These people were so rude to me. I was told to come pick up some things my friend couldn't have that she had forgotten were in her bag. The red headed older gentleman was so rude to me, I walked out, called my friend, and someone told me friend to tell me to go back inside and wait for her. Upon doing so, (THEY) the staff told me I couldn't wait there. However, I stood my grand and in just a few moments another gentleman with shoulder length brown hair and glasses, came out and said to me, "staff thinks you are acting intoxicated, or something, that they can smell alcohol in you." But HE couldn't smell it on me cuz he, "does not have a good sense of smell!" I had not drunk ANY alcohol that day AT ALL! Then he asked about my friends waiting for me outside....I haven't been so offended by people that help the homeless, EVER, and me being homeless on top of all this made it that much worse
And THEN...I talked to my friend today and I want to know WHY SHE IS COLD and cannot sleep at night BECAUSE she is cold, because all they gave her was one small (my friend is as lil larger than most) thin blanket to sleep with. Shea trying to improve her life by entering the women's program but if she's not allowed extra blankets of her own, then how can she be comfortable staying there!!
It's soo cold inside that even the staff is complaining, but at least they get to wear their coats! Their treatment to residents and residents friends that are supportive is unacceptable!! I don't know what has happened to the mission, but it feels like a cold heartless place to be for people like me...

2024. They aren’t doing a Thanksgiving meal for the community this year. It is only being offered to the people that are residents of the mission. Kind of a “thanks for keeping our pockets lined” reward.
The local mission, in any city or town, is supposed to be a place for the low income community to come to as a whole and receive help. Even on Holidays. Barring a hot holiday meal from others just because they do not live there is despicable.

What the ladies running.this place have done to it -- turning one of the most loving, accepting, and free missions in the country into a jail cell -- is inhumane and heartless -- sadistic, actually. This is likely the results of the national coalition to end homelessnese's policy of using federal dollars to bribe shelters away from following their hearts [or the will of their donors] by putting people as a collective whole first in favor of promoting their cultural preference -- the domestic 'housing first' agenda which would have us throw the majority under the bus just to pasteurize a few .
We know what doesn't work, because its not a housing issue -- it's a family issue. Depriving people of their street family by taking the living room away from them is a cruel abuse of power by heartless feminists. True feminists were those of the 1800's who were communalists who promoted environments which brought people and things together, and healed people holistically as members of a community rather than as individuals who awaited helplessly for case workers to descend from above with their compartmentalized 'solutions'. The ladies who have overtaken this place are destroyers not creators. They care about job security and worldly status not human or spiritual wellbeing.

Well, there's a woman's side and a man's side. As a Christian organization, their great at taking every kind of person in and housing them. Esp my Service Animal and I. I'm most grateful for that. My only serious issue(s) is the appearance of control they seem to have and that most women that come through here have and were dealing with domestic abuse but they'll allow men to have bunks on the women's side and vice versa! What kind of silly sounding excuse they have for letting men choose where they prefer to sleep is mind boggling, I'll say as a survivor of DA. It seems they have fallen in w society's view of "whatever you view yourself as, you must be", which is in fact them saying, "although we want to protect everyone(there are cameras just about everywhere) we don't mind if our women guests are extremely uncomfortable when they are trying to sleep because an obvious man is less than 5 ft from them!" This place is a Godsend, though they have decided to live in other people's mental instabilities, or whatever the mens' reasonings are, though aren't there security cameras on the men's side!?! This is a temporary and pretty helpful place, for most, but trusting a place like this and deciding to stay past the 14 days, now has standards for us temporarily staying here. Besides things looking like possible drug dealing going on and a woman showing by "video call", the facility she was in (my face possibly visible!) to someone who she had a bad relationship with. I know most of these people are not mentally well, and as thankful as I am for this place, you do see the cracks. If this sounds like a Karen complaining, then it sounds like a Karen complaining but I'm a Karen living in a homeless shelter.

Only place I would go for emergency shelter. Out of all the places I been to in the past I would avoid Portland Oregon avoid Albuquerque New Mexico and definitely not Tucson Arizona. Medford Oregon varies if they like you or not. With my experience being homeless I recommend Eugene Mission because they helped me with employment and housing.

They aren't a Christian group. The quote bible verses but don't live by them. They don't really want to help. I didn't do anything wrong and they won't help me.

These guys are awesome. They're helping people everyday. I needed help with transportation and they helped me get a bike. If you're in a position where you're starting over or in need of help...these guys are there.

Unfairly boots people for no reason. There used to be a 3 month rule for bans which was bad enough, but they have since doubled it. I even got booted for defending two people who also got unfairly booted. It's time to tax religious organizations.

The Mission is where I take clothes and household goods that no longer serve me. They have a positive attitude about getting help to those who really want to change their lives for the better. I'll always support that.
