I met Wally by chance when ordering an alternator for my Trailblazer at Advance Auto Parts. I needed someone to install it and he said he'd do that day for a very reasonable price. It's was done quickly and lower than he quoted. We got into a cooling issues with the kids car and he did that as well, again excellent work. I'm a history nut and Wally and I have shot the poo on that subject as well when I'm down there. He's a great guy, great wrench and an asset to the community with his personal knowledge about things. I highly recommend Wally if you need work done.

It has been over 4 years since I last reviewed Wally's Automotive and Repair and since then I've used his services many more times on my van, car and truck, transmission, brakes, engines, catalytic converter and other issues. He has even helped me sell cars when it has been time to get rid of them. I have a lot of older vehicles which get a lot of mileage and not as good of care as some of them should get thanks to my wife who won't even tell me when she runs low on wiper fluid, or ask the service station attendant to check her oil level, or told me when she's getting close to the mileage on her oil change sticker. Still, Wally has never let me down. He has always fixed my cars right the first time, and saved me a lot of money over dealership prices while giving me better service. There's something else you should know. Wally doesn't work because he needs to. He has already retired and sat at home for a few months, got bored, then opened up his shop again just because he loves to work on cars and loves to help people. From the moment you hear Wally's voice, you'll see that he really undersells himself. He's just not interested in trying to impress anybody. But don't be fooled. Give this guy a chance. Choose him to work on your car and you'll see that he'll do a great job at a fair price and do it right. He's got decades of knowledge and experience. I have yet to see him misdiagnose anything or even be off a little bit. You know how sometimes you take a car in and it turns out there are two or more things wrong that are creating a problem and the mechanic fixes one of them but doesn't catch the others and so the problem goes away for a while but comes right back? For example, a bad battery and a bad alternator. If you put in a new battery, the car is going to run fine for a while, but in short order it dies again with the same problem because the mechanic didn't find out that the alternator needed to be rebuilt or replaced as well. So now you need another battery. This kind of problem has never happened to me with Wally. He's always thorough. Catches everything.

I always go to Wally. He's done a lot of work on my cars and pickup and it's always done right and when I get a second opinion before having work done, I have always found that Wally is right and the dealerships or other service experts are wrong. Wally knows cars better than anyone I know and he's a no BS kind of guy who charges absolutely fairly and honestly.
