As a present tenant, let me say that I do love the home I am in. I can see that good care is given to their properties in between leases. On the phone and in person, the staff is polite and helpful.However, they are completely understaffed and behind in their maintenance. I am sure maintaining hundreds of properties is no easy task. They, as a business, should additionally employ at least three more full-time maintenance crew members. To my knowledge, there is only one full-time person. While it has been my experience with him that he does good work, there is no reason why any task should take five months to complete. Renting in Corvallis is already extremely difficult. In my experience, many Corvallis rental companies are proud slum-lords, happy to take the rent and give no services in return. At Home Properties, unfortunately, has shown me that they are in this group. The rusty water mentioned in other posts is a problem where I live as well. I realize older homes and buildings require large scale maintenance such as pipe replacement, electrical replacement, appliance replacement, mold prevention, window replacement and more. As a rental company they should be aware that this is what they signed up for. Rentals need to be taken care of, otherwise the units will no longer be suitable for renting out. It is my hope that At Home Properties should begin to care about the properties they own, and to make long-lasting improvements instead of quick and temporary fixes.

Money hungry jerks is truth. One month yes on me for not having needed funds after my auto payment date when it was going through but the online portal didn't let me fix that until I hit two late payment fees all my with the other fee. This month I just discovered that even though I changed my auto payment date to a different date for I saw I wouldn't have the rent in full till the changed date I made. I wake up to an email saying my rent was rejected and my newly set payment date hasn't even arrived. Also the needing to pay a tracking fee is rediculus

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE, THEY WILL SCAM YOU OF YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT. We left our place spotless, and they charged us for 15 hours of cleaning, and to repaint and prime all of the walls. We left no damage to the house, and got about 300 dollars left. Not to mention, we didn't have a working dryer for almost our entire lease. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE

For $1200 a month you too can have a rusted oven that looks like its from the nineties, roaches coming out of your bathtub drain, and stairs covered in rusted nails with the railing filling your hands with splinters if you so much as brush up on it! But seriously, do not rent from these people. Upon move in you could tell whoever cleaned did a rushed job. The oven was caked with a cleaning agent that wasn’t wiped off or out of the oven and the toilet paper roll holder was absolutely covered with grime. This rental company does the absolute bare minimum and charges you as much as they can for what are some of the worst apartments in Corvallis.

The software they use for paying rent online (Appfolio) charges a transaction fee for card and e-checks online. At Home is not allowing people to pay with personal checks. Therefore, no matter how you pay - online or with money order - there is an additional fee tacked on just to pay rent. They are not willing to change their policies to accept personal checks due to the software change.Pretty terrible company policy to charge someone an extra fee no matter how they pay their rent.

When I first moved in they had me sign for an apartment that was already lived in. They gave me a key to that apartment so when I went to move in imagine my surprise when I opened the door to an apartment that was lived in. Stupidly dangerous situation for everybody involved. Rent is way too high of course for what I lived in and they will love to give you ridiculous charges to keep as much of your security deposit as possible when you move out. The few times I actually needed something from them they were slow to respond and generally unhelpful.

I called and spoke to Cory because I was interested in a unit at one of their properties. Couldn’t tour it, and had no photos of the unit. I asked if I could have photos of a different unit they said “that would be too much digging, you could do your own research”. What’s the point of having a realty company if you’re not going to put in any of the work? I mean seriously… not a single photo of a single unit to provide?

A person I know rents from this company in Salem OR. This company needs to be investigated. They have left numerous renters without maintenance for weeks to months at a time. leaking sinks, plug sinks, non-working washing machine and dryer. They have even went as far as getting the electric shut off from not paying the electric bill, so the replaced/repaired washer and dryer won't work anyway! There was a notice placed on the laundry room door from April 28th, 2023 saying the electric was shut off because they (At Home Properties) didn't pay their bill leaving the apartment complex with no security lights or laundry room facilities. They say they send out maintenance, other renters have stated that this is not true, that the Maintenance workers have not shown up or repaired the non-working items. The rent has been raised on every apartment there, at least once if not twice in a year, and yet the quality of service and maintenance has dropped considerably since this apartment was taken over by At Home Properties. The people in the office are rude and disrespectful every time they are called. The authorities in Salem need to be made aware of these issues. It seems that their basic rental rights are being neglected. The renters in this complex need take some legal action against this company and or the owner for allowing this to continue. I am writing this because the renters are afraid of retaliation from the company. A concerned friend.

Very poor customer service. I called in to ask about a property today and talk to this guy who feels like sleepy and doesn't seem to care. Very unprofessional!Edit: I was in contact with someone at higher level of management and they handled things much more professionally. My time renting with AHP (more than 2 years) was quite nice and uneventful. The sleepy guy at Corvallis office was probably an exception.

Wishing I could leave a lower review. This company kept $600 of our deposit. $20 of which was for changing a lightbulb. About $500 was for cleaning, although this townhouse was left in much better condition than when we moved in. They claimed we left dried paint on surfaces, even though we mentioned that paint in our inspection sheet upon move in. Carissa Sipe is who we dealt with. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Be careful and always ask for a move-out inspection with a landlord present and an itemized list of what they think is not ordinary wear and tear. Such a shame. We really cared for the townhouse we lived in.

This company allows you to live in rat infested homes. Breathing in decaying toxic fumes to you and your children. I definitely wouldn't recommend using them for your home as an owner or a renter. The customer service is also something to be desired.

I'm giving you 2 stars for the year I lived at 313 NW 7th Corvallis Oregon . Oh hi it me ? my 30 days notice ended on the 26 of February... You have my deposit to remove and or pay for anything I left . I hope you donated all my belongings to a charity in your town ... CHF .... They'll pick it up for free ... But anyways ... My deposit should cover your bill ... If not see you in court

Agree with previous reviewer this "property management company" are slum lords. High rents. Fees for everything. My building had random people coming and going because the lock to the front door was always broken and there was an AirBnb rental space there. Constantly smelled like weed and piss in the hallways. Abysmal maintenance--had someone come fix something in my bathroom after 2 months of waiting, fixed one of two problems, then take a s**t in the toilet and leave it. On move out left my apt in pristine shape--CLEANER than when I moved in--and still charged over $100 for cleaning fee. They then refused to refund me this fee and were super rude about it like I was the one who had taken a s**t and left it. Do not rent from them. Or if you do, document everything and take pictures. Ugh.
