I ditched my China made Traeger and bought my Mak 8 years ago and I use it A LOT. It is still working like a champ, and I've never had a broken part or issue.
I've called Mak a few times with questions and I get blown away every time an actual human being answers the phone (it once took me over 2 hours to wait for help when I called Traeger). They are grateful for their customers and are very helpful.
Buy this solid, American made pellet grill. It will be the best grilling investment you make. And, the last one you make.

Absolutely the best company. I have a ten year old two star and was having troubles. Brought it by since I live less than an hour away and they cleaned it up and took care of it for me. The service over the years has been outstanding. My grill still functions as new, actually with some of the updates, better than when it was new. It looks like it did ten years ago except some use. No rust, no wearing out. This will be a lifetime grill. Remember that when you think about going another route. Those other grills will end up scrapped several times over by the time the Mak wears out and you will lose money in the long run!

I've been using a C*mp Ch*f smoker for years. I just switched over to MAK and it blows my old smoker out of the water. It heats up quick, maintains a great temp, and is easy to clean and work with. On top of that, their customer service is top-notch! I cannot recommend MAK highly enough. Kudos to them - they have another devotee!

What an amazing grill. I’ve had mine for five or seven years now. I upgraded from the common treager and I can tell you - this is the Ferrari of pellet grills. Not only is the grill amazing, so is the company. For example. I had a question so I called their number. Dennis answered, he was polite, knowledgeable and perfectly helpful. What made it even better is that a few days later, Dennis called back to check in and see if everything was fine and working out (which it was) and to see if I had any other questions. I don’t think I’ve had customer service like that in so long I can’t remember. If you’re on the fence. Buy the damn grill. You won’t regret it.

Got my MAK 2 star about a year before Covid. No issues except a few flame outs at really low temp on long cooks. I just up the temp 10 degrees to 235/240 and no issues. I have only used the grill portion once or twice but it worked. Luckily I have a black stone and a big Joe for that. The MAK is by far the best smoker I have ever found.

We've had the 2 Star for just over 3 years now. We use Bear Mt Hickory pellets and make sure we dump pellets during raining weather or if we don't use the pellet grill daily. I haven't had to dump pellets in a while now :) Used to not be a big veggie eater, now we just nuke the veggies and roast them in the MAK with olive oil, salt, and pepper. I call it candy. Brussel sprouts have never tasted better. If I get feisty I might put some grated cheese on the cauliflower and broccoli. We make pizza like it's no one's business. I buy pre-made dough from winco and top with veggies. Pre-heat the pizza stone in the MAK while it's warming to 400, then add the pizza using a peel with parchment under the dough. Cook 5 min, remove parchment, then finish up for a crispy, perfect pizza. We make up to 3 pizzas at a time with only 1 extra grate. I could actually make 4 at a time. Our savings alone in pizza has been about $500 a year (2 pizza fixings plus pellets for a cost of about $10 every other week vs $30 pizza every other week). Crazy, right? Expensive? Oh yeah! Healthier and cost savings over time? You bet! Made in Oregon? We only make the best :)

I’ve had pellet grills for 15 years went thru 2 other competitors grills. They died and didn’t get the job done as well as Mak. The construction of the Mak grill is just the best the features are ones others try to duplicate. The flame zone takes this grill into the all around bbq machine. Low and slow with an abundance of smoke or 500 plus to sear your steaks. Plus and additional smoker box to warm your food or smoke cheese or nuts etc. What’s not to love. The Mak mobile gives you grill control no matter where you are. You set the temperature it gets there quickly then keeps it there all night long. Love my Mak. Made in Oregon out of American material. Kiss those Chinese boxes good bye. Smoke on

Update 9/5/2021: Two of our thermometers failed, contacted support and they tested them and also found them to be defective and mailed us out two replacements. Such fantastic support. And the smoker/grill is just as good as their support - cooks evenly and is built to last.Original review: Have had two previous pellet smokers from a different company. Got tired of the problems with pellet advancement and maintaining temperatures and looked around for something of quality. MAK is definitely quality - really thick metal, good welded joints, makes amazing smoke and “just works”. Have had a MAK 2 star now for about 7 months and it has been amazing. Costs a lot but has sure been worth it. I think this thing will last for many, many years. So happy with it. And my contacts with the company about the grill get answered quickly by people that actually know what they are doing (ie not just some far off call center).

These grills are just absolutely amazing. Really well made and smokes/grills really evenly without hot spots and is efficient on pellet-use. I've only had one problem with the grill and that was that the two temperature probes failed - support was really fast and had us mail them in and sent us replacement probes. Just really happy with the quality of the grill and the support. We have recommended several people to buy from them. We have the 2 star General that is now about a year old, and is perhaps our favorite kitchen tool. We use it 2-3 times a week to smoke and grill most everything. MAK Grills just needs to come out with a pizza oven now...
