Welcome, folks, to McMenamins Grand Lodge - a place where it's always showtime in the realm of chic and charm. It's like stepping onto a movie set where vintage elegance and modern hipster vibes play the lead roles.Do the high prices match the food's performance? Well, let's say it's a Shakespearean tale of comedy and tragedy; the food assumes the role of the jester more often than the king. It struts and frets across your taste buds, neither leaving a lasting impression nor a void - a seasoned actor who forgets his lines on the big night. But wait, my fellow dramatists! The real magic lies not in the plate, but in the air itself. The atmosphere is the star performer here – painting a scene more vibrant than Van Gogh's vision, playing symphonies more melodious than Mozart’s enchanting compositions. You can feel the weight of history in every corner, see the whispers of the past in every carefully preserved detail. It’s like pitching a tent inside a living, breathing story. So, folks, if you're looking for a blockbuster feast, you might want to pass. But if you're yearning for an immersive theater set in the realm of marvel and mystery, McMenamins Grand Lodge is ready for the curtain call!

Stayed here last year and enjoyed the stay. Went to movie, got some food in the theater and breakfast in the restaurant. Kinda like the rooms have no tvs. Stayed in king room with sofa pull out. Liked walking around the places and finding the hidden room and staircase! Also liked the ‘pool’ outside. Lots to do!

We came here for my partner's birthday. So far I've only been to Kennedy School and now the Grand Lodge. I would definitely say the Grand Lodge is my favorite place to stay!!!There are a few secret passageways in the attic which are supposedly home to the Lavender lady, whose ghost is seen by some of the locals. The story is that she used to leave books to the residents at the elderly home and would leave a scent or trail of lavender throughout the hallways. Other strange stories are jars mysteriously being thrown from shelves and smashing into the floor. They have the best Bloody Mary's! This was one of my first times having a Bloody Mary for breakfast and it was delicious. The eggs Benedict also delicious. The fruit bar dessert was also very very tasty. You can take your drinks outside and walk the gardens, which we did in the morning. At night we ordered the New York steak, Fungi macaroni and cheese, soup of the day (Pork corn chowder) with a hot toddy and hot pear cider. I tried both and loved the pear cider more.We visited the Japanese Soaking tub for about a half hour late at night and it was quiet, as children are not allowed after a certain point (8pm? I can't remember). There is a theater there as well that has normal movie ticket prices because they play the latest films, unlike Kennedy School which plays old films at matinee prices. We didn't stay long (only one night) and we were sick, therefore I'd love to come back when we aren't feeling under the weather next time around.

Rooms are quaint. No bathrooms in rooms which is a minus, but we always love the McMenamin's experience.

This place tickles intelligence with every nook and cranny. The artist that put together the collections were amazing the place doesn't leave you bored even while walking the halls. Read the writing. The love music and good food (try the exposition elk burger) absolutely worthwhile experience.

We came in the evening and had excellent service checking in, checking out, and any questions we had. It's fun to get your passport stamps and your reward when we were there was a choice from a t-shirt or a canvas bag. We got the bag. This hotel has a movie theater. We didn't see the movie but got the popcorn to snack on. Our room was one that had a common bathroom. There are either the public bathrooms or the private (keycard) one. Our room had a sink in it, which was nice.Rooms: Rooms are on three different floors: foundation with a couple of the bars and live entertainment certain times, the first floor or second floor, which is the quietest.
