Willakenzie Animal Clinic has always been great at getting Ralphie (my Persian cat), & myself in on a short notice. He has health issues & we visit quite often. The staff is friendly, caring, & super helpful! They also call the next day to check up on your pet to see how they’re doing, which I appreciate greatly! ?

I love all the veterinarians in this practice. They are kind, patient, and compassionate in their practice. It's also great to feel valued as a client and not rushed through a visit.

The fact that our dog loves going to the vet is all you need to know! I can't imagine taking our pets anywhere else.

The entire team at Willakenzie has always taken such amazing care of us. I have 2 dogs & 2 cats that have been known to get into some trouble every now & then, & of course always late on a Friday. ;) Thank you Willakenzie for your incredible flexibility, compassion & comprehensive care!

I had an appt early in the morning. I got there on time and was in a room immediately. No waiting.
I’ve taken my cats here since they were 7 weeks old. Just had their 2 year check-up!

Thank you for CARING and not making our vet appointment just feel like a business transaction. They got to know my dog a little before attempting to handle her, used lots of treats to get her to hold still and also to help her get more familiar. I loved that. I have never had a vet get to know my dog a little before attempting to do anything vet related with her. Also I had Four Corners tell me my dog had periodontal and quote me 2k for cleanings… Willakenzie said her teeth are fine! I’m very shocked! I never felt like four corners really cared about my dog, and now I really feel like they were just wanting my money! Thank you thank you thank you Willakenzie. You could’ve easily gone with what they said for money, but instead you were honest. Thank you. ? I will never go to another vet office again unless I move out of state!!

I'd have given them 5 stars before Dr. Duncan retired (and some office staff left), and I rated them 3 stars when i started this review of my experiences over the last few years (post-covid), but the nasty attitude displayed in their response below has lost them another star. I'm sure thete are still nice people there, but whoever responded to this review (practice or office manager, most likely) isn't one of them.
I'll start with the good stuff:
1) They have at least one good vet (probably more).
2) For regular clients, they make room for urgent cases: You drop off your animal; they get to them when they can, and call you. It's been super helpful when I've had a dog with stomach issues or bite wounds.
3) They're open on Saturdays.
Now the bad stuff:
Dr. Duncan was great. He owns/owned the practice. He took great care of my animals, and the ones I'd rescue, and I never felt he sold me anything I didn't need, or charged me too much.
Recently though, it seems they just want to run the bill up as much as possible. The junior vets (whom I presume make commissions), sell me/try to sell me things I don't need and can't afford - even though I tell them every time that I'm on a very low, fixed income, and anything extra I pay means I won't have it when my dog really needs it. Which is EXACTLY what happened. I kept emptying my savings to pay these guys for relatively minor issues, and couldn't save enough for my dog's dental, which contributed, if not actually caused her death.
It's not just the vets though, the office adds underhanded fees, like a $10 hazardous waste disposal fee to EVERY VISIT, whether there is hazardous waste or not. The receptionist attempted to justify this by telling me they still have to wipe down the table between each client. Well, if they add it to every visit, it's part of the office visit fee, isn't it? It's not for hazardous waste. Obviously, it's an excuse to squeeze more money out of clients.
I think Dr. Duncan put someone else in charge when he retired, and that person is running the place like a corporate clinic. Maybe he sold it. I don't know what happened, but I'm no longer a client. I drive all the way out to Pleasant Hill now.
*Referring to the condescending response below (probably from the unknown person I suspect is in charge since Dr. Duncan retired): maybe you should let someone else with better people skills respond. You've only made it worse. I'm sure every reader finds your tone and attitude as grating as I do.
I'm not a veterinarian, so how would I know what treatments to decline? Instead, I told the vets my income and how hard it was to pay for vet care. They should've discussed with me what treatments were strictly necessary and what weren't, but I never even know what's prescribed until I get the bill.
Furthermore, I tried to discuss the charges while in the office, as I stated above. How many times should I explain my circumstances and question the bill before I'm justified in writing an "annonymous" review?
You say the OSHA charge is for "transparency." Then you must disclose it to clients/potential clients when they ask about office fees, right? Because you're so "transparent."
I couldn't help but notice your response was also annonymous even as you mocked me for not using my full name on my Google account to plaster across the internet.

I have been coming to this animal clinic for over 25 years and have received experienced quality professional services each time. They also have a mentoring network referral system with many other vets, clinics, colleges, and universities that allows them to use these informational areas as resources in solving difficult medical issues for your animals.
