My husband and I were blown away by the care and knowledge provided by Dr. Sullivan and Jona. They gave us the facts and advice needed to care for our boy. They were also extremely personable and considerate of our feelings. Very grateful for this place and the people who fill it.

My husband James and I wanted to take this opportunity to express our thanks and gratitude To Jona at VCA Westmorleand. Jona has gone beyond and above, year after year, to assist us by providing great customer care as well as attending to the needs of our beloved cats. She is truly a treasure and we always feel that she is looking out for us and our fur babies. Jona is one of the main reasons we take our pets here. We think she is terrific and we wanted to express our gratitude.Best regards,Ina and James Shumaker

They wouldn’t let my wife or I back there with our dog. They cited Covid restrictions yet pretty much none of the staff was wearing masks. This is in December of 2023 where people can walk in and out of hospitals without any regulations. One of the staff members was very rude. We had to ask them twice to stop them from continuing with our dog. The vet then came out and explained some malarkey about they wanted to see how the dog was without us, but we would be allowed in if necessary until they had to give her shots, then we absolutely wouldn’t be allowed back there, because Covid only matters when they say it does.Don’t bring your pets here.

VCA Westmoreland Animal Hospital has your pet's care covered. From Physicals to Vaccines and whatever comes up, they will do their utmost to keep your beloved pet healthy. You can safely order Flea Prevention Medication online through VCA and it's cheaper than anywhere else. During a routine exam, the doctor discovered that our dog Toki had Lymphoma. We were given a referral to OSU Teaching Hospital in Corvallis for specialized care. VCA worked in unison with OSU Lois Bates Acheson Veterinary Teaching Hospital to get the Blood Work we required for our dog. The entire staff loved and respected Toki and for that, I will always be grateful.

Oh don’t know even where to start . We have been coming to this VCA for at least 7 years, dr Sullivan been with us since day 1 . My pom was aways fragile pup. He had many sicknesses like 2 acl repair , collapsing trachea, cushing's disease, severe allergy’s and the worst at age 10 he became diabetic.Dr. Sullivan , Jona and Donte, Callie went above and beyond to make sure Joey was always taking care of, treated him with compassion, patience and was always understanding any time I had any questions.Dr. Sullivan communication was beyond amazing, even if we would be out of state any time Joey had any episode she always came through. Over and over she extended my pup life when other doctors were honestly useless and not knowledgeable.I always knew dr. Sullivan was there for us no matter what , I trusted her unconditionally. She fought for him until the end . From bottom of my heart I could have not ask for better doctor for my Joey . I will be forever grateful!

Wow. There's so much to be disappointed about when it comes to this animal hospital. Bullet points seem the easiest.1. They will not allow you to go back into the care rooms with your pets because they are choosing not to lift covid restrictions. This is July 2023.2. They told me I need to medicate my 10 year old cat before bringing her in because they felt as if she showed to much stress when taken back alone. I have never had to do that before switching to this vet after moving here last year from Montana3. They pushed us into a "care plan" that cost almost $1000 for the cat and $600ish for the dog. I cancelled for the cat almost immediately due to unnecessary testing they wanted to do because "it's covered by the insurance"4. They refuse to fill the flea medication that they prescribed for the dog without seeing him every six months.5. They are ridiculously bad at communication - I had to call 4 times for the first appointment. Had to leave a dozen messages for a call back regarding wanting to cancel service.6. If they care about animals and not the all mighty $ - it is really hard to tell. Because every single conversation I had with them ended with "it's mostly covered in the care plan, you should do it!"7. I made the mistake of trying to go the hospital to pick up medication before calling and was admonished for ENTERING the building without calling first - because of Covid regulations. I was made to feel as if I had crossed some sort of line by stopping by rather than calling first. Again this was in May of 2023 after all had been lifted.8. After removing my cat from their care last November, I received no less than 10 emails and even more texts trying to get me to schedule the next appointment monthly. Each time I responded with the fact that my animal is not in their care anymore - I was told it was a computer mistake. I received yet another last month. 9. Today - at 8am I called ahead to get my dog's flea prescription refilled only to be told the Doctor had to look at the records and that they would contact me when they were ready. As they are on the way home from my husband's work, I thought he could pick them up on his way home after work. Still hadn't heard back so I called again and was told "it's still on the Dr's desk, she hasn't looked at it - so don't have him stop by". She then said she would call when the Dr has time to check it. In conclusion - the service is awful. The follow up is awful. The communication is horrendous and the "Care Plans" are shoved down your throat from the very first appointment when you walk in the door. You are meant to feel like a bad pet parent if you don't sign up. I have already looked at other veterinarians but should have done my due diligence prior to see the ratings. Please don't take your pet here - It's a hot mess and it truly is only about the money with them

Can't say enough good things about the staff at VCA Westmoreland. I recently had to let my beloved kitty go. The level of compassionate care my cat and I received was exemplary. Both Kari and Dr. Sullivan carefully explained diagnostic results and "the procedure" itself and then compassionately explained each step as it was performed and what to expect. I was allowed time with my kitty before and after. Thank you so much!

Dr sullivan is completely incompetent. The previous vet here kennedy was good. I would not trust your animal here with her or the vet tech. Seriously amateurs. They misdiagnosed my animal after two other vets had given a correct diagnosis. They refused pain medications because they suggested that people abuse them. My dog was suffering. He is now with a specialist.

Nice enough people, thought it was odd that they called my partner and discussed payment with her and never told me about the cost until i had my cat back. Even though I was the only person who brought him in. On top of that, I paid $490 for my 6 month old kitten to have a normal check up, 2 vaccines and 2 blood tests. (He's a healthy cat) Feel like they tried to pull a fast one on me and I don't really appreciate it. Maybe don't wear your nice clothes inside this business and they won't price gouge you like they did me. Ridiculous! First and only time, and I will never have business there again. I don't think the 20 fish in the huge fish tank they have even amount to the overages I was charged. Maybe they have compensation bonuses based on how much they can suck outta you, who knows. All I can say is don't be disappointed like me, take your pet someplace else

Last spring, we were really worried about our elderly little dog and brought her to Dr. S. to examine a small growth and lethargy. Dr. S. and Jona tag teamed on what now feels like a scam. Dr. S. said the growth was harmless and the behavior typical of aging. But she advised a teeth cleaning under sedation, even though my pup has a heart murmur and is 14. She and Jona talked me into $700 of heart and other tests just to see if she would survive anesthesia. Jona signed me up on the spot for a monthly payment program and promised I could cancel any time. When I emailed Jona a few days later to cancel, Jona did not respond to the email. We have almost paid off the $700. We will not subject our confused, frail dog to unnecessary surgery.

They overcharged for the medications I received. I looked up the medications on the net and found them for less than half what I paid for them. Staff was friendly, with a nice waiting room. When I need more of the medications I will get them elsewhere.medications I will get them from Amazon or any one of many locations.

Knowledgeable. Professional. Every experience I've had with my little baby pup has been outstanding and postiive. I can trust them with my baby. We had been going there at least once a month til my pup got all his shots and now we just got him neutered. My boy is a happy, happy boy and I love how everyone there dotes on him and gives him all the love.

Courtney and Dr Sullivan are amazing! Always so empathetic and helpful with my sweet senior chihuahuas. I truly feel like the staff there treats my dogs as though they were their own.

My dog has been having seizures for over a year and the last week she’s had 14 of them. 9 in one day. I was hoping to get her out down and end the pain. They called me a liar to my face, yelled at me, and said my dog is perfectly fine. All they need is hundreds of dollars for test so I can dope up my dog. The last thing she needs is to be high. She’s almost 12 and is suffering. These people are greedy and only want your money.

Tonja was awesome. I actually didn't use their services (had an appointment scheduled elsewhere but was looking for earlier availabilities) but the advice and comfort she provided, even knowing I wouldn't be a customer, is well worth a Google Review. And I said I would. Thanks, Tonja!
