basic hygiene protocols were ignored, and no one took accountability. I left feeling disrespected, unsafe, and appalled. I will never return to this pharmacy and strongly recommend that others look elsewhere for their care.

They do not answer the phone. Physician call-ins are not filled the same day. No way to run a pharmacy where folks depend on medications.

Hardly EVER answer there phone. States online lunch is 1:30. I called from 1230 to 1:15 and never got a single answer. Insane.
UPDATE: Then went in to location twice. Just like always only ONE miserable person working to help 10+ people in line.(dont blame her) why multiple people working and only ONE gal helping customers get there meds!? Crazy. Just like everyone else says expect at least to wait 30 minutes or more if you want your meds at the location

Unbelievably slow. The pharmacy is seriously understaffed. Be prepared to wait an hour at least. What kind of management understaffs a pharmacy to this degree?

I had an important prescription filled 1 time without issue and then when I went to the app to fill the next month, they said the script was expired BUT it wasn’t and had several refills approved (which was confirmed with my doctor). Then they asked me to request a new script which I did and have called repeatedly to try to get someone on the phone about status but each time I’ve called (which is now well over a dozen across several days) I get a voicemail which asks me to call back at another time.
This is beyond frustrating and easily the worst pharmacy experience ai have ever had and I am two weeks late on a weekly medication which is critical to my Type Diabetes care.

For a large pharmacy, this place is great! Service is wonderful, they actually answer their phone, and they are able to get prescriptions that local pharmacies don't contract for. The line can be crazy long at times, but it moves fast, can be avoided by doing some shopping while you wait, or by coming at times that aren't so busy.

Consistently misplaces my prescription, always disorganized in the pharmacy, no matter how many or little people working the line can take up to an hour. Which is frustrating when you get up to the counter, and they don’t have your script. All the staff is kind which makes up for the experience as much as it can!

The pharmacist was the rudest! Wouldn't answer my questions and was defensive (for no reason) right off the bat. 3 times going in and they finally had my daughters medication and when I asked a question about administration she was absolutely so rude and then just walked away. Bad day? Who knows but extremely unprofessional and someone this rude has zero business dealing with customers. I had a smile on my face when she approached and left completely the opposite! The lady that rang me up was lovely though.

I've had a good experience at this pharmacy, after trying different pharmacies around town. I don't enjoy getting shots, but they have a person that is so good at it that I don't mind. Their pharmacy staff are competent, professional, and friendly during every interaction. I'm really thankful that Bend has a good pharmacy like this one. Yes, sometimes the wait is longer than I'd like, but it's worth it to receive competent, friendly care. Thanks Safeway Pharmacy staff!
