Irritating customer service in store: defective item, brought it back for a replacement. This took them probably 20 minutes to solve on their system (I understand those can be goofy at times), but then the employee looked at me like I was crazy for saying that he ordered the replacement in the wrong size. At no point did he say hey, we don’t have it in the same size is that ok - instead I looked at my receipt and had to speak up, only to be treated like an inconvenience… I guess I shouldn’t expect good communication from everyone, but I certainly will avoid going to this location in the future.

I bought a 300 dollar jacket from this location less than a year ago. The zipper on it has failed. Apparently Eddie Bauer no longer backs their products with a lifetime warranty and they only warranty them for a year with a receipt. I don't have the receipt and in the past I could walk into an Eddie Bauer location and get a replacement item in the rare event of a malfunction.
I regret ever spending money with them. In the past I championed Eddie Bauer because of their lifetime warranty program. I'm never shopping here again and will never buy another EB product.

So why was I here on the far side of Portland yesterday? The answer is that this is one of the few places I can buy a 2X Tall shirt for my big boned son. This Eddie Bauer is located within a the large and disorienting Clackamas Town Center. That means that all I wanted to do is get in, find the place, buy the shirts, and get out ASAP. Yet, while I was here, the selection was decent, the clearance pricing was tempting, and our mission was accomplished.

It was the week after Christmas when I dropped by so I guess that might explain why some of the shelves were a bit bare (or only had clothes in size Small)...but I always love Eddie Bauer quality and customer service!
