Possibly one of the worst gas stations I've ever been to. Dirty, smelly and an over whelming feeling of being leered at. Restroom was any females nightmare.

Very good place with parking for trucks and free showers if you put diesel also free drink, it is clean and very good price of diesel especially if you use the Mudflap App they accept it here, I recommend it.

Cottage Grove is a special junction for my family, having great great grandparents that settled in Drain in the early 1900s. We had family reunions here for generations. i lived here in the mid 00s, and even had a radio show on the local community radio station.
i have stopped at this Chevron more times than i could ever count. It has been a personal destination of mine since i first started driving from Washington State to California in the mid 1990s. Whether to get gas, or supplies.
This morning was my first time in many years going on a roadtrip by myself, AND actually walking into a gas station all by myself with my walker. i am returning back to the Upper Cascades from a driving trip for a family wedding in Mendocino.
i have been severely disabled in chronic pain, bedridden and in a specialized wheelchair, for over 14 years. Recently, in the last few months, i have been making progress with walking again [very carefully, with a walker]. i am slow and careful, but steady and strong. It took me almost a whole hour to just get inside the Gateway Chevron store and get back inside my van.
Inside, i wanted to buy more than a coffee. i looked at the neck pillows, and did not see a pattern that i was stoked on. i was interested in getting a cap…. but they were very high up and difficult to see.
The lady behind the counter [“Trisha” on the receipt] was impatient and irritated with me. i askt if they had any other “Dont Tread on Me” hats. She said she has no idea what hats they have. “i don’t keep track,” she said. i would have bought a magnet or a hat or or sticker or something. …but the rush was eminent, and the vibe was cruel.
The debit card machine was flat on the counter, so from sitting in my walker chair, it was hard to see the screen. it was not easy. She angrily barked at me about pressing the right buttons. Many buttons to press. She was just really rude, and it was flustering and painful for me. i had to stand up to figure out the machine. i move slow, i read slow. i was trying to explain to her that “this is my first time out by myself in 14 years…” → i wanted to tell her that i am not accustomed to the credit machines…. and i wished I could tell her i am slow with a brain injury, too. But she did not even care.
i left feeling as if i was going to burst into tears.
But then i realized, Trisha probably needs prayers for her. So instead of crying, i left praying. However, i will likely not be stopping at this Chevron ever again.

Showers were expensive ($12) for one person and only one person at a time. No couples. The facilities were clean though.

No windshield washer scrubbers/squeegees. Receipt ink is so light, it's almost illegible. Worst truck stop I've been to yet.
