I really like the pharmacist and staff that work here, but they are chronically under staffed causing long lines and long wait times. It is very frustrating to have to wait 45 min just to get up to the window. If something is wrong with your prescription, it will then be an additional long wait time…what is wrong with you Safeway??? Schedule more staff during busy weekend times…Boo on you

The staff are kind but always behind. I don’t know why this is the case but it’s almost impossible to get a prescription the same day it was sent in from this pharmacy. And I called to check on the progress about 10 times with no one answering the phone. I ended up having to go into to check on and being told it was 30 mins from being done so I waited in my car for 40 minutes to be safe only to find out it STILL was not done. I know they are doing their best but when you are in pain and hoping to get a prescription that day, when it was sent in at 10:30am, it’s very hard to be patient. I’ll be looking into changing my pharmacy location.

This pharmacy is the worst! Long slow line only to find out that my medication wasn’t in stock and it might be in the next day. If this was a one off I could understand but it’s not. Time for me to take my business elsewhere.

At first, this was a good pharmacy, nice people, prescriptions filled in a timely manner. Slowly it has gone down the toilet. My prescription has been sitting there for 6 days. I called my insurance, and they said the pharmacy had already got authorization, so putting 30 tabs in a bottle shouldn't take 6 days.. I went in to see why it is taking so long and there was ONE pharmacist who was also the cashier and a long line of baffled people. I went to another pharmacy that takes my insurance and signed up with them.

I see a lot of negative reviews, but feel that not everyone understands the tremendous pressure these people are under. Many local pharmacies have closed, forcing those that remain to serve more patients without more staff. The Safeway pharmacy personnel I deal with appear to be scrambling to do the best they can. In today's economy, I'd hope everyone could sympathize with that.
Sure, I'd rather wait 30 seconds than 10 minutes. Yeah, it would be great if every transaction came off without a hitch. For my part, I feel sorry for the professionals at Safeway (and elsewhere) who know that the conditions of their employment prevent them from meeting the standards they've set for themselves, but do their best anyway.

This pharmacy is the WORST and I would give it 0 stars if I could. There has been numerous occasions where my doctor has called in important medication and they have not filled it until I have come in to pick it up, they then make you wait anywhere from 10 min to over an hour for a prescription that should’ve been filled 24 hours prior. They are severely understaffed and The overall lack of care and urgency is upsetting considering their whole job is to provide people with medications that are clearly important for their wellbeing. Why even have this pharmacy open if you don’t have enough staff or patience to deal with customers. Go literally anywhere else if you want to get your medication on time.

I have given this pharmacy 20 years of grace through the challenges of COVID and beyond. I have only used this location for this long because of the convenience of it in proximity to my home, not because of any stellar service. However, my medication needs have changed and it is imperative that they do not lapse. I have been left without my medication, through no fault of my own and only due to staff inattention and delay. They can’t seem to ever get it together. To add insult to injury, I have never received an apology for the errors that have left me suffering without important medications for a day or more—numerous times—despite the many conversations I had with them to try to prevent it. The final straw was this weekend when they sent a text notification that a critical med was ready for pick up, just before they closed for the Labor Day holiday. The medication is on auto refill and had been confirmed days before, allowing plenty of time to refill it. Isn’t the point of auto refills to allow them to anticipate and account for refills and adjust for holidays? Shouldn’t one expect that they have the ability to recognize when medications have a drop dead refill date that occurs during a closed holiday and prioritize it? There is just no excuse for it, though the staff person I spoke to today actually blamed it on ME for not knowing that their system wouldn’t account for the holiday and I “should have called them to alert them that I would be out.” Can you believe that? Like I’m supposed to just infer that they were going to alert me with no way to pick it up before they closed? I mean isn’t confirming a refill request, confirmation that they understand that the med is about to be out? 3 days should more than sufficient time to get a med refilled and if not, send the dang refill request confirmation text earlier and start it earlier! I fully expected a text alert to come through to pick it up sometime during the day before they closed, not only MINUTES before! It seemed like a staff that wanted to close out before they went home, because the text that my RX was ready for pick up, could not have possibly been picked up before they closed. How many years can they use the excuse that they are “short staffed” and amass such terrible reviews before it’s obvious that they just don’t give a damn? Either staff it sufficiently or close it down. They are going to kill someone. I am transferring all of my remaining prescriptions to Rice’s Pharmacy, which has shown me time and time again how a competent pharmacy is run and highlights Safeway’s broken corporate systems and incompetent staffing in comparison. I will never allow Safeway the opportunity to take my well being for granted again, convenient location or not. I’m bringing all of my business to a small locally owned pharmacy that has always treated me with respect and dignity. I’m done with Safeway Pharmacy. Anyone with elderly family members dependent on life saving medications should consider using this pharmacy with the utmost caution—better yet, avoid it completely.

So much better than the former BiMart pharmacy now run by Walgreens!

Long waits. Staff is nice but no backup when there are many people waiting.

Called 10 times. Each time the message said call back, so I did. I would not go there except they carry the medication my wife needs and my pharmacy doesn’t. I will call more as of yet they still haven’t answered!

Always love coming into this Safeway, especially during the week with my kids! They look forward to coming in and going to see Mr. Mark in the produce section. The man is just a delight every time and he always makes them feel special! Food is always well-stocked and I love coming in in the evening if I haven’t made bread for dinner and getting the fresh baked garlic bread to add to our meal. We also love the gas perks here!

I booked an appt for a vaccination. When I got there, there was a bit of a line and my heart sank. But the pharmacist was amazing. Got everyone through the line very efficiently. After I checked in, I resigned to wait for however long but it was only a few minutes and I got the injection and off I went. I realize at Safeway, the experience can vary depending on who's on staff, but mine was excellent. I would recommend doing as much online as possible. Because I'd booked the appt, it greatly saved on paperwork time.
