A place of love is here. Dog owner all my life and I wanted to finally get a cat now that I have my allergies under control. We found a 5 year old fur ball named Kenny who was the last of his pride to be adopted after his owner passed.Over a year later, he is the absolute sweetest. And I’m no small part thanks to the love given him at Wild Rivers. This place definitely deeply cares about their animals. Best part is, Kenny is now a proud “papa” cat, after we rescued another baby kitten 6 months later. These two goofballs play and cuddle constantly.

I have called TWICE no response. For a local shelter I'm not sure what they actually do. I had to reach out to brookings animal shelter for any kind of help. Which of course helped trap and fix 10 strays that just kept having litters of cats. For a local shelter they need to do better. My son has been feeding and caring for all these cats. When he went in seeking help .. he received a shoulder shrug and was made to feel uncomfortable. If you donate to shelters BROOKINGS could definitely use the support ! They do an amazing job and are actually out for the animals in our area.

Lovely ladies working here protecting and providing these sweet animals with love and care. Missing our own 4 pups so much. We decided to stop by and love on some pups who needed it as much as we did.We were able to volunteer and walk 4 dogs around the beach. Idk why we did that bc now all I can think about is taking all 4 home. One day soon I will!!Please donate, volunteer or ADOPT don’t shop.

Someone dumped a poor cat at my place, and when I called and explained I was in no situation to care for this cat (going through some very hard life events), they offered no help, just told me of two random rescues I can't find, and didn't care at all because they're full. Normally I wouldn't leave a bad review for being full, but I told the gal I truly couldn't care for this kitty and he needs help and she honestly did not seem to care at all about him. Where is the passion for helping animals and fellow humans?

Great clean facility, got a private tour as no one was there but staff and a vet. Had 7-8 dogs in a spotless indoor area. Very good conditions compared to other Rescues. We ended up rescuing a beautiful & healthy dog.

Extremely rude and the staff doesn’t seem to have the same information. Blatantly called my bf a liar to me and directly to him after he was given different information by two different people on different days, including the director. Unhelpful, didn’t seem to care about the welfare of an animal that was starving, covered in ticks, found wandering a highway in the middle of nowhere, late at night where the dog would have likely died. Would give them zero stars if it were available, I would not trust them to be honest about the care of the animals in the shelter. The staff seems poorly educated if they can’t even give the same information. We understand there are laws per county and state… but wow, it seems unethical to leave a dog like that out in the woods, right? We were trying all avenues to get this dog somewhere safe, where there would be proper care, including the area she was found… including a trip to a local vet’s office that is aware of the situation as well… and instead we were treated like trash by Wild Rivers. Yikes. Yikes.

Exceptionally well staffed they know what they're doing they got good resources they're able to help when you seem like there's no place to help you in an animal loved one crisis
