Breitenbush is a place where we can return and soothe our bodies and souls, relax, and view Nature.

Absolutely magical stay for my first trip to Breitenbush. Extremely well maintained, with comfortable and very simple accommodations, a lovely old lodge, and gorgeous surroundings. Managed to catch it through one of the biggest snowfalls on record and it was an unforgettable experience.

I wouldn't recommend this business. I left more exhausted then refreshed due to their poor customer service, lack of amenities and inflated price.Update: The business has responded, but instead of addressing the issues, they are making baseless assumptions about my grievances being related to other guests, which is entirely untrue. To clarify, the problem was not noise from other guests but rather the consistently poor customer service from all staff members I interacted with, coupled with the lack of amenities despite staying in a queen suite, and an exorbitant price tag of approximately $500 for just two nights. This supposed spa retreat felt more like a camping experience gone wrong. When I requested a trash bag for the queen suite I paid for, the staff's response was dismissive and mocking. Celebrating my birthday with my boyfriend, we found ourselves playing card games in the main lodge during a snowfall. When I inquired about starting a fire for a cozy atmosphere, the staff treated it as an inconvenience. The person who checked us in saw us during their smoke break and casually mentioned not completing necessary paperwork during our check-in that they forgot to do.Navigating the unlit pathways at night was challenging, and the staff's indifference added to the overall unpleasant experience. The somber and rude attitude of the staff was consistent throughout. The total cost for this subpar experience, amounting to around $500 for just two nights, was unjustified. Everything within the facilities, from the low-pressure showers to the absence of trash bags in our suite, felt disappointingly cheap.Notably, the spa even charged $3 per towel, adopting a subscription-based model for something as basic as towel usage at a spa. Ironically, there was a basket in the lobby with towels left by guests for free use, but they were visibly dirty and stepped on in the mud. This neglect raises concerns about hygiene, potentially exposing users to health risks such as staph contamination. This was my first trip to Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat and it was my last.

Driving into Breitenbush I could only imagine how wonderful and beautiful it must’ve been before the fire. They didn’t stop the amazing beauty and friendship the facility shows and gives once you arrive. The Groves are wonderful little sleeping, quarters that set a mood of relaxation and comfortability. The lodge and the staff is amazing. Some of the best vegan and vegetarian food I’ve ever experienced for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would recommend these hot springs to anybody he’s looking for rejuvenation and a reset of positive energy.

I could not recommend this place enough! The stuff is amazing, the food is delicious, and the energy is outstanding ?. I have one of the best weekends. It is definitely an opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with nature and yourself. Do yourself a favor and book a night or two!! You won't regret it :)Rooms: It was very modest and simple, which was the detail I loved the most.Food & drinks: Vegetarian meals. There is plenty of food and variety. Fresh and tasty

Hadn’t stayed overnight for 5 years. Lots of changes since the fire 2019. The new cabins in The Grove are warm and very comfortable. The view will improve once vegetation returns. The spiral tubs, sauna, meadow pools and private bath tubs are all wonderful. Food was great. Staff was helpful and friendly. The evening programs were a plus: yoga, historic talk and intuitive tarot. I leave feeling rested and revived. Thank you, Brietenbush, for surviving!

Love it here. My partner and I have gone twice this year and it’s a great way for us to relax from our busy lives and decompress. We have stayed in the new cabin which was simple but cozy and it stayed toasty with the geothermal heat. On our second visit we camped at one of the bring your own tent sites which was next to a beautiful meadow that was great for star gazing at night. Service was great, food was yummy and healthy. My partner particularly liked the vegan ranch and I’ve been trying to recreate it at home for him to no avail. Their facilities were very clean and I noticed them cleaning the pools frequently. We will be back again soon!

Overall, I really like Breitenbush: the scenery, the hot springs, the delicious food, kind people. Been coming for the past 15 years.HOWEVER, I just returned from a two-day stay and I’m sorry to say I had a relatively poor experience. I woke up this morning at 3am with a pounding headache and it was so strong that I wasn’t able to get back to sleep. I eventually found my way to the lodge hoping I could access some painkillers that are typically on sale in the gift shop. I sat in the empty lodge for about five hours, waiting for staff to arrive. I knew the gift shop was closed for inventory (they told me upon arrival), but I hoped they’d sell me $1 worth of pill packs to alleviate the jackhammer in my head. I hardly ever have headaches, and while it’s true that it’s not their responsibility to have these on hand, I was pretty surprised by what happened next. When I finally found a staff member around 9am and asked if I could please buy some painkillers (I told her about the severity of the pain and that I’d been camped out waiting for them to arrive). They told me that I wouldn’t be able to until the gift shop opened THREE and a half hours later. I was standing feet from the only relief within a 40-min radius and they wouldn’t let me have it. I can’t imagine doing that to someone (I run vacation rental and it’s unfathomable to me). I understand folks are just doing their jobs and I certainly didn’t want to mess up inventory, but seriously? I was in severe pain and had barely slept. When she said no, I felt like crying.Consequently, I ended up leaving the retreat center to find Advil asap. I left a full five hours (and one delicious meal that I’d already paid for) before I intended to. Given that I paid $284 for two nights (out in the cold on a pretty uncomfortable foam mat, mind you), I would have hoped the staff could have been a bit more accommodating.Word to the wise: bring any extra thing you think you might need because it’s pretty remote and you may not be able to buy it in the lodge. Also, the foam mattresses are pretty uncomfortable/lacking in support so bring your own inflatable if you can.Nearby activities: Hot springs are greatFood & drinks: Meals are always delicious although they run out of things at times.

Women’s quiet weekend— I arrived by myself for some recovery and soul healing. I pitched my own tent in a very quiet spot. Only 3 others in the BYOT area. The food is amazing. It felt like my mom cooked her love into the food, and I felt taken care of. The staff is amazing and friendly. (I have an allergy to soy, so I worried about a balanced diet and getting enough protein, but I never felt that my meal was lacking.)I felt 100% safe, 100% of the time. There is a lot of walking. With my health issues, 4 days kind of wore me out. It appears the staff can drive you around in a little golf cart if you have mobility issues. Please don’t let your physical limitations keep you from this magical place.4 days of just women, colorful, healthy food, deer and grouses, and naked soaking and lounging. It can’t be beat. When was the last time you’ve sat in all your naked glory and taken in the beauty of the PNW? This is top tier level of self care.I definitely recommend coming with a partner/friend. I enjoyed my alone time, but as a social person it felt lonely at times. Fortunately, I think that alone time/loneliness is what I needed at the time.A beautiful, sacred place. My heart breaks for those who knew/loved this place before the fires. I can only imagine the beauty before.Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, and for your warm, welcoming hospitality!Safety: First time I’ve ever camped solo and felt absolutely safe.

Breitenbush used to be accessible to everyone. Really sad that it’s just a retreat for the wealthy now. $400 for just a spot to park your camper van overnight. $500+ for a room. Seems like they’ve completely changed their model to only cater to the upper class. Sadly I doubt I will ever go back

The reason we chose to stay at Breitenbush Campground last Monday night was the intent to visit the hot springs the next day.No luck there. They were fully booked and the lady at reception was unwelcoming and blowing us off. Any questions we had were met with one answer: go online and check the website.??With other words: I'm too busy to do "whatever" to talk to potential future guests. So, we left and don't plan to come back.

As an almost 30 year veteran of Breitenbush (started going up in ‘93 while studying with the Oregon School of Massage) I have loved everything about it. To the point of for a short time being a fill-in for an event they had for 3 weeks years ago. Because I have loved it for so long some of my past clients gifted me time there I was unable to use for a few years for various reasons. Now I have an opportunity to go back. For weeks now I have been trying multiple ways to speak with someone over the phone as our email interactions were super unclear and did not answer my questions. To no avail. I have been on their web site and see they have raised their rates to a point almost unaffordable by most. I have to agree with the previous post sent by the past CEO of Breitenbush saying they’ve sold out and gone corporate. After weeks of attempting to get answers about whether they show my gifts and if so how much, so I know before I schedule I have decided they are no longer service oriented.

Our room was small, rustic (as we expected) but poorly ventilated. Meals ranged from excellent (taco Thursday) to disappointing (cold oatmeal). Price seems quite high for what you get. Beautiful setting, great soaking pools.
