Kayla is the hair professional here at the salon. She is a delightfully warm and compassionate person who is completely dedicated to giving you the hair style color or cut that you want. She is also a fascinating person and a good listener. I will continue to use her services. Another plus, for me, is that her products are all organic and natural. Can't get any better than that, can't it?

Kayla is a brilliant heart and a legitimate hair genius. She listens, has the best energy, and color and cut skills for miles. She managed my color correction/addition/short and long term hair goal asks with so much expertise, and I'm so grateful that I found her.

If you look closely, these reviews are from 3 years ago. This salon is currently owned and run by a different person Kayla. I didn’t have a good experience. She didn’t really listen to me about what I wanted or have the expertise to give good advice/style my hair. Also she seemed to rush the job while being the very chatty the whole time. Was not a relaxing experience.

I had a great experience! Sitting in Kayla's chair was a real treat, she is so easy to talk too. I e joked every minute. Oh! And she did a great job on my hair too!

Writing a review here because all of Kayla's excellent reviews are on her website, which you would never see if you weren't looking for her there. The info on Yelp is out of date...Kayla is now the owner and is just an amazingly warm, easy to chat with, gal who also does a fabulous job with organic color. She has her own space within Sola salon and I highly recommend her for all of your non-stinky, feel-good-about-the-products-you-put-on-your-body needs!

I loved how Melissa was open to anything and cut my hair pretty much how I wanted it! She's also a very "real" person, not fake or phony. I liked how she seemed honest about what will or won't work for certain hair types. The first thing that I found impressive was walking in and not being choked by toxic fumes! Being somebody that is extremely sensitive to perfumes, that was a welcomed blessing! She uses non-toxic products, YAY!I didn't want a complicated style (I think?), but it seemed so hard to find a hairdresser in Eugene that listened. Even if I brought pictures for examples, they would just go and do whatever they wanted, which turned out nothing like the examples I showed them. Most of them wouldn't even ask what I wanted and did whatever they felt like it. They said they knew how to work with my hair type but the results always said otherwise. The last time I got a haircut before finding Melissa, it was so bad I grew it all out for nearly 2 years before braving the sea of hairdressers on google/yelp listings.I have rather coarse but very thin Asian hair and almost every time I'd get a haircut, they'd thin it out more with lots of back layers. Having coarse hair, it made it more noticeable that I had thin hair after they put in the layers. She asked me if those layers were what I wanted and I told her no, then she responded something like "good, because I wouldn't recommend it." THANK YOU! She blunted out those ugly layers the other day when I visited. She also doesn't shove every product possible in your face and pressure you to buy them even if don't need it! I'm so tired of being asked to buy this and that because half the time I'm gullible enough to believe that I do need it, only to fill up my cabinets with barely-used bottles of product! Melissa also taught me that it is best to get your hair cut about every quarter to help it grow out in a healthy fashion.Since I'll be moving out of the area soon, I'll miss her (even though I only saw her twice). But if I am in the area and need a hair cut, I'd definitely check her schedule for an opening!

Melissa has a rare talent for knowing exactly what you need. She can take good or bad and make it great. I never go anywhere else and I have 3 other people I brought with me. They all love her too. We're fans for life.

Melissa is professional, personable, and extremely talented. I trust her with my entire family's hair cuts. She uses the best organic products and knows everything about them. Highly recommended.

Great experience. Clean products. Ammonia free color that has NO SMELL and makes my hair feel super healthy. She's the only local colorist that uses really clean products. Melissa is super sweet and knows the line she uses well. Totally recommend.

Very talented woman with strictly vegan, cruelty-free hair products. The only downside is that it's salon prices for a non-salon experience. If you're expecting a luxe waiting room or glass of Prosecco, you're in the wrong place. I had viewed the previous photos of the salon (not realizing that's no longer the salon) and had a difficult time finding the place. The salon is located inside sort of a dormitory of salons. Small rooms rented out independently. The prices seem quite high for the atmosphere. Not sure if I'll be back. I like my highlights with a glass of Prosecco and a comfortable waiting room.
