New owner, Allan, and his chef provided the perfect dining experience for our 59th anniversary. Food, wine, and wait staff were all outstanding. Thank you for a lovely evening!

What a great place! I got to sit right in front of the cozy fireplace and ended up spending almost 3 hours here. I had an amazing omelet and toast, and a couple of hours later I had the most delicious cinnamon roll ever! I was so grateful to have this little oasis in the middle of my day. I can't wait to go back!

Best spot in Gearhart. Seasonal and regular offerings. Indoor spaces with covered back patio. Rich, comfort food with a continental lean. Wine list getting better. Nice owner.Parking: Lots of on street parking out front, along side, or across street.

We dined at Pacific Way Cafe last weekend and were excited to try this restaurant. We were very disappointed. We have been in the restaurant business for 30 years and this is not intended to ruin a restaurant but hopefully they can improve. There is one thing a good chef should be good at and that is seasoning with salt. A good chef knows that salt enhances the flavor of the ingredients. We started with the salmon collar and foccacia bread and that was good so we were looking forward to the rest of our dinner. I ordered the Vegetable Tagliatelle and the Kabocha squash was not cooked at all and there were large raw crunchy chunks of it that were inedible. The sauce was not seasoned at all and was very bland. I could not and did not want to finish it. A pasta should have some different textures but not raw chunks of squash. My husband had the Crab Cakes with some kind of curry sauce and again no seasoning and he said the flavors were strange and not cohesive at all. So disappointing. We dine out on the weekends and enjoy good well prepared food but that is not what we received. If you are going to charge these prices, make sure your food is spot on. We don’t mind spending money on good food…. If you do tastings for the staff before service you should allow for honest comments from them and get it right. We will not be back, for now…. Try a bit harder and talk to the chef about the purpose and necessity for salt in his dishes. It makes a world of difference.

I had no idea!Living on the coast, our choices are limited. There's plenty of good food out here, but - until now - nothing really special. We came for a special dinner, but didn't realize how special it would be. One of our favorite chefs in Astoria worked with the in-house team at The Pacific Way to make a truly special evening.Dishes highlighted local specialties; oysters, mushrooms, salmon, and seasonal berries. Everything was beautifully prepared and delicious. Plating and serving were exceptional as well. My only regret is that we didn't take advantage of the excellent wine pairings. Won't make that mistake again!

There were four entre items on the menu, which would not be bad if they were all stellar dishes. I chose seafood with fetuccini type noodles. The sauce, which was the only thing flavoring this dish, was flovorless except for the slight tinge of burnt butter. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but the prawns were overcooked. My freind was also unimpressed with her entre especially the beet "salad" that came with no flavor (again) and a weird green sauce that had odd flavors that did not work on any level. This seemingly high-end restaurant offered food that was worse than Mcdonalds; we wont be back.

Enjoyed a very nice dinner here. The menu isn't large but what they do offer is very good. I was disappointed that even though it's attached to a bakery (not open during dinner hours), bread with the meal is not complimentary. The portions are not large. I ordered the salmon, which was delicious, but probably only a 3-4 ozs piece. About the same for my wife's halibut. The cheesecake was amazing and I highly recommend that.We were able to walk-in (likely due to being here off season) but I would recommend making a reservation.

At the recommendation of friends, my wife and I had dinner at the Pacific Way while visiting Gearhart. Despite the positive experiences we heard about, we left very underwhelmed by both the food and service. Neither the miso glazed salmon and seafood pasta had much flavor. I would have expected the focaccia bread starter to come out warm, which it did not. The highlight of the food was the oysters which had a very pleasant mignonette.Service was slow and we waited more than 20 minutes after finishing our meal before flagging down a server to bring us the check. The restaurant itself is a very nice space and the staff are pleasant, but the rest of the experience left room for improvement. I hope that we just caught them on an off night, but would not recommend based on the experience.

We were excited for a nice upscale dinner close to our hotel. Booked reservations easily online which was nice. We were seated quickly in the front section, it was very cold. They had a heater pointed directly at us but it didn't make that section fully comfortable. We waited a good 15 minutes for someone to come and were ready to get up and walk out. Waiter finally came and announced he was brand new that evening so we right away gave the rest of the evening grace, we've all been there. We ordered two appetizers, the beet salad was delicious, the foccacia bread was dry and the dipping oil my husband said tasted like grass clippings, very strange seasonings in the oil. There were no specials so the menu offered four entrees. That's it. We ended up with salmon and a pasta dish with scallops and shrimp. Our meals came in decent time after ordering. After one bite I switched meals with my husband, the green stuff under the salmon was cilantro. Nowhere in the description did it mention cilantro and I hate cilantro with the passion of a thousand suns. So that dish was ruined. The pasta wasn't cooked thoroughly and it was way too chewy. The scallops were good, the sauce needed salt or just something, it was bland. I'm a dessert girl and thought dessert could salvage our meal. The new waiter came back, this was the only other time we had seen him since we were seated. He asked if we wanted dessert but he didn't know what the options were so he went to get the menu. There were only two options and one was gone. The only thing we could order was some weird cheesecake so we passed. The bottle of wine we got was a nice red so that was satisfactory. The rest of the meal was extremely disappointing. I was hoping for so much more from a restaurant with a yelp history like this one has. I had to present the flip side that not everyone has a successful experience with this place.

The reservation asked if it was a special occasion, and I replied yes! It was one of those big birthdays. I asked for a romantic booth or table with a view if possible (I had never been there before). We came in behind a walk in couple, that were seated in the main dining room with quaint fire place, it was really nice. Even though I made the reservation weeks in advance, we were seated out front by the door. It was too bright and freezing! I was very disappointed. Customer service used to really mean something.

Gearhart is a small town with not a lot of dining options from what we found so to have the gem was a bonus! Missy and crew seemed a bit short staffed or training new hires but they pulled it off wonderfully. Food was superb, and we were made to feel like locals the entire time. We were not rushed, and the service was spot on. They even awarded us with a special dessert because they said we "seemed cool". There was a recent 1 star review from a customer so I was a little worried for what we might experience but Mr. 1 star was probably having a bad day or the restaurant did just have 1 off night in the last 364 days. Give it a try!

I've been coming to Seaside and Cannon Beach for the past 20 years; I've never really had a reason to stop in Gearhart until now. The dining room, ambiance, the staff, the owner, and especially the food was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and they had an amazing wine list. My girl and I got the tasting menu and everything blew me away, the portions, the presentation, everything. They even brought out candles on the desserts for her birthday. If you're ever looking for a nice dinner this place is perfect, absolutely a destination for us every year we come back now.

When we crossed the threshold, we stepped into a warm cozy place with amazing food and incredible personal service. Can't say enough about this restaurant. It was so obvious that the owner, the servers and the chefs really cared about us and any special culinary needs/requests. So refreshing to know there's a restaurant that really cared about making our dining special.

So glad to see this return of this wonderful restaurant. Even with a limited menu, as they get started up again after being closed for a number of years, there was a nice selection of choices. My wife had the Salmon and I had a Halibut dish that were both well prepared.
