What an interesting gem! I've lived in Eugene for 10 years and didn't know about this place until now. Their inventory is organized by a numbering system, so browsing feels super random. But they will look up anything you are looking for specifically, and you never know what you might stumble upon! I will mention though.... windows is a metaphor, they're in a basement so there aren't any actual windows.

It's something magical to find a bookstore dedicated entirely to a special interest of yours. I've been in bookstores dedicated entirely to poetry, sci Fi, leftist theory, and now one entirely dedicated to theology. Each bookstore found their own ways to make their specific selections treasure troves - mostly by filling their shelves with authors we find frustratingly lacking at more big box bookstores and in this respect windows surpasses expectations beyond what anyone interested in theology could hope.Forget simply filling their shelves with names sorely lacking in theology sections at most stores - names like David Bentley Hart, Gregory of Nyssa, Jacques Ellul, George McDonald - one can find a number of books available in koine Greek, Hebrew both modern and biblical, Latin. I was brimming with excitement ordering Origens commentary on John's gospel from the book printers upstairs. Only to find the entire thing quite literally his commentary untranslated and presented as is. My mistake for not double checking that.I've been to this shop once a week since finding almost a month ago and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

My favorite browse in Eugene! So many hidden treasures from College Libraries and Private Collections. Definitely worth stopping by and getting lost in the stacks for an hour… or 5.

They did not include the apartment number on the shipping label. I had to pick it up at the post office even though I already paid the shipping fee. And the post officer blamed this mistake to me. I felt disappointed. Be careful to buy books from them. They are not as thoughtful as you think.

Rarely does one find individuals so dedicated to their craft, their profession, as one finds at Windows Booksellers. Each time I peruse the shelfs and email lists (sent monthly to those interested in the continually updated offerings of the store) I'm amazed at the attention and love paid to each book. The staff at this physically modest, but intellectually deep, store are true experts in their field of acquiring, caring for, and re-selling seminal, rare, antique philosophy, theology, and religious texts. This store is admittedly not for those interested in pop culture or the latest fiction novel. But when you desire, dare I say need, to acquire a scholarly text that hails from the annals of philosophy, theology or religion, do contact the kind experts at Windows Booksellers. You won't be disappointed.

Great store! A bit hard to find, but worth it for those interested in theology, philosophy, history, and other related subjects.

I'm surprised this came up as a used bookstore. No sign on the street, access through a bar and down the back stairs into the basement. Lot of OLD philosophy and religious books, not much else. Not worth the time.

The theological and historical emphasis version of City Lights books , ( SF),but on steroids! This place is like a book nerds idea of heaven. I found several books by authors I like that I never heard of, looked through disorganized piles and shelves randomly finding a $228 stack of winter reading g goodies to bring home! Just the kind of thing you'd expect from Eugene..... just the kind of go along with coffee thing you'd expect from Oregon!! Go Ducks!!

Really cool "hidden" bookstore, I love Eugene! This is a VERY specialized bookstore, focusing almost strictly on theology, philosophy and academic or seminarian-type books. They do have a small selection of fiction and books in different categories as well. they also have the best selection of extremely old books, antique like from the 1700's. Their librarian is very friendly and helpful. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is that I never find anything there that is for me. But it's such a special place I must give at least 4!

What a great store for theology wonk! Ok, so the layout can be confusing since more than half the store is not shelved by subject, author or publisher, but the staff person who helped me was very willing to help me find what I was looking for. I came in for one thing, and left with six books. To me, that is the sign of a great store.
