I had semen shipped from ICSB to Southern California. They analyzed the semen as having 90% motility (which, frankly, is not likely) with 246mil sperm. The shipment arrived almost completely dead (30mil at 16% motility). Normally, I might think this was an issue with the stud, but the next day I had a second shipment collected and packed by Dr. Lopate at another facility. The ENTIRE collection survived. When the stud owner relayed our experience at ICSB to Dr. Lopate, she was not in the least surprised. Apparently, ICSB is known for their subpar services.
When I contacted ICSB for a refund, they were dismissive and continuously claimed things that were incorrect, even going as far as to argue with machine-generated analysis (double checked by my board certified therio) of both collections. They insist that this was a clean out collection, and that urine in the semen contributed to the loss. Both are likely true. However, the fact that less than 30mil sperm survived at a 16% motility rate (whereas 730 mil at a 64% rate survived from Lopate) speaks to their incompetence, as well as their refusal to take any responsibility for it. Their contract states that they are not responsible for loss of semen quality, which I understand. It is understandable that there would be some loss. However, from my story and attached photos, I think it’s clear that they are not a reliable service and at least in my case, they were fully responsible. I will never use them again, and will advise every breeder I know to stay away.

Absolutely garbage of a company. Took my dog down to be collected. He went in fine and came out completely in pain. He has had back issues every since that day. They also said he had a low count. took him to a better vet and his count was just fine and he just sired 7 puppies. I should have taken legal action. Anthony Williams

Brought my Wirehaired Dachshund in for his first collection. It was my first experience doing something like this. They came out took my dog did not explain the process and when they brought him back you can tell he was in pain. I called the office and the lady said they had problems with his sheath or something and that he should be fine. Well, this is day 2 and I'm trying to het into my vet because my boy is in pain! This is my first and last time doing this with this poor organization.I do not recommend this company and will pursue legal action if whatever is wrong does not clear up and he is out of pain.Anthony Williams

Was more than disappointed in the service I received at ICSB. The staff was rude and more concerned about collecting my credit card info than in collecting my already proven stud dog. The two staff members who attempted to collect him seemed rushed and non-attentive to his needs. I will not be returning and would encourage others to go elsewhere!

Between ICSB and UPS they lost our tank of semen that was to be sent to Lakewood WA to our veterinarian. We were trying to work with UPS locally, but when asking for some info to be faxed to UPS,ICSB told us that we couldn't try to find the tank that they were handling it. Our tank is only good for 1 more day. It was to be delivered 4 days ago. ICSB rep. told us that this has happened before. What ICSB and UPS have told us are totally 180 degrees apart. ICSB doesn't understand who the customer actually is. If using this location get ready for a nightmare. You will get it.
