I’ve lived in Boring for going on 5 years in a community that has grouped mailboxes like those you’d find at an apartment complex. I have had repeated and concerning issues with mail I sent via the outgoing mail slot not being delivered and not being returned to me, although I put my return address on each mailing.
Each time my mail has been “lost,” it has been addressed to government agencies. The first time this happened was when I mailed a property tax payment to the Clackamas County Assessment and Taxation Department. Four weeks later, my check had still not been cashed, so I contacted the department who said they never received it. At this point, my tax payment was late and I had to jump through many hoops to get the late charge reversed. Furthermore, paper checks have personal contact info and account and routing numbers on them, so if it fell into the wrong hands, someone could use my account to make fraudulent charges.
On another occasion, mail I sent to Oregon Department of Human Services vanished. This mailing contained personal financial and health documentation, and resulted in me having to resubmit everything online.
I find it suspicious that mail made out to government departments keeps disappearing and not being returned to me despite sufficient postage and a complete and legible return address. Luckily I document dates of mailing for important documents and am considering filing a formal complaint at the highest level possible.
I have always been a huge supporter of USPS. Part of the reason I opted to mail these documents rather than submitting them online was to support our postal service. From now on, I will either just submit online or drive my mail to the Sandy USPS location where I’ve never had these issues. In fact, after living in a dozen cities and towns over the course of my life, I have never had mail be lost by USPS and never returned to me. Not even once, not to mention multiple times.

The closest post office to Mount Hood with any Saturday hours.
Also appreciate you can drop off a reasonable sized package after hours (in lobby, not in blue boxes out front) after purchasing postage online.

Shoutout to Heather for being so helpful, especially during the stress of the holiday season!
Your willingness to help me locate a lost package during the busiest time of the year means more than you know.
Heather's boss - you've got a great employee there. Give her a raise! ;)

I have been using this post office for years without issue. Last time I dropped 7 boxes in their drop box the lady asked me to bring them inside to the counter. I have zero desire to walk through another set of doors, interact with a worker, or bump around other customers. So the next time I had boxes I dropped them in the drop box and not where requested. Tell me why two of those packages are now looping in the system when I have never had an issue in half a decade and thousands of boxes. People who simply don’t want to do their job. Dropping off over $80 worth in postage and they damaged my boxes intentionally because I didn’t want to go through all the extra stuff and place them on the counter. Malicious employees.

Clerk Erin is fantastic! She is sweet and sassy like a sour patch kid! I look forward to my visits with her. She is very knowledgeable and helpful proclaiming that she does not like to rip people off, which I appreciate! Heather is so sweet and Darlene, the postmaster, is the most beautiful person I've ever met! Highly recommend!

I have had a positive experience before but not today. The two people behind the counter did not want to help me and they didn’t seem to have any boxes that would work for me. They could see me struggling, and just sat and watched. They put in zero effort. I’ll take my business to a shipping store.

Miss Heather at this location was incredibly rude and condescending over the phone with me. She also tried to feed me false information about passport renewals so that I wouldn’t cancel my appointment and do it online. I know we all have unavoidable tasks to do at the post office, but if you can avoid this location I would. Also, a note to management, just because you’re government employees, does not exclude you from treating human beings with kindness. I get your life is probably miserable babe, but it’s incredibly unprofessional and sad to take it out on other people who are all living this life for the first time too. Hope your life gets happier Heather!

The supervisor Heather is very condescending aggressive and rude. I've never felt so insulted by a post office employee in my life. Hopefully the postmaster Darlene is professional as her staff is clearly not.

Called for a passport appointment the rep was very rude, she did not verify anything, I felt rushed and lasshed out at me when asked for her to repeat email address. I held for the manager Darlene for over 30mins.
