Been going here since I was a kid there's a particular part we held a friend's wake after his suicide... it's nice to kinda visit him when things are getting difficult...This parks changed a lot since the 90's alot of unfortunate accidents and due to the landscape kind of unavoidable myself ,my sister and my father all experienced a scare there ...Be smart Wear a lifejacket if you don't have one and fall in don't panic stay calm and tread water till you can find an exit .. the staff and rangers seem really helpful and kind ..But do not use the dumpsters you will be fined by the county

Water smelled fishy so I didn't get in. Everyone else enjoyed it though. It's really brown water similar to the Mississippi river but a lighter shade of brown. Another reason I didn't get in. Further out you can see that the water is blue/green. Tons of boats and signs that's say to be mindful of debris in the water.

We planned our fishing trip, and we were really excited to go to this beautiful park for a full day of fun and fishing. We brought our dog and a picnic lunch. We drove around this pristine lake looking for the perfect spot. We parked and began our adventure. The fishing poles were at the ready and the picnic table gave us the best viewing spot.
We noticed a few yellow jackets and hornets buzzing around but didn't get too concerned. 30 min later we moved so the bees weren't bothering the dog. We made our way down to the water to start fishing thinking this would be better. About 15 min later I was returning to the car to take cover. The bees were everywhere! We ate our picnic in the car and left. So sad we couldn't stay. (BEWARE SO MANY BEES)

Love this lake! Perfect for kayaking, even with others’ boats and jet skis as the lake is big enough for the waves and turbulence and the water is very clear!Picnic area: Multiple tables/benches to sit around the park

Hagg reservoir is a great place to test your boat before going out to the Columbia / Willamette rivers.

Forever changedLoved it more, pre covid. Don't get me wrong, it's beutiful in its own way its what we've got, and I spend a lot of time here. I Boat here, Kayak, fish from the bank too, and end up , picking up after people while there, and on my way out.-Newbies should... but Don't know about the No wake Zone on half the lake. (Gets dangerous occasionally. )-Lack of respect for fisherman is profound here.-Lots of Trash left behind on weekends-Please, if you Pack it in!Pack it back out w/you!-Bring a trash bag.-Kona Ice is Nice.-Sand burrs suck and are everywhere!, on the bank, under the water too -bring watershoes-Frickin Muddy all summer when water is receding.-Leaves of 3- Poison Ivy / oak in spots all around the lake and can be redish in color .Have a great time out there!... also free life jacket use for non swimmers. Please Hang em back up when done.
