Second visit. Thought I found an honest shop after first visit. I had oil pan installed in June 2023 due to plug damage from another shop. After a period of time, I noticed oil drops on my garage floor. I put cardboard on floor and watched for leakage. Leakage was minor but it was leakage. I assumed new pan gasket had leak. After spending close to $1K for new pan, I returned to shop for evaluation. Christopher, who claimed to be shop manager, did inspection and advised that valve covers were leaking. Inspection also indicated oil level was "way over filled." The only oil in that crankcase was put in by their technician.Overfilling causes high oil pressure and seal failure. I asked him to perform a oil change and put proper amount of oil. He refused, and accused me of adding oil and overfilling crankcase. .Boy was I wrong about an honest shop..Quibbling about a $70 oil change after spending $900 to make things "right" is not good business policy, and definitely not "honest!"BUYER BEWARE!

I have used Rob's in the past then got a different car and now back again. The customer service is great, had my care in and out in no time. Nice that they have a nice lounge and coffee also.

Rob’s Automotive worked on my 2003 E350 7.3l. Engine leaked oil and batteries needed replacement. Replaced rear main seal, valve and oil pan gaskets redone, including rod and bearings. Glow plugs and remanufactured turbo, two batteries and refreshed AC with refrigerant. Chris promised a few free oil changes, don’t remember how many. THE WORKS!I was referred to them by John McGee at Quadvan. A well known 4x4 Ford van expert. He said very few honest diesel techs left out there, he said they gave a great warranty so I went. They took a little longer than expected. Totally not a big deal, part backordered. Cost to complete work was over $10K. Chris confused me with a free oil change at 500 miles, but that should have come with the type of engine work they had just completed. When I left the shop, AC was not working, returned and got filled/corrected. That took a while. AC should a lot colder but we can square that away in the summer. Chris then gave me a free oil change, on top of one that comes with rod and bearings being replaced, this time he made sure to explain.Few days later the engine was leaking oil. Also found oil stain on my passenger seat. Scratched up paint on the van van getting engine in/out.In the shop 3 more days and they said the ICP valve was loose. Not sure how they missed that or even needed to loosen it to complete work. They cleaned both seats and rattle canned scratch on engine bay. Didn’t fix scratched up oil pan. Carter gave me another free oil change. In the end I received two free oil changes after issues arose. Kind of lame I had to have issues to get them. I guess it’s business.Great things about Rob’s they are kind, hard working, stand by their work. They have an excellent warranty! Overall kind of bumpy experience but we are human. 4 stars is appropriate.Services: Auto battery replacement

Called and made appointment for tie rod repair. Dropped off my SUV. Got an inspection report and quote the day. Authorized the repair and oil change. My vehicle was ready to pick up the next business day. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would go there again and will recommend them to others.

I have had countless rigs at countless mechanics and I have personally never experienced the service, quality and pride of work that I experienced here. From the very beginning they went above and beyond to find the issues with my newly acquired truck and with everything they found they had picture proof of it. We made a game plan on what we wanted to attack first. They executed it flawlessly, this truck is almost thirty years old and with this new transmission and the few other things they did, it feels like a different rig. For the kind of workmanship and service you get with this company the value is second to none! Craig is amazing to work with. I trust them more than any other shop out there, I will be going back every chance I get on every vehicle I own. If you go with Rob's Automotive there will not be single regret. You will become a lifelong customer like me and the few others I know that have gone there Already!!!Services: Transmission

From the original diagnosis to the most recent outcome, the shop seemed intent on correcting the problem. They partially did.I took my car in twice to address the issue diagnosed. They covered the labor for readdressing the issue, after I bought the recommended part.I chose Rob’s for proximity to my work. My original mechanic found one code; this shop said they cleared three and there was one more.I received multiple calls and was told my car would be ready before 4pm. At 3:45 (with no callback), I left work and walked to the shop.Grateful for the corrective service, I made my way and waited while one person fielded phone calls. When time allowed, the person fielding phone calls (Chris) walked me out to my car, handed me my keys and said, ‘…this was a tricky one…’… as if the problem had been solved. No paperwork… No proof of work done. I should’ve requested it.I started my car and noted that the “40-50 mile test drive mileage” (I was previously told was required for diesels) hadn’t happened… despite being told my car had been test driven at least twice over the course of 9hrs, and all had been resolved.I headed home, thankful to be able to put this behind me.My “check engine” light came back on at the traffic light 900ft from the shop.I’m struggling to decide between giving the shop another try and visiting a specialized VW repair shop. I’ve spent enough money trying to resolve the issue the shop identified, and am tired of asking for help if they can’t help.Service: Exhaust

Started going to Robs after Honda kept insisting I needed repairs I didn’t need. Always extremely honest about what repairs are actually urgent & which ones I can wait out for a bit. Regularly quoted about half the price I would pay for the dealership. I’ve recommended Robs to a few of my co workers now who were still getting ripped off at the dealership.

They took thousands from me and fixed nothing. Then the work they did failed and I lost steering while on the road.

Due to both our vehicles warranty expiring needed to find a local shop to trust with our maintenance. Pleased with the performance of all the good folks at Rob's Automotive, I will be recommending them to my neighbors.Service: Oil change

Due to a coupon for an oil change, I went to Rob's Automotive. The people were very nice and took great care of me. So I went back to Rob's for some major work. Craig took great care of me. My Jeep runs so my better. I recommend this shop to everyone. They are fair and really nice people.

I went in for an alignment, and although they couldn’t do that they gave me a very detailed list of things I needed to get done and showed me everything I needed to know. Educated me and was super nice and pleasant about it. They themselves were also educated and knew what they were talking about since I have a very far from stock vehicle! Will be back when the list is fixed up so I can get an alignment on my rig!

If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT USE THESE HACKS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A DIESEL!! We paid for almost $5K worth of repairs. Didn't even get home the first 2 times before error codes came back on. Finally the 3rd time I told them I was going to get a second opinion and get back to them. I got a secondary inspection that showed the exact power steering pumps I had paid them to replace were gushing power steering fluid everywhere and they incorrectly cut and reinstalled our exhaust system. The ended up costing me more money to repair the damage they caused. When I asked for a small and very reasonable partial refund (showing the documentation with photos and additional inspection report), I was told no (I only wanted $900 back). I had to let them have a 4th wack at it. That's like have a doctor cut the wrong leg off and him wanting a second chance to fix it!Update: Even better, you admit the tech was incompetent and making mistakes, but still refuse to refund me. What's worse is that you think that schmoozing someone with a washman's (which I never actually received) and putting gas in (again, I didn't ask for and you could have just charged us for) some how makes up for the extremely negligence and damage you have caused. I had to pay several hundred dollars just to have the engine cleaned from the power steering fluid. I did find out however from the community that I am most definitely not the only person to get screwed by Rob's. There are many others who have had the same experience and people have reached out to me to let me know I am not alone. Pathetic.

Every time I have ever been to Rob's Automotive I've had a very pleasant experience. Craig and his team always go above and beyond to make sure I understand the work being done and to make sure I'm comfortable. I absolutely have and will continue to recommend Rob's Automotive to my friends, family and anyone who is in need of car repairs.
