I’ll lead this by saying I get my hair done about once a year. Hair is expensive and I’m always really excited about it.
In October I scheduled a cut and color appointment that would take place in November. I wanted to get some face framing highlights, a hair cut, and some tinsel. Tinsel isn’t a normal part of my appointments so I thought it would be fun for the holiday.
The receptionist checked with my hairstylist and said we can add that on without additional charge.
About two weeks before my appointment I got a call that the person I’m a scheduled with is out on leave. Totally fine. I was rescheduled for December. I asked if the tinsel as part of the appointment was still fine and I did bring up that my stylist said that wouldn’t be an additional charge.
Came in today and while my highlights were toning I was told that tinsel is actually 10 dollars per strand. What I was wanting would be an extra 80-120 dollar commitment onto an already expensive appointment.
If I would have been told this before the appointment that would have been fine. I could have looked into other options or at least come in knowing what u was getting done. It sucks hearing this halfway through.
I cancelled that part of my service, because that was definitely not part of my budget for hair. I could have paid for tinsel added, but not anywhere near that much.
The stylists were friendly. The atmosphere is nice. The highlight job is nice. But it sucks communicating what I want done and going into an appointment excited about the service and an outcome and not getting that.

If all stylist were like Ta' lor we'd have a population of women who loved their natural hair. It would be a revolution! I'd straightened for years because every time I tried to wear my natural curls I just couldn't do it- my confidence was low and i really hated my natural hair.
First appr with Taylor she said when and if your ever ready I'll teach you. Life changing moment right there. Coming from a family of curly hair and a mother that also straightened cause she was never taught. Taylor willingness, eagerness and Tru joy in teaching me how to do my curly hair was infectious. I took the jump and seriously had someone say the other day
"You look more like yourself than you ever have in your life"
I'm 38 curly and proud thanks to Ta'lor!

The first salon I've EVER been to where stylists aren't prima Donna's. They all work together for the best interest of the client. Thanks to Vicky and Daniel !

I went to Reflections for the first time for a haircut with Tia. I explaimed I had a regular stylist but I missed an appointment because I was sick and my stylist was cutting back hours so I was looking for a backup stylist. All was fine until I went to pay and she wanted to make an appointment for the next month. When I told her I had an appointment with my stylist everything changed. She said, actually, we all specialize in this salon, and I am a colorist. When you make your next appointment, you can make it with someone else who specializes in haircuts. She was fine to take my money for a haircut when she thought it was going to be every month, but as soon as she found out it wasn't, she was rudely pawning me off to someone else. It took her 20 minutes to cut my hair. She got $59.99 for the haircut and $12 for the tip. But that wasn't enough. I will not return to a salon where greed trumps all.

I love short hair and have had everything from razored fade to 20's bob for 15+ years. My challenge has always been most places are not ready to cater to cutting short hair.So when I saw Ta'lor specialized in it and had short hair herself I decided to give her a go. She understood from the start exactly what I wanted and the challenges I described with my hair. She showed me a couple tricks to make my hair cooperate better and took the time do detail work that you have to do to make short hair look good. This is the first time in I think ever I left an appointment and didn't have a list of things to try and fix at home because what I wanted was done right the first time.Services: Haircut

I was already anxious trying a new place but as soon as I walked in I was warmly welcomed and offered a beverage. My stylist introduced herself and was kind and friendly. The whole vibe is positive and love the desperate washing room. Grace did an amazing job on my hair and I know my hair isn’t easy and very time consuming so I was really thankful for her patience and making me feel comfortable. Everyone was friendly and she did an amazing job helping me choose highlights that were complimentary and a great trim.

I went in to cut off a foot of hair to donate to Locks of Love and came out with a beautiful haircut and my now go to hairstylist. The salon was quiet and well lit. It's a cute old building, in the heart of Coburg. Everyone working there was truly friendly without the pretentious attitudes of other salons.Ta'lor understands curly hair and puts me, a ND woman, right at ease. She even gave me her card to reach out if I have any issues and she will touch it up. That's top notch service! We live in a world that doesn't accommodate those of us with different needs so I'm happy to find places that employ those who do understand us.I do wish they had another way to initiate contact instead of just to call. Verbal communication is not always the easiest. For curly hair or just understanding of ND people, go to Ta'lor Stafford.
