“Yvette and Ian are wonderful to work with. Yvette was on top of things from the beginning, getting me scheduled for a multitude of services. Ian went above and beyond in the servicing of my truck. I pull a heavy 5th wheel all around the country and he made sure that the belts, hoses, and fluids were in good condition. He checked my brakes and threw in a tire rotation. It was well worth the price for everything I got. I can’t recommend them enough.”
“My old 89 Dodges transmission had some problems when I stopped in town for the night. I called top gear and the assured me I could come in the next business day and get checked out. Luckily it was an easy fix and the shop was able to patch me up and get me back on the road that day. Friendly and honest folks that were very professional. Thanks again! Def recommend!”

“460 miles from home. Fuel pump goes out on the 101. These guys had it diagnosed in minutes of push it up from the tow. I had it back in lease then 20 hours of drop off! Thank you so much! The habbor inn is only a mile and half away and same to the beach.”
“Small town service at its best here. I had to make an unexpected trip towing a three-axel boat trailer and wanted to make sure everything was good to go before traveling 500 miles. Without an appointment, Carpenter Tire was able to get me in quickly, and do a complete check of the trailer. Using this trailer in saltwater, I anticipated there could be issues with wiring, brakes or bearings. They quickly checked it out, let me know what was wrong and had the bearings repacked and/or replaced by the next morning. One of the bearings was fried and wouldn’t have made it very far at high speed. The mechanic and service writer were both very experienced in dealing with trailers, bearings, hubs, wiring, etc. Great job by a longtime local business that shows it cares for its customers.”
“This team saved my butt. My fuel pump crapped out on me last Friday and left me unable to start my van right outside of Brookings. After getting towed in, they diagnosed it and ordered a new pump to be installed Monday. The part didn’t arrive on Monday unfortunately and the repair was completed the following day. I am satisfied with the repair and grateful to be back on the road. I thought the price was reasonable for the laborious job that I brought to them.
I would give this review 4 stars with my only complaint being communication/miscommunication faults, since I had to go into the shop on Monday myself to find out the repair wasn’t going to be completed that day.. regardless, I thought Ken and his team were a solid group of mechanics. Thanks again.”

“Driving BMW down the redwood hwy 99 on a recent Sunday I ran over a number of rocks falling from the cliffside and put a large hole in my oil pan. Was able to get a 40 mile tow to the Foreign Garage in Brookings. Long story short, the owner was able to get a new pan shipped in and worked overtime to replace it. Had me back on the road within 48 hours. Owner is a master mechanic who did an incredible job. Over 500 miles later and no leaks. Rescued me from what could have been a much longer ordeal. My most hearty thanks and do not hesitate to use the Foreign Garage for any service needed. Thank you.”
