I think this is the best cheap motel in town. Have stayed here twice, good experiences both times. Clean rooms, helpful owners, they were very helpful with a special request I had at the last visit. Everything works.Negatives? Well, nearly everything works - the tv remote on which every button seemed to "double tap" when you pressed it??? Clearly it wasn't a big deal because I didn't mention it to the owner. The bathroom had no vent fan which left it really steamy, but again not a big deal. The deposit they request is just that; a deposit. It gets refunded / credited after your stay - no big deal.I'd stay there again for sure.

Ok I'm frugal. When I shop for a hotel, price is a big part of my decision. So when we booked a room at Sonoma Lodge in Bend Oregon (August of 2016) I thought I'd found a good value. But when we arrived I was informed that the price was more than quoted. I couldn't believe it, a classic bait and switch. When I questioned them on this they just kept repeating you can cancel the room for free.To their credit they did provide a roll away bed for my 6yo which was nice.

I made a reservation in advance. I was quoted $57 a night. When I arrived the price was $99 night + $50 refundable deposit. They already had my CC# from the reservation and said they would charge me whether i stayed or not. Having not the time to argue or find another room I stayed the 2 days. The room was ok for a low end motel... some peeling paint, stains here and there, but otherwise, ok. The back parking lol (dirt) however, was carpeted in cigarette butts, much of that left by the maintenance. On checkout, they refused to refund my deposit and said it would appear on my card in 2 days. They only refunded back $35 2 days later, even though i left the immaculate .They use bait and switch marketing tactics and lack any ethical compass when it comes to business. They are rip offs...

Front desk person Getah very helpful. Close to town, housekeeping does a good job. Always book by phone, not online.

I don't know what I expected from my first time coming here but I feel like my gut always veered me in other directions for reasons. It isn't bad but it doesn't have things that would make me remember it other than feeling uncomfortable with the vibe I get. It's tucked away in plain sight and makes me feel like when I'd drive through Lynnwood in California. While I know nothing bad is going to happen I still have this unsettling feeling. If you're a gamer like myself don't bother with bringing your connections or console. It's like the televisions are glued to the wall and the remote doesn't let you change the input.Rooms: Listen... you get what you pay for here. It's what I would imagine sober living to be? Never been to one of those places but that's my first thought. It's not bad but it's also just a room. You know?Noteworthy details: If you're a gamer like myself don't bother with bringing your connections or console. It's like the televisions are glued to the wall and the remote doesn't let you change the input.

Don't bother! This place discriminates against disabled people. My particular disability requires that I have a service dog. We were asked about dogs the instant I entered the lobby and, when I answered yes about requiring a service dog, was told that the motel would not accommodate us and to go elsewhere for lodging. The owner stated he only had two 'disability' rooms which were already booked (nonsence, especially when the rooms are filled on a first-come first-served basis and not held specifically for the disabled). The owner kept referring to the service animals as Pets, at each point I clarified that they were medically necessary like wheelchairs to disabled who cannot walk - no difference to Sonoma Lodge. Their message to me, using different words, was clear - Sonoma Lodge does not serve your kind [disabled with service animals].

I had a guest with a dog. The office staff threatened to charge me $200 for the dog and$20 for each guest. He got in my face and acted like he was going to hit me. This place is a waisted of money and the staff are scary.

My other reservation cancelled on me while I was already headed in from out of town. Sonoma Lodge was able to take me in at midnight with no notice at a great price. The rooms are clean and updated. Would

Terrible experience. I consider myself to be a reasonable and patient customer. Checked in at 145, room was hot. Turned on AC and after 3 hours, AC did nothing but blow warm air. Told front desk person who came down and looked at AC, agreed something was wrong. He called a "technician" who came and told me all the rooms were like that due to warm temps that day. He gave me a fan. I asked folks in 2 adjacent rooms and they stated their rooms were nice and cool. After 4 hours I returned to office to check out at 5. Asked for a refund and was told to call back to speak to management tomorrow. Bad luck and bad service. No apology, notta. Beware!

Wow! Mentioned i had a pet coming with a friend. They said no pets. Ok. Called friend and communicated policy and told staff the pet would not be there. Staff woke me up in the morning asking if i had a pet in the room. Ridiculous and unprofessional. Room smelt like curry. You get what you pay for except i dont recall paying for harassment for a pet that WAS NOT THERE.

Prepare to have your phone blown up all day until you check in at the front desk. The lady that worked the front desk called us like 5+ times about when we were checking in - 0 patience. I wanted to say "we'll get there when we get there, stop calling us". There was hardly any cell service - though that seems true for much of Oregon. The WiFi didn't seem to help much. The room was average at best. I didn't hate the room, but the parking lot was a mess. I had a lady almost hit my car because the parking lot was set up in a weird way. Overall not terrible. I wouldn't be writing a negative review if they didn't call us so many times (voicemails included).
