Condescending and greedy. I showed up 1 hour late for my reservation which had a prepaid deposit, to find my car was ‘gone’. They offered to ‘upgrade’ me for $20 a day but gave me a high mileage car no better than I reserved. When I asked if they would either waive the extra fee or actually upgrade me, they declined and said it was my fault for being late, and that I should be an adult and show up on time.

Too bad they won’t accept the official DMV “receipt” for my license renewal. And since I didn’t know that in advance, I’m stuck with no car. Lousy customer service. They could have at least offered a ride to somewhere besides being stuck at their office far away from any useful place. I won’t be using or recommending them to anyone or for anything. My recommendation? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I regret to inform you that I cannot recommend Hertz car rental company to anyone. During my recent rental experience, I encountered significant issues that left me in a difficult situation and resulted in unauthorized charges to my credit card. The lack of assistance and support from their customer service team further exacerbated the situation. I would like to provide more details about my experience:
I completed the car rental reservation with reservation number K95643088F4 on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 6:04 AM. I reserved a Chevrolet Malibu vehicle for $86.64 by providing my credit card details ($58.05 for the rental and $29.09 for insurance). Upon arriving at the Corvallis branch to pick up the car, I was informed that they did not have any vehicles available. They explained that they were unable to call us due to our phone being international. When asked why they did not send an email, they apologized, stating their oversight.
Hertz Corvallis branch put us in a very difficult situation that day. Additionally, I noticed on my credit card statement as of August 24 that a charge of $58.05 was made under the "No-Show Rules for Pay Later Rentals" section. It is unacceptable to both inconvenience customers and deduct money for not showing up to a reservation. You are truly causing distress to people and not fulfilling your responsibilities.
I request the immediate refund of the $58.05 deducted from my credit card to rectify the inconvenience caused.

Had an AWFUL experience here. The woman working (7/19/24, 2:30pm) checked the car upon return, found the TINIEST nick on the windshield, could have easily been there before, and charged us for it. TINY!!!! We literally thought she was joking. Good thing we had accidental. Even told my cousin that she forgives me for challenging her intensely after keeping us there the better part of an hour for this nonsense. What??? Before this we used this business all the time, but...never again because of this... Seriously, still boggles my mind. It was bizzaro-world. Take detailed pictures if you're forced to use this place. I recommend staying away.

Clowns would not accept temporary driver license and passport for ID, leaving me in a pickle, had to panic uber to PDX. Abysmal customer service.

They charged me $150 for "excessive pet hair" but cant define what "excessive" is. Hertz is discriminatory to those with service dogs. If they find any pet hair they will charge a cleaning fee. Id understand if I did nothing to prevent and clean the hair, but I paid to have the car interior cleaned of all pet hair and returned the car cleaner then when i picked it up. (there was trash in the doors as well as old food under the seats at pickup after i waited 20 minutes for them to "clean the car") The manager was "on the road and going to call me back" but never bothered to call. Terrible business

After I made the reservation online, I took the order to the store, and the store told me that there was no car and I needed to cancel! And I was charged a cancellation fee! Very bad experience!

The hardest thing to do is call a human being at the Corvallis office. The AI operator does not have that option. It runs you in circles. I gave up and went to another company to find a human being to ask a simple rental question about.

AWESOME top-notch service with a wonderful staff!!!! Julie the manager is so sweet, caring and professional. She made sure I was well taken care of and happy with my rental car. She even gave me an upgrade to an SUV that was easier on my knee's when getting in & out of the rental : ). Tiffany and Shereace were also very helpful, friendly and thoughtful. They all treat you like family and will go above & beyond for you!!!! My SUV was clean inside and out. Price is right and they were very accommodating esp. since I didn't know when our truck was going to be out of the auto body shop. I will definitely use them again! Keep up the amazing job you all do and thank you for everything : )

An unpleasant experience that is ongoing.... constant attempts to sell you a car upgrade, a manager special that is always an electric car - useless if you are heading to the airport to fly out in the early morning or a $10 upgrade fee for a gas car (not posted anywhere), and finally a charge for gas even though I returned it full and have a receipt to prove it. I will go back to the other two rental companies in town, where I don't have to endure any of this.

10000% DO NOT RECOMMEND!! If I could give this place any lower review than one star. I would give it the manager's name is julie and she is terrible. This Location is responsible for ruining my dad's possible last christmas. Nevermind the fact that Julie refused to take the credit card that the reservation was made with (which was subsequently charged). We canceled our Christmas plans and reserved a vehicle for the most important visit the following Tuesday. (Meeting his brand new baby great grandchild) JULIE said to be there at 8 am. When I got there she said that my reservation wasnt until noon.. (too late for the visit) She then proceeded to choose the wrong size of vehicle repeatedly after being told multiple times that I was needing the largest size to accommodate my dad's collapsible wheelchair. THEN!!! SHE CHARGED my card for the wrong vehicle, and AFTER charging my card, she proceeded to say that the vehicle needed detailed first and would not be ready for hours. Her service is horrendous. 10000% DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Well I guess I'm a little concerned when I come in to reserve a car and they are turning people away because they have no cars for their reservations.
