“I was headed north from California to western Wa. I had to pull over to rest. It was dusk, and I was terribly sleepy. When I woke up, I noticed I was across the street from this antique store. I tried to start my truck to continue my drive. Unfortunately, unknowingly,I had left my lights on. It was early, 7am, to be exact. I had a deadline. I had to be in Anacortes, WA, to meet the 5:30pm ferry. If I didn't get help, I would miss the ferry. I decided to walk over to this antique shop and see if anyone was there.... Of course, it wasn't open! It's 7am... but I thought maybe the owners were there.... I looked around, knocked on the door, and pondered to myself, "How in the heck am I going to get myself out of this predicament?" I walked around and looked into a window. I saw a sign that said, "emergency" and a number below it. I thought to myself, "This is an emergency. " I called the number; left a message about my situation and hoped for the best.
I walked back to my truck and decided to call the police in the area to see if they could help me. I needed a jump start and fast.
As I was looking for options on my phone of ways to get out of my problem, I noticed a truck pull up facing me and out jumped a man. I came out of my truck and he introduced himself as Ross. Ross from Past & Present gifts. He was on a mission to help a lady in need. He heard my message of despair and like a knight, dropped in and saved my life. He got my truck started in no time. I was on the road and made my ferry appointment without a hitch.
Thank you Ross. Hopefully I'll be able to visit your store on the way home when you're open and I have no deadlines to make.”
