I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with UPS.
I was supposed to receive an important package today — a framed artwork that needed to be shown at a convention. This wasn’t just any package, it was the work of someone I know from Mexico, and its timely arrival mattered a lot.
The problems started with UPS failing to notify either the sender or me that I would have to pay an extra fee upon delivery. There was no email, no phone call, nothing in advance. Only when the driver showed up did I find out that I needed to pay an additional service charge. How is that acceptable? If you expect customers to pay more, we should be told clearly before the package even arrives, not as a surprise at the door. Otherwise, it feels like holding the product hostage — and frankly, it feels like theft.
Second, the delivery driver’s attitude was completely unprofessional. He showed up, told me I had to pay, and then refused to wait even a few minutes. He just left. So now, I’m stuck without the package I urgently needed today. If UPS had simply given me 10 or 20 minutes notice, I could have prepared a check, no problem. But no — they expect customers to magically know about hidden fees in advance and have the exact payment method ready on the spot. And to make matters worse, I couldn’t even pay with card or cash right then.
Later, when I checked the tracking on my phone, the charge finally appeared — but it showed up after the driver had already left. That means I wasted hours trying to contact someone, only to find out my package won’t be delivered until Monday. By then, it’s too late; the convention is ruined.
So, what’s the bottom line? UPS failed at every step:
No advance notice of extra charges.
No flexibility or professionalism from the driver.
No proper system to reflect charges in real-time.
A customer service process that wastes hours of people’s time.
This is the last time I will ever use UPS for international shipments. They charge hidden fees, provide poor communication, and ultimately leave their customers stranded. To anyone reading this: if you’re considering UPS for international shipping, don’t. UPS is unreliable, unprofessional, and simply not worth the risk.

$2.99 minimum to print one label is downright criminal

This review is specifically for Jen - the store manager of this UPS Store. My dad got into a a huge accident near Bend and he had 5 boxes of very expensive wine in the car with him. Luckily the wine did not break but we had to get the wine shipped back to us in California from Oregon. Jen probably spent close to 2 hours working with us making sure the wines were properly packed, insured and sent out. She helped us with the boxes and advised us on the safest and most cost effective way to ship the wine. Jen was empathic, kind, and was wonderful all around. We are SUPER grateful for her help. She is a real superstar - thank you Jen!!!!

The young guy who tried to help me clearly doesn’t want to be there and was not nice to work with at all, hardly talked to me and just said “yeah” a bunch and made me feel bad for asking for help. I just needed a box to ship off an item and he walked off to help someone else and wouldn’t explain anything to me, he seemed just as confused himself so I walked out. Everyone else seemed nice but pretty busy so decided not to waste my time!

Walk in with an Amazon return that needs a box, ask Gabriel to scan my code and, instead of scanning, I’m told information I already knew that this item needs a box before even got a word out. Let’s not assume customers are dumb.
Pay $12.05 to buy a box…then I’m told $3.10 for them to put it in that box. Only UPS store I’ve ever been to that charges to touch an item and put it in a box.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences at this UPS location. Today Jen went above and beyond to help me with a 50 lbs return item, complex and required some problem solving. She was pleasant, thoughtful, and didn’t make me feel bad about bringing in something that needed the pro touch. Thanks again team, I don’t mind shipping things now because of your store :)

Over $3 to print a single basic black and white page? You guys are insane.
Nice robo reply... Staples or Office Depot charge less than 25 cents. You're still insane if you think you can charge more than 1200% for the same (actually worse) service.

Don’t get anything printed here. It’s $.19 a page and it does not collate each copy so you need to spend 20 minutes sorting. Really bad service

Staff was completely unhelpful and lacked any mental capacity for abstract thought. A robot could have provided better service. I left without shipping my package and went somewhere else. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

The team here has been fantastic to work with. I had a really important package delivered with expensive shipping insurance and their attention to detail to ensure a good experience, as well as follow up after the delivery, was second to none. Great experience.

UPS local number sends you to an AI assistant. What a waste of time of listing a local number if you are directed to an AI bot then directed overseas (over an hour queue) to a person who barely speaks English. One again, The UPS driver has fraudulently (stolen) not delivered the package although they claim they have. The photo they have is in the back of their truck or in their depo, who knows where. What's the point of having a proof of delivery photo if it's the UPS drivers feet.We have 15 cameras monitoring our property 24x7 and it's not the first time a UPS driver has committed fraud. We are unable to make a complaint with UPS as the UPS site creates an error and says to contact the shipper. The UPS drivers are fully aware of the cameras here but they are not concerned with stealing after speaking with one of them claiming they are never disciplined. What has happened to this country where a once decent carrier service has lost all morals.
