Wonderful service experience for someone that is not even a customer! My friend was prescribed medication for a procedure from another pharmacy (WG's), but they pharmacist literally told him to call his Dr for the directions - on a Sunday - for something he was supposed to begin taking that day. We attempted to obtain any information to no avail. I suggested trying my pharmacy at the Safeway on Highland & was thrilled when Ryan took the time out of his day to speak to him directly & even suggest some over the counter items that would also be helpful. He was kind, professional & really acted like he cared. I know that reviews for pharmacies are not a big thing, but our experience was so outstanding that it was worth the time to write. Well done, Safeway Highland Pharmacy Team. You have earned a new customer. We appreciate you!

The least competent pharmacy I've ever been to. Staff complain about being behind but talk for most of their shifts instead of doing their jobs. Staff is very rude and not competent whatsoever.

These staff are very competent and very friendly. The only thing I would say could improve the experience for everyone would be to hire more competent friendly staff! Shorter lines, happier everyone!!

All of the pharmacists and techs are so sweet and helpful. I pick up meds for myself and 2 other people so I see them often and it's always a joy to interact with them. The techs have helped me find discount codes and are great at working with insurance and my providers, like they always go above and beyond to make sure I can get what I need in a timely manner. They've also filled prescriptions while I'm in the store so I don't have to come back. The phamacists are knowledgeable and great at explaining things. As a trans disabled person it's hard to find nonjudgmental and competent pharmacies and I've felt so welcomed here. The one thing that could use improvement is the accessibility of the waiting line, as there's nowhere to sit while you wait.

The pharmacists and techs are great and am grateful for having a local option. However wait times have exceeded 30/45 mins on several visits. Additionally there isn’t a suitable waiting space for folks with mobility or other health issues without interruptions to other shoppers or folks waiting in the unmarked line that forms in an aisle. Lastly, there are 3 terminals that are perpetually empty that would benefit the customer experience and improve waittimes with the addition of another pharmacist and tech or 2 on duty. Lastly this location has absorbed a large contingent of the now closed nearby Walgreens and little to no additional support or assistance has been provided for the existing staff and they are doing the best they can. They need more staff simply put, a better flow for both drop offs, pickups, a better waiting area for folks with “health issues” and a designated line that doesn’t feel like Frogger with shopping carts.

I'm a nurse and I was helping out a patient on my own time to get some meds that insurance wouldn't cover. I was absolutely amazed at how kind (and competent) the pharmacist was. The pharmacy tech just didn't know how to handle it when it turned out that the med was not available. The pharmacist stepped in without even being asked. He just overheard my conversation with the tech. He spent quite a bit of time online trying to locate the correct medication which has become extremely difficult to locate at all. I left the other prescription my patient needed and went off to Walmart while it was being prepared, hoping that I could find some of this medicine that's so scarce. Walmart, to say the least, not only didn't have it, they were not helpful at all. In the meantime at Safeway the other medication they did have in stock was ready. The tech asked me for $144 for a 5-day supply! That sounds terrible, but at OHSU where they also had a supply, it was over $300. Still I was a little shocked and the tech said that the GoodRx number I had given wouldn't work. This blessed pharmacist stepped in again. He just overheard the conversation again and very kindly said, "We've got all kinds of GoodRx cards around here. I'll find a way to send her home with at least one of the medicines she needs." Instead of $144, I paid $21.95. He ended up spending more than a little time on this. It's not like he kept any other customers waiting. There were pharmacy techs who were able to fill prescriptions so no one had to wait, and he just made it his business to go over and above. The man deserves a medal AND a RAISE. Safeway pharmacy manager, are you listening?

Severely understaffed, one pharmacist had to have me explain the dosage to get a refill. Wait times are often hours, and calling ahead is a waste of time since they never answer.

I was at self checkout doing a shipt order and I asked the person there if I could leave my stuff with him so I could go get my shipt card from my car. He said that it was fine and when I came back, he had already given my cart to someone else to reshelve my items? They went back to find my items but couldn't even remember what they had reshelved and I ended up leaving without one of my original items. If you can't hold things for a couple of minutes, just say that instead of saying yes and then fucking over your customers
