I went into Northern star co today to buy my girlfriend a necklace about 30 minutes before they closed and these two women were working there and I heard them talking racist about my skin color, accusing me of stealing and whispering about it because for one I was not stealing and I bought the necklace without an issue and as soon as my girlfriend called them out for talking shit and being racist, they started to be nice Absolutely ridiculous and racist if you’re black, do not go to the store.

This store has the weirdest vibe. I was walking by and went in to check a few things out yesterday. Was almost immediately asked to put my backpack behind the counter which I had no problem with. But the entire time the three women were just staring at me like I was going to steal something. It's the weirdest shopping experience to be in a quiet little store and have three Karens watch your every move in silence. I was thinking about buying something but decided not to because I did not want to have to be around those women for another second. Made my skin crawl.

One of the coolest and most unique stores in Corvallis. I've been shopping there for decades and I've never been treated poorly by the staff. I imagine, due to the small, expensive items they sell they have to be weary of shoplifters. Them asking for you to put your bag behind the counter isn't a big deal.

This is the cutest bohemian energy shop. they sell a variety of Interesting products but not limited to Body Jewelry, trinkets, crystals of all kinds, variety of healing sages, stones. Pocket affirmations, Build ur own jewelry by picking out ur beads and charms. Statement peice clothing with a small neet retro section. Abundance of insence aromas, beautiful dream catchers, Sculptures of various sizes and cute skullybones figures, pendents and 925silver rings in various sizes. Staff is real friendly and patiant. You certainly don't want to miss out on a trip in here!! Definitely the local witch shop. Positive energy

Northern Star has been working to improve their customer service recently in my experience. The manager was willing to hear me out about an experience I had in the store that was less than stellar, which I really appreciated and wanted to make sure that I felt welcomed back to shop there again. Aside from this, I have experienced them gradually making progress to create a more welcoming environment in the store, in general. As far as pricing is concerned, their items have always been fairly priced in my experience.

DO NOT GO HERE, super off putting vibe in there weird weird staff all they do is stare you down and get mad for taking pictures, very uptight entitled people who try to be “welcoming” but are overall just disrespectful, if your sensitive don’t run a business or the business will run you ;)

Pretty good shop, nice quality items with prices on par with online stores pricing (plus you get the benefit of getting to hold the item and inspect it yourself). I mostly buy beading materials there, never had a problem. Not a super big fan of the policy requiring you to leave your bag/purse at the counter but it's not that big of a deal.
