If I could give zero stars I would! Be careful he will get payment from you and insurance company to do repairs to your home but not return to do said work. I wish I would of checked reviews because I wouldn't of allowed my mother to go through this person to repair her home.

Worked for this guy as an employee for several months. At first, very nice guy but clearly it was a facade. Without going into too much detail, he had me do many very questionable things while remodeling some kitchens and bathrooms. He lacks patience and is always looking for a shortcut. He was well aware of my capabilities as I had explained to him my experience was solely in door and window installs yet he put me in situations where I didn’t know the right way to do something and still expected me to figure it out. Fine by me, but not for the customer. On 2 occasions he absolutely ghosted me after owing me and my helper (a friend) pay. Now, a few months later he still owes me pay for a project he wasn’t too happy about the final outcome of yet gave me no opportunity to make it right. He’s texted me once since then complaining about the last job but still refuses to pay me. Thankfully the CCB is going to help me. Also, his license has been expired since may. If you want quick cheap work, go with this guy. Likely won’t be to code but it will get done.

I made the mistake of working with this contractor, who completed no work that was promised and also took my money. This business, MC MERRILL CONSTRUCTION LLC, currently has 4 outstanding disputes (as of Nov, 2022), against its CCB license, 193243.search.ccb.state.or.us/s…Steer clear at all costs.

Completed work for this guy despite red flags from beginning to end. Then surprise, surprise he ghosted me and didn’t pay. Doesn’t sound like the homeowner is happy with his experience either. Steer clear of this huckster.

I'm reviewing MC Merrill construction not as a customer but as a sub contractor. SUB CONTRACTORS BEWARE! I did a small counter top job for Mark in February and never got paid, I had to file a claim against MC Merrill with Oregon CCB. This claim is not the first for MC Merrill either, he has had several including mine, he doesn't pay his bills and is dishonest, STAY AWAY!

Stay Away! This may be long, so there is a TL DR at the bottom. I contacted several companies, and many where too booked for my job, I was short on time as I was forced to set a move out date from the bank to prove that I would be living in the house. Mark was in the middle of the road on cost and was available. I did some research and only found on slightly negative, so I felt like Mark and his company should be a safe bet. Mark convinced me to let him get the appliances as he could get a better deal, charged me $2,250 for appliances that cost retail $1,500 at home depot where he had bought them because of the invoice they had left on the packaging. I picked a specific paint color out, even giving them the make color name and number, they still got the color wrong and seemed more like they just picked a color themselves. Then painted the walls and trim and ceiling all the same color. I picked flooring and they yet again choose a different cheaper flooring and installed it before I saw the product. When installing the flooring they left many gaps and uneven placement, so edges pop up and are easy to trip over. I had mark and his crew remove old dish/telecom coaxial cable on the outside of the house and specifically stated to NOT remove the CCTV cables and cameras. They ripped the cameras and cables out, destroying them and stated I did not tell them anything, until I showed the Text and email conversation. They upgraded the electrical box on the outside and left the wall bear with no communication, no options to fix. I could never get any answers out of them, such as when would the project be completed or an estimate when this part of it would be done and the answer would be "Soon". I had to hold checks until things were finished then things started moving. They destroyed blinds and ceiling fans by getting joint compound on them and letting it sit and dry, then removing them and losing hardware to place them back up. I had to get them to refund me for security cameras they destroyed after I communicated with them to leave them alone. They left my yard a total mess the entire time and had to force them to clean up the junk before I gave them the last check. At the end of it I just wanted to complete my move in and just relax, but now I see the incompetence and neglect of professionalism in the details. The weeks following, I have had to correct issues such as painting and plumbing. The plumbing they used glue as the drain sealant which caused leakage right away. There is plenty more, but I feel I have conveyed the need to stay away. Also make sure your valuables are safe, had a new $300 set of pots and pans still in the box vanish. Considering legal action. TL; DR Communication: When there was communication it was the word soon or just straight lies. Following request: Did not get the correct paint color nor flooring as discussed. Quality of work: Amateur at best. Time management: I had to use payments as a catalyst for progress.
