My car's new battery would be dead every morning. So I took it to James, who had previously attempted to help me fix it over the phone. Of course we couldn't duplicate the problem, even though they kept my car for 4 days to see if it would act up again. Of course it didn't but James helped me check my fuses, kept my car safe for 4 days s (I was out of town anyway), and was an honest enough man to confess they couldn't find anything, didn't try and make something up, and did not charge me one red cent. If a company is willing to go to those lengths ands not even bill me for diagnostics.. Gave me some solid advice on what to look for, and politely wished me good day. I can't believe it took 39 years to find a shop that wasn't always trying to sneak in something . They have earned my loyalty!

Always great customer service. The mechanics are honest, and they stand by their work. I recommend this shop to anyone who needs to have their vehicle fixed. I will happily drive the 45 minutes to go to this specific shop.

I was taking my car here for several years and initially was very happy with service and prices. However, a little over a year ago my car overheated. I took it to them to look at and they charged me a fair amount but indicated everything was evaluated and fixed. 3 months later my car overheats again - when I’m out of town getting ready for my wedding day. I had to take my car to Midas in a pinch just so I could drive it back home to Eugene. I called Oakmont and explained what had happened and they said I could bring it in for them to look at but if my car wasn’t actively overheating they likely wouldn’t be able to identify the problem. This seemed ridiculous and at this point I was concerned about paying more for a temporary fix and had lost trust in them. I took my car to Randall’s Automotive and they evaluated my car and turns out my head gasket was blown and that was the issue. Have not had any issues since.Services: General repairs & maintenance

I consider myself very lucky to have found Oakmont Service Center. It's darn near impossible to find an honest, helpful, reasonable and down to earth mechanic. Mike and Jerry will always go above and beyond to chase down the source of a problem; large (air conditioner compressor) and small ( weird noises). Every single employee at this business is pleasant and professional. Haven't gone to the dealer (starts with K) but once since I moved to Eugene in 2018. And that's been a blessing, because the service there is-like most dealerships-very expensive and very impersonal. Kudos to Oakmont Service Center for keeping it real.

Great shop. Honest, moral, professional, and efficient. They always take care of my car and don't over charge me. My car had starting issues. Instead of charging me for a new battery they saw the battery was still under warranty from the mfg, so they went through the trouble of getting warranty to take care of it, which I didn't know was still available. They lost a lil money but gained more trust!

I thought we had found our mechanic. Let me start by saying Mike is super nice and seems to want to do the right thing....that is until we were ghosted twice in the last six months. They won't return phone calls, yelp messages or emails. 10/8/19 - took car in for check engine light. Front catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Paid $531.93. 10/10/19 - check engine light back on. Took car back and was told technician "forgot" to reconnect some hoses. 7/16/20 - check engine light came on. No availability until Friday, 7/24. I asked if I could be the first appointment and they said yes, so they scheduled me for 8:30. 7/24/20 - Dropped car off at 8:30. Didn't hear from anyone all day. Called at 3:00 and Jerry said they didn't have enough time to fully look at it yet, but they already knew the O2 sensors needed to be replaced along with a valve cover gasket and sparkplugs but he'd call me back. Quoted $1531 for spark plugs, valve cover gasket, both O2 sensors, ignition coil and the front catalytic converter. When I asked about the catalytic converter being under warranty, Jerry said he hadn't checked the car history and he'd have to call me back with a new quote, but it "wouldn't be today." They had the car all day. I was the first appointment. How did no one have time to look at my car? 7/27/20 - Still hadn't heard anything so I called. Was told by Jerry that he hadn't had time to requote and he'd call me back. End of the day he called me and said it turned out I was right, and they would replace the catalytic converter at no charge, but if I didn't want this to happen again I had to have all the other things he mentioned done. I agreed and asked for the new quote, which he said would be $815. 8/3/20 - Jerry calls and says while they have my car up, if they should do an oil change. At this point I felt like it should have been thrown in to make things right, but no. Another $42+ added to my expensive repair. Car was done so I picked it up, paid $857.59 and went on my way. I get home and see there is no catalytic converter replacement on the invoice. 8/4/20 - Emailed Oakmont to ask for the invoice showing the cat converter replacement. No response. 8/6/20 - Check engine light back on. Called and spoke with Mike and asked about it. I was told, once the O2 sensors were replaced, they retested and the car was good so we were good to go. So in other words, I was lied to when I was told the part would be replaced, lied to when Jerry said if I didn't want this to happen again I needed to have them repair the long list of things he mentioned and lied to all week when I was told they were still waiting for the part and lied to when it was not disclosed that the part was never replaced. I mentioned the check engine light and was told to bring the car in and IF that's what it is they will replace it. Brought the car in that day and was told that is indeed what it was and they'd order the part and made an appointment for me to bring the car back on Wednesday, 8/12. 8/17/20 - Car ready. Went to pick it up and Jerry handed me my keys offering no receipt. I asked for one because I want to feel secure knowing I have a secondary warranty. He said he didn't know how to do that and I insisted. He gave me one showing it was replaced at no charge. 11/12/20 - Check engine light back on. Took it to AutoZone to test it and comes back with the same code as the previous three times. P0420 Catalyst system low efficiency bank 1 (replace catalytic converter) 11/13/20 - Called and asked if I could speak with Mike and I gave him a quick rundown of my experience, letting him know the check engine light came back on. He said I would be dealing with him personally. 11/18/20 - Mike got down to bottom of issue....cat that was being ordered was the wrong one for the emissions system of the car. He ordered direct from MFR. 12/4/20 - Car fixed and ready. 7/21/21 - brought car in for sputtering. It was a knock sensor. 8/6/21 - Knock sensor replaced. 8/10/21 - Car spu

After our auto repair shop closed unexpectedly during the pandemic, we found Oakmont Service Center in Eugene after trying out a couple of Volvo repair shops. We didn’t need service yet, but already have a very good impression of the owner, Mike. Our car‘s defective battery was installed by the previous mechanic less than two years ago, after calling insurance roadside services to jump the car three times, we were told by a chain company that we needed a new battery. We checked with Mike. He told us to go to ASP to carry out the battery exchange. We did it without being out of pocket for any extra money. It is hard to find such an honest and helpful mechanic nowadays. We will be a loyal customers. BTW, Mike and James at ASP were super nice and helpful, too.

Towed my car there the day before my appointment With them to fix my breaks, over a week later they fixed it. Shocked I owed $1250 mike was nice enough to worked with me on the price I was thankful. I ended up paying $1088 and started to drive it home and broke down couple blocks away. The car died so thought I had a dead battery so I went and got a new battery only to find out my alternator is now bad. Just find it strange my car broke down 3 blocks after leaving the repair shop and I never had a problem with the alternator before. Car is still broke down just have a new problem now.

I absolutely love this shop! I first started coming here to support a friend who started working in the shop about 10 years ago and quickly came to appreciate everyone. They are honest and fair, values you don't see often anymore! I refuse to take my car anywhere else and always recommend them to anyone looking for a good mechanic.Services: Brakes
