I was specifically told " call in prescription from doctors offices are our last priority".
so if you need any medications definitely don't go to this safeway.

I recently moved back to my hometown of Cottage Grove. I was excited to start shopping again at the Safeway store I helped open up almost 30 years ago. At the time of opening, this was considered a flagship store. Man, was I ever disappointed. Today their produce section was at most 1/3 full of produce with no employees visible in that department. I remember when there used to be at least four employees in produce all the time - and they would cut up fruit to sample and interact with customers. I walked by two other employees stocking shelves and smiled at them, they just ignored me. I remember when employees would ask if you were finding everything alright and walk you to the item.
I then went to check out, and they only had one cashier working, with four or five customers in her line. I opted to go to the self checkout. Now, I may not be the smartest person, but I’ve been operating self checkout machines with no problems for over 10 years. Your machines kept making me wait for someone to hit a button to clear whatever error I was having - mostly caused by using my own bags. I’ve never had this issue in other stores. Each time I had to wait for someone to appear to click some buttons. I remember when we had every checkout line staffed by checkers and each line staffed by courtesy clerks. They would bag your groceries, thank you by last name and insist on taking your groceries to your car. None of that happens now.
The sad thing is, I am only 44 years old. It’s not like I am reminiscing about the 1920s or something. There is nothing special about this store any longer. In fact I will now just drive to Eugene to buy my groceries as I refuse to give my money to a store that clearly doesn’t care if they get it.
