These guys (Jeff I think?) rebuilt my 55 fordomatic transmission in 2019 and we’re unable to do the job correctly and were unable to help me/ fix the issues when I brought it back in shortly thereafter. This cost almost $3,000. I never had the impression they really knew what they were doing with regards to the rebuild and they never used the transmission service manual that I had provided with them at the time which was incredibly detailed and helpful. I ran into my old retired mechanic recently, who I think very highly of, who seemed to think highly of this shop, so I thought I’d contact them before finally ( yes years later) leaving a negative review. This was pretty much out of desperation as this car, more or less just sits in storage now because of these guys. They were unwilling to help me and were rather dismissive. Also, I’ve never had a shop get my carpet so dirty, it took years to get the grease stains out of my carpet which especially in a classic car you would think they would be extra careful of. I absolutely do not recommend this shop.

I dropped off my 2004 Ram 2500 to get the 48re rebuilt and some sensor issues fixed by the guys at Canby Trans. They’ve been very professional throughout the whole process. There was a slight accident that resulted in the starter boss on the bell housing getting cracked during removal but they were completely transparent about it. They made it right and swapped my old case for a non-cracked case at no extra charge. Jeff then went above and beyond and had my torque converter rebuilt at no extra charge as well. The only problem with the whole repair was my own temper when they cracked my original case otherwise Canby trans has done a wonderful job and got my truck back to me within 5 business days. I give them a 10/10 and I’ll be giving them my business as long as they’re still willing to deal with me as well. To sum it up this shop cares a lot about its reputation and wants to make sure they get the job done right.

Well... Life happened and the transmission blew on our truck. I am so grateful I made the commute (from Aloha) to Canby Transmission.
Jeff went above and beyond letting me know what to expect cost wise and time wise and gave me an excellent deal considering transmission repairs can be one the the more expensive fixes on vehicles.
He really turned a negative situation into a positive one AND my repair came with a warranty.
Zac was also extremely helpful. I'm not quite sure why there are negative reviews about him on here because he had nothing short of superb customer service and answered every single one of my questions with patience.
Thank you so much for fixing my vehicle!

Auto repair is a tough business. Ordinary people rely on their vehicles so it can get personal, especially when you're broken down on the road. It was handled correctly in the end and life goes on. God bless you guys

I'm shocked at some of the most recent reviews. My experience is totally different. My car is 28 years old and I recently had to go to several different shops for various issues going on and quotes. Canby transmission was the only up front shop that I interacted with!! Zach and the person who worked on my car (don't know his name) were transparent and honest, and fair with their pricing. I didn't feel like there were any pricing games that I experienced elsewhere. I know nothing about cars and I think this is often taken advantage of, but at Canby it wasn't that way (verified also by numerous other quotes I got for the same work, and the vibe) They were professional and did a great job, at a very reasonable rate. I even asked if they do more than just transmissions because they were extremely professional and detailed with the interactions from beginning to end. I highly recommend going here!

This shop is one of the best and most honest I’ve been too in a long while and very knowledgeable on everything that I’ve brought to them. Also Zach at the front desk has been very helpful and informative. 10/10 bravo

Undoubtedly the worst company I have ever dealt with. I took my truck in for diagnostic. Zac at Canby Transmission calls me after a little over a week stating that I need low pressure fuel lines replaced I asked how much and he said $700-$1,000 worst case. I gave them the green light. Shortly after that conversation he calls back the same day saying the truck still isn't starting and now I need to replace the high pressure fuel pump and Fuel Injectors.. Note.. I just got done having the high pressure fuel pump replaced before bringing it to Canby Transmission.. at this point I just paid what I owed for the fuel lines which turned out to only be $368.53 for two lines and two hours of labor.. so I paid that happily and got my truck towed to another mechanic... New mechanic received my truck and immediately called to ask me what fuel lines did i have done and I told him and he replied with "these are definitely not new". I called Canby Transmission back and they flat out told me they didn't do them and that it was a mistake that I got billed followed by instructions to bring my card down for refund. I finally got around to it went in there to literally get denied by Zac and the Owner of the company and got shoved out into the parking lot while Zac tried slapping my phone out of my hand luckily he missed but managed to rip my receipt and throwing it at me.... Tried reporting to the Canby police but over $368 buck on a Friday evening wasn't really worth the wait and added inconvenience... I will be reporting my experience on every advertising / social media platform possible including the BBB any other advice would be appreciated!
