The store is friendly. However, the fruit and veg quality leaves a LOT to be desired. I've been frustrated with. both the poor level of freshness in store and how often things are flavourless, or mouldy, or whatever, when I get them home.
Yesterday, I mentioned this to a worker when I returned some meat I had just purchased which was FIVE DAYS out of date on the day of sale. She was really helpful and more than made things right with me - asking me what I had bought recently that was bad, replacing it, etc.
However, when I tried to use some of that replacement produce it was also off (think blueberries that have begun to ferment). I really like having a Safeway in Clatskanie, but they need to get a produce manager who really understands produce and local people need to make sure that they complain about the bad produce when they get it. We will all benefit!
