Would urge anyone to take their business elsewhere.
I was having misfire issues with my car, a leak in my coolant and had my car dropped off at Bernie Bishop with a written note asking them to look at exactly those two things. They tested the pressure of my coolant, said there was no leak, refilled it, and then concluded that the issue was that my spark plugs were done incorrectly so they adjusted them. Upon driving away with my friend in a car following me, he immediately saw vapor coming out of my exhaust every time I would excellerate and then a little further my car broke down completely with my coolant practically empty.
Additionally, my airbag light has been on for a while and I have known that my airbags are no longer functional. Without asking my permission, Bernie Bishop decided to take on the job of diagnosing that my airbags don't work (which I already knew) and then charged me for it. When I came to pay I tried to explain this but was met with "I never would have done it if you didn't approve it" and ended up paying for this unapproved work too.
In the end, my total came out to over $600 for a spark plug adjustment (not even replacement), a coolant refuel, and none of my problems solved. I feel taken advantage of and would urge you not to come to Bernie Bishop Mazda.

I went several times to look at buying a new car. My family has bought multiple cars there since they first opened.
When I went to talk to their "top" saleswoman, without knowing my wages, my credit score or monthly expenses, she told me that I would only be able to get 15% APR loan and was told that they didn't have anything for me there, including their used cars.
Basically judged me by my appearance saying I couldn't afford their cars. So I went to another dealership 3 hours away and bought a 2025 chevy Trailblazer at 5% APR.
Their "top" saleswoman lost a customer for assuming I couldn't afford what they have. Don't go here to buy a car. Go to Grants Pass or Medford.

Small town dealer with a great selection of new Mazda's. The buying process was quick and easy, super friendly and overall a great experience. Shout out to Bernie, Sharon and Luke, great people to deal with. Never felt pressured or rushed.

What a pleasureful car buying experience. No pressure and GM Luke Collins was very professional, knowledgeable and willing to spend the time showing us all of the features to sync our phones to our new CX-5.

We was traveling through Oregon from Ohio and our car broke down, stopped at this dealership and ended up buying a new car, you couldn’t ask for a nicer group of people; friendly, courteous, and treated you like you was somebody, a small town dealership that treats you like family, wish this dealership was in Ohio.

I parked my motorcycle on the public street outside of this business. Someone who works for the business asked if me or my friends were there for a service, obviously not as we were all on motorcycles, and then was told to move our bikes. We were not asked nicely but told we should move them for customers. When we confirmed it was a public street for all to park on he confirmed it was and then told us the spots should be left open for customers. Sad to see one local business potentially taking away business from another by trying to shame us for using public parking.

So grateful to the car buying experience I had with these folks! Great people and great service department for our other vehicle. They worked overtime so I would not have to take another day off of work and my husband would have his truck! Great people!

Had a 1:00 appointment for both of our vehicles to get transponder key fobs ordered and then programmed by BB Mazda. So, two weeks ago we leave a $50 good faith deposit and we're told 3 days, 4 at the most, we'll call you, you make an appointment and we'll program those fobs for you!
So, almost 2 wks later, they call, we make our appointments to come in at 1:00 the next day.
Well, the guys are still at lunch at 1:15, nothings happening, so we leave ONE of our vehicle's with the key and go have lunch for about an hour+.
We come back with the SECOND vehicle now, right before 3:00, and they inform us that they ordered the wrong fob for my vehicle (DIDN'T call to tell us this as we're driving aimlessly thru Brookings in the 86°heat). Okay fine, I'm a bit miffed bc it's 3:00 and NOTHING'S happened with my car yet- oh well...So we leave my friend's car now and they say come back in a little over an hour. We call first, bc it's HOT and we don't want to come get the second vehicle if its nit ready.. they say Give us 10-15 minutes more.. we go back at 4:30. Like c'mon guys, we had an appt at ONE. We're told 60 to 90 minutes tops to program each vehicle's fob.. pay the balance and you're on your way! Easy peasy (btw, quoted $291 for my fob! and something like $165 for my friends'- ridiculous in itself, right?! but what can you do?!) It's
FIVE O' clock now and it's HOT and it's not like BB Mazda parts and service is air conditioned, with a water machine and coffee or a TV with the news on- NOOO... The guy in parts and service tells my friend: WE CAN'T PROGRAM THIS FOB EITHER BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE THE PROPER SOFTWARE..
Now I know we shouldn't take things personally and yes, "PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES." I'm not Cruella de Ville.. but now you, "BB MAZDA", has had me make TWO trips to your location (from Crescent City) - one to leave a deposit and another to PROGRAM the key fobs (keyless entries) for " ABOUT AN HOUR," we were told, and now it's FOUR + HOURS later, after we showed up on time, (10-15 minutes early actually) and you're seriously telling us you haven't gotten ANYTHING DONE.. just B.S CLOWN SHOW from start to finish?!?
I'm with that guy who wrote the review about the duct tape on his vehicle's roof when he picked up his car and Bernie Bishop charged him for "the work they 'did do".. ???
I'm not kidding, it was a Twilight Zone episode for sure.. one in which you just can't help but feel that you're being F*cked with and you and your time don't matter, the fact we trusted what you told us!.. HA HA HA, stupid us, right? Your incompetence in our agreed upon business transaction IS laughable. But you're the clowns!! Get it together and try to respect your customer's time and efforts as much as you respect your own!!
And that's MY 2 cents.
Signed,
the haggard old lady who got tired of waiting.
Peace Out ✌️

Took 3 visits to properly identify the windshield wiper fluid pump was defective. Also took 3 visits to correctly identify an emissions control system problem, which I can somewhat understand as it’s more complicated and there are several components. So, if you want an oil change or something simple, they can handle it. If it requires troubleshooting to identify a problem, you can probably count on multiple visits and being charged each time. The two stars are because most of the folks that work there are nice.
