Wow, I have never been treated with so much disrespect. I believe this place must have poor managements skills. I have been a patient at NBMC Coos Bay for over 12 years and have never, NEVER, been treated this way. I was sitting in the large waiting area shared by all the doctors waiting for my pre-op appointment to have knee surgery a week later. Sitting there I heard very loud screams coming from the Pediatrics' clinic with doors wide open at the end of large waiting area. The screams continued, not stopping, no one was helping. I was on day 4 of a migraine and finally walked down to see where the screaming was coming from. The only young woman sitting down jumped up walked to only child there that was screaming, looked at me and said he has Autism. My one sentence, "These does not help someone with a headache." That is all said, then turned and went back to my seat. Several minutes later a Security man comes up behind me stands over my right should and says, "Are you the one causing the ruckus?" I replied, "No." He did not ask me anything, did not introduce himself. He demanded I go back to the young woman and apologize. This Security man did not speak to me with respect, did not listen to me, did not ask me my side of this issue, he did threaten to escort me out the building if I did not apologize. I tried to explain myself when he turned and walked into my doctor's office and told all the doctor's employees his story of the situation. Then walked out and away from the area. I was in shock from being bullied by a grown man in a medical profession setting. I stood up from my chair and walked to patient placement and requested and Patient Feedback/Complaint Form. Then I returned to my chair in the waiting area and see the Security man approach me with another man who sat down next to me said if I go to Pediatrics' area, I will be escorted out the building. What? The other man who approached me said he was the CEO of NBMC. Later I found out he is the Interim CEO Jon Winders. Before I left NBMC after my pre-op appointment I filled out the Patient Feedback/Complaint Form and had the clerk make me a copy. The date of this incident was Nov. 3, 2021. Monday Nov. 8, I get a call from a woman in Jon Winders office telling me I will be receiving a NO TRESSPASS ORDER in the mail and my knee procedure at the hospital has been canceled. SHOCKING..... WTH! I asked her have all my doctors agreed with this, she replied yes. I asked are you denying me medical treatment, she replied yes. I asked why and all she could tell that she had my compliant form in front of her on the desk and I said I went to Pediatrics'. This woman on the phone could not give a justification for the NO Trespass order or the cancelation of my surgery. Nov. 11, 2021, I received a letter from Jon Winders stating: In view of recent interactions North Bend Medical Center is unable to participate in your future medical care. We ask that you make no further contact with NBMC providers by phone or in person. Locations include NBMC Coos Bay, NBMC Coquille, NBMC Myrtle Point, NBMC Bandon, and NBMC Gold Beach. If you need an immediate medical treatment you may go to Bay Area Hospital Emergency Department. At the bottom of this letter, he has CC to the Coos Bay Police Department. My surgery was canceled by administration. I have not received any communication from Dr. Randall Jennings regarding the surgery cancelation. He has abandoned me mid treatment. He office has left me high & dry. The pre-op requirements (labs, EKG, pre-op appointment with Dr. Jenning, the pre-op appointment at the hospital short stay, and the COVID testing) had all been completed. Now I am left with paying the bill for these without surgery. And left feeling abused. I have written two letters to NBMC Board Members. The first letter I asked for an investigation in the incident. No response. The second letter I sent Dec. 10, return receipt asking for the statis of my requested investigation and to look into the behavior of Jon Winders. I have
