Dr. Julianne made a house call for my chicken! She was gentle, explained everything she was doing and how I could continue the care after she was gone.

6 weeks ago my dog got sick suddenly. She is 10 years old going on 11 and I knew something wasn't right. I brought her to west hills where she had been before once or twice. They got her in through admitting same day and we started a long 6 week journey of trying to find out what was going on and eventually treating her symptoms to make her comfortable. The quality of care we received was more than I anticipated. I grew up having dogs that my parents rarely took to the vet (luckily they didn't have a whole lot of issues) so the process of veterinary care was relatively new. I was bringing my girl Shanook in 1-2 times a week and multiple calls and texts a week connecting with Dr.Fogarty and Dr.Cole. Last night, after 6 weeks of ups and downs, I knew my girl was tired and done. I called Dr.Cole and we made the choice to let her go. I brought her in and the whole process was so peaceful.. heartbreaking but I know she went peacefully and she wasn't in any pain. I'm so happy that her last trip was with Dr.Cole and it was someone who loved her and knew what a special girl she was. I'm glad she was assisted to heaven by people that knew her and loved her. For all things, I highly recommend this hospital for your pets. Everyone is so kind and they do truly come to care, know and love your pet like it's theirs. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you did for my best girl.

Honestly, I wouldn't go anywhere else. She is ARAV certified, and that definately means a lot. I have to travel about 40 minutes but I know people who travel across the state to see her

*referred to by another veterinarian clinic*They did NOT know if they offered rabbit services even though I was referred to them for services. Snippy lady on the phone. Get as much info as you can from them.

**this review is for an appointment in February 2018** I came to West Hills because I found one of the veterinarians on the fear-free certified list. My dog is anxious especially at the vet office so finding a compassionate vet who would handle him gently was a priority. Unfortunately at the appointment unnecessary force was used by the vet (dragging my dog by his leash and forcefully restraining him on an exam table to take his temperature). The exam left both me and my dog uncomfortable, and the vet commented that the appointment would have gone better "if I had trained him better", even though I had only recently adopted him. This was quite disappointing and hurtful. Some of the blame is on me for not immediately speaking up when the vet first started being forceful. I can be too trusting of professionals and that is my own fault. The three stars are for the vet tech (who was very nice and did her job well), the bureaucratic side of the business (it was very easy to make an appointment, they put together a nice info packet to send home with me and had a nice "portfolio" put together for my pet), and the follow-up; when the vet office heard I was disappointed with how the exam went they did reach out and try to remedy it as much as possible. Unfortunately the forceful handling should not have occurred in the first place. Update: upon seeing my review, the practice manager reached out to check in. She let me know that they have been working more heavily on fear-free practices, including adding a certified trainer to the staff, in the past three years since my last appointment. I appreciate the effort on West Hills part, and I hope that the vet has received help learning how to handle pets without force.

So helpful and goes out of their way to be accommodating for animals and owners. I had an out of state cat emergency and they were fast professional and affordable.

Dr.Vickstrom is a wonderful veterinarian who really cares about her patients, and the care of how their treated. All of our exotic animals see her, and we will continue to go everytime. Very affordable vet care as well!

This is my first time taking a pet to a vet. My little rat had come down with a nasty respiratory infection, and they charged over $70 just to look at him (wasn't an emergency visit). When the doctor did the exam, she gave me a list of treatments that would total $600. An x-ray, putting him on oxygen, antibiotics, anxiety meds, powdered food, and inflammation meds.Now, these are very reasonable for someone that can afford to throw money into their pet rat, and as much as I love him, I decided to only get the antibiotics, powdered food, and inflammation meds. They charged me $115 for the antibiotics and food + the examination. A little high, but I'm glad my friend is getting treatment. The inflammation meds were to be oursourced to a local compounding pharmacy.Its been over 24 hours and they still haven't been able to get the prescription called in for the inflammation meds. My rat was choking, gasping for air, and the doctor made a convincing case for needing lots of treatment, but they can't even fax a prescription after TWO phone calls, yesterday and today. All I can say is that I'm very lucky that my rat is perking up after the antibiotics. Those meds that I was not able to get for my pet could have made the difference if that was not the case. How the hell does it take you over 24 HOURS to send a fax? Get it together before someone's pet dies from your negligence. They close in 30 minutes, so I suspect that I won't be able to send the fax today either.

West Hills Animal Hospital is incredible. We are very picky with Bandit's treatments, and Dr. Eguchi-Coe and the entire West Hills Animal Hospital staff are fantastic. Bandit is rare in that he loves visiting the vet, but he's always excited to get there and even to go in the back. They are attentive, knowledgable, and honest. Whenever we come, they are always on time and get you in and out, but don't rush you if you have questions or concerns to discuss. We wouldn't trust anyone else with Bandit, and have complete peace of mind should he ever need care beyond his normal check up exams and vaccinations.
