About a year ago I banked at K-Bank in Grants Pass, Oregon.I had been with them for a few years. I loved the bank back then. I even convinced my husband to switch from Chase to them! The bank on Williams Hwy. was closer to the end of town where we lived. Long story short my bank account got compromised and the bank had to deal with it . They refunded me my money but a month later they sent me out a letter saying they were closing my checking account. They wouldn't give me a reason. They gave me a number to call it was the, RISK dept. Went around with them but it got me know real answers as to why they closed out my account. Fast forward to February 2020. My husband gets a letter from Key bank saying they are closing out his home equity line of credit. At least that's the account we think they are talking about. So, we went into the branch to talk to a banker. They assured us it was our/his home equity line of credit that was being closed. They wanted us to lock into a fix interest rate on it. All that meant was we couldn't charge anything new on it. Ok, that's fine we said. Then March comes. Go to pay for groceries at a store and his ATM card doesn't work. We think its odd but probably just a glitch. We forget about it . A few days later the same thing happens. We go into the bank and they tell us that my husbands " accounts" have been closed. Who closed them we ask. We didn't close them. What accounts we ask? Ended up being my husbands checking account, and his regular credit card. We ask why the bank closed his accounts and they couldn't give us a answer. His checking account has always been in good standing. Never been over drafted always had some money in his account as his disability check automatically are deposit in it round the 20th of each month. Same with is credit card . He has excellent credit a good, high score by bank standards. At time of closing his credit card it had a zero balance (it was quite a substantial credit limit). The lady at the branch was nice enough but couldn't tell us no more. She did give us a number to call at corporate. It was the RISK dept. We asked why my husbands checking account and credit card was closed out? She could not tell me only that it had been determined that he was a at RISK customer.! So, one of two things are going on . #1 they closed his accounts because of his age (hes 62) which is highly un-likely or #2 because he has cancer. Neither one of these reasons is cause for closing out his accounts. To make matters worse they closed it out the day before his disability check was to be deposited on March 19th. not to mention we had checks written and mailed out to creditors. So yea KEY BANK sucks. They have some really messed up policies and that is our horror story dealing with them. I actually would not recommend this bank or any bank to people. We both have accounts at the First Community Bank now and they seem alright but if we didn't need to we wouldn't have any bank accounts with any banks. Banks are nothing short of pure evil. I would really like to sue them (Key Bank). Perhaps as a group law suit there would be something that could be done about them?

This rating is on Key Bank and the rules and policies they follow not on the people at this branch. In fact the people at the branch bent over backwards trying to make things right but their main office "leaders" made it impossible and lost our personal and business banking. Banks first of all are not on my favorites list. But this bank has no idea about customer service for a member of 20 years plus. I advise you to look else where.
