“First off, the staff here are great. They will show right up and talk to you if you go to the lobby, and if you go up there with a problem they solve it right away. For instance, I had an oopsie buying something out of the vending machine that didn't come out, and they gave me the cash out of the register and apologized. Not many places would.

I also like that they left me alone when I was outside, unless it was morning and we were exchanging good mornings or something. But I was outside a lot smoking and working on my laptop and stuff because the internet works better outside there. It also heavily depends on where your room is. They need a range extender, the problem would be fairly easy to tackle for cheap, I am not sure why they don't as it would improve our stays by a LOT.

The cons are that the water in the rooms like in the taps is not good to drink, it made me feel like crap a couple of times. They also closed the bathrooms near the laundry place, and for that matter the laundry stuff messed up and charged me for a broken washer that wouldn't start then the dryer didn't dry my clothes really so I paid like 6 dollars for nothing almost. The worker said the company has to do the refund, and he'd put in a repair request. The refrund did not work, and I am not fussing with calling them for 6 dollars, I got better stuff to do.

Also, you only get a couple bars of this really bad soap. You can buy shampoo and all that out of the vending machine, or just travel a tiny bit and go to a store and get a far better deal.

This is a place you go that you know is going to be affordable and a place to lay low for a few days. They let you stay up to 14 days in a row, then you have to leave for 3, probably so you can't claim you live there or whatever.

The area is nice, you can walk one way and make it to a weed store and Elite Market, and there is a weed store right next to Motel 6 called Bahama Buds, but it's pricey compared to Positive Vibrations near Elite Market. Also, at Elite Market you can get chicken of all things. It was nice though because the walk there is beautiful in the dark or when the sun's coming up and Elite Market is open 24 hours a day.

Anyway, I would recommend them and if you go there get the My6 app or whatever it usually has the best deals on stays, at least ones a day or two into the future.”

“Great price for a clean and safe place to rest. The newly remodeled bathrooms are very nice, and we appreciated the oscillation fan in the room. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. I was worried about the busy Road next to the motel but it was actually quiet through the night and we slept great! The prices were very affordable , and although it's an older motel you can definitely tell they work hard to keep the rooms nice and comfortable for guests. It is located close to shopping, coffee shops, and the center of town so you can walk a short distance to go shopping for your needs. Rooms are non smoking, and clean. Parking is in front of each room. The only con was the non working ice machine, but a quick trip to the market a block over solved the problem :) We could tell that the owners are trying hard to update the rooms, and for the great price we felt the room was very nice! I would stay here again on my next trip”

“We stayed at Captain Johns Motel early 2025 and found it to be very clean and a great deal. The perfect option for those that like to save some money and get a lot for your dollar. Nearby restaurant was a good place for lunch and the docks are nearby if you want to check out the fishing boats.”

“While this motel is a little off the beaten path, its super cute! The room was nice and the beds were comfy. My nephew wanted to stay longer ?. We did arrive late but the woman who checked us in was very kind about it and all we had to do was call her upon arrival. Thank you!”

“Let me start out with saying that we did enjoy our stay here. It was my wife and my two children under two. The price we paid was very reasonable specifically considering that breakfast is included and it's a hot breakfast, not just cereal and yogurt while the hot breakfast isn't necessarily high quality. It was definitely a bonus add-on and helped save us plenty of money not having to worry about one of our three meals for the day. It also allowed us to really get full and therefore not have to be in a rush to eat the next meal. The location of this hotel is really top notch. It has multiple entrances to enter into an abundance of parking places, so even when they are busy there's still plenty of places to park. It's also centrally located right off of highway 101 right before the main boardwalk area of coos Bay. So location wise it's great. It's not far away. It's not a separator or isolated making it extremely walkable many things such as restaurants, cafes and shopping. That doesn't mean this place is perfect and no hotel is. Some of the things that could have been approved was definitely cleanliness. While nothing was overly disgusting or dirty, it truly wasn't all that clean. The staff fair was friendly, but they really didn't seem like they were interested in helping you and they weren't necessarily friendly looking. They did always provide a smile at the end work in genial to talk to and were able to provide all of the things that I needed. As far as toy trees that I forgot extra towels and the like one major flaw of this is that while it is advertised to have an indoor swimming pool, there's no indoor access to get to the swimming pool. Every room here is facing the outside and there's no central lobby or anything like that that we would be walking through. So when you're going to the pool you're going to be in your swimsuit and when you leave the pole you're going to be soaking wet walking out to go back to your room. This was a huge killing point for me as one of the main reasons I booked this hotel was to have an indoor swimming pool area which the way it's advertised is actually rather deceptive
I stayed in room 299 which was a two queen bed room that also had a kitchen. I've never knew a hotel that had kitchens in their rooms, but this was truly an awesome feature and definitely made my stay for far more accommodating considering that I had two adults and two children under 2 years old, having the extra room space as well as actually having counter space as well as having a full refrigerator and freezer really made this. Stay truly accommodating and far more of a great experience that I was expecting at a three-star hotel.
I know that if I'm working for a hotel, this is truly a reliable one and I may may end up staying here again in the future”

“We stayed in the 2nd story king bed water view. In the middle outside entrance , #206.it had the best balcony view of the slough “river”. Very quiet, great AC u it, tall nice ceilings, very spacious. Chris greeted us the first day and he is so nice and accommodating, gracious and saw to all our needs. We usually frequent Hiltons but we were impressed by this property. Maybe it’s not the “Best, fancy exterior,” but the gorgeous lobby, and front desk service and room were way above expectations.”

It's always affordable, clean and comfortable.
This weekend we stayed overnight to celebrate our anniversary. It was decorated with flowers and made us feel warm and welcomed.
