Had a great experience at Plaid Pantry Clackamas today! Big thanks to my clerk, Ryan, for the friendly service and great conversation. We talked about customer reviews and how businesses can improve the customer experience—especially by addressing older, unresolved reviews. It wouldn’t take much for a manage to go back and respond to past concerns, like accusations of short-changing, to show customers they’re being heard.
As for my visit, I saw a review mentioning a moldy soda flavor, but I didn’t taste anything off. Maybe a slight change in sweetener for the non-nutritive one, but nothing weird or gross. I did spot a tiny fleck of something near the soda machine—looked like a tea leaf or something—but it was no big deal. Could’ve even come from my own hands (I’m not exactly pristine).
The Cherry Pepsi and Mountain Dew were out, but no worries—I still got my fix. They had Original Pepsi and Mountain Dew Code Red, and honestly, Code Red is getting harder to find these days, so that was a win. Like candy in a cup!
On a side note, Ryan mentioned that raises aren’t really a thing in jobs like this, which is unfortunate. We all know that a job is best served by someone who enjoys it and is fairly compensated. If a raise isn’t possible in his current role, maybe there’s another position within the company that would better suit him—he’s an artist, a talented drawer, and maybe there’s a role that taps into that skill-set, something more prestigious than the battleground of a convenience store on the outskirts of Portland. Just a thought!
Overall, it was a solid visit—good drinks, good service, and a clerk who actually cares about making the experience better.

This Sunnyside store has high employee turnover and the inconsistent customer service is sadly declining. I used to be greeted upon entering or at least acknowledged with a smile or wave. My children and I frequent the Oregon city locations and are always leave with a smile. I’ve grown up in Portland and am true to my “plaid panties” not 711. I just think there’s something deeper happening at this location.
Also soda machine leaves a moldy after taste. I’m pretty skeeved out now.
And I am constantly navigation food drinks and displays put in positions that are nonsensical. Not upset just adds to the not so pleasant experience

Look i work nights and sometimes I rely on on businesses being open when they should be. I can understand the need for a break but putting a be back in 10 min sign up and then not returning for over 4 hours is a little senseless. Came back on 4 seprate occasions just to get a drink while going between my accounts for the night and the last time just to see if someone decide to come back to work. Plaid pantry d9sent even care that they have employees being paid to leave the store unattended for hours at a time due to the multiple complaints I have given for this. So I come to let you know not a really a 24hr business and you should choose to spend money at any of the other actually open convince stores in the area.

We stop in often to grab a monster and the nicest people work here. Today we went to grab 6-16 pound bags of ice and the cashier Rob I believe, grab them for me and brought them out to my car. I’ve never seen such great customer service! Give that man a raise!

On June 19 I went to this location and spent a total of $10.59. Magically without me asking for any cash back an extra $40 went missing from my card. Do not trust this location.

Nice store. It was a little messy. It didn’t have quite everything that I was looking for. But it was good for a quick stop.

Plaid pantry needs to hire better IT people because this about the fourth time I have come to this pantry and there is a an IT problem and none of the computers are working. Actually this is good because now I know to make this the last place I try to get anything.

This came up for a bottle exchange place a little while ago. I just called Plaid Pantry minutes ago and found there is "No Bottle Exchange Here" so I thought I'd write to let others know.

Went there twice on Saint Patrick’s Day/today. Had to refill. The man who is older and had a long beard and glasses called me an alcoholic and literally made fun of me of me as I walked in. He made fun of me in front of the other customers. Disrespectful and judgmental.
