Huge shoutout to the REI team in Eugene for going above and beyond! After my Thule roof rack keys were stolen, Luca and Katie teamed up to help me out—trying what looked like hundreds of keys to find one that worked with my locks. I left them to the challenge while I shopped, and to my amazement, they cracked the code!
Not only did they find a working key, but they also removed the old locks and installed new ones—all with great attitudes and no sign of frustration, despite how long it took. They made me feel like helping me was a priority, not a hassle.
I also want to thank the manager in the bike department who played a big role in all of this—I’m just bummed I didn’t get his name.
Incredible service, amazing effort, and genuinely kind people. Thank you REI Eugene team!

Really small selection of goods. Really weird guy in front of us. Store associates handled him very well!

I encourage REI to take a field trip to Snow Peak in Portland to get exposure to Japanese style camping equipment & aesthetic. REI it's just boring & unexciting in comparison.

I was in the store yesterday, spoke to Elliot, who was awesome, and was told that if I brought in my bike with my own tires and tubes, that it would only cost me $20 to have my tires put on my rims. When I brought in my bike, Ian told me that it would be $25/ea for a total of $50. I took my bike to Hutch's instead, where it only cost me $20, plus a free inspection.

I went in last week with a decent budget for gearing up for the upcoming season. It was suggested to me by two staff members to wait until Friday & Saturday so I could get an additional 20% off on membership appreciation day. They said I could get my membership on the same day. I thanked them both and stated I would be back Friday.
Walked in Friday and was met by Ms. Ruddy2shoes herself. She asked me if I had a membership, I said no and pulled out my list of items I would be getting and told her my game plan, she said oh, well you can't do that....... No $30 gift card for spending over $50 and no membership benefits. I let her know what was told to me 4 days ago by staff that worked there. She said, we are not allowing that today.
Not only is it unexcusable customer rude service, but having staff NOT on the same page will ALWAYS have a negitive impact.
To many other better choices in today's world. In fact, I took that list and budget and fulfilled it elsewhere.

Zoë was beyond helpful — I came in New Years Day for hiking boots, not too sure what to look for, and Zoë was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and and kind. They helped me find the right pair and gave me many pointers on what to look for in the future. My partner also needed assistance finding some clothing and they were so helpful there too — some of the best customer service we have received. Thank you Zoë for all your help, and we'll definitely be coming back for more hiking and camping needs.

REI who is an outdoor recreational store, where a large portion of their “members”are more than likely pet owners do not allow well behaved dogs on leashes to enter their store. I am a bit disappointed in REI. I did not see the posted sign until exiting( my bad). However I still stand by my surprise and dismay.
