I took a leap of faith and started to go here after being with my previous stylist for 16 years. Everyone is very nice and Nikki does a magnificent job with my wavy/curly hair.

Nice, friendly, clean salon. I just moved here & was very nervous about finding the right stylist. My haircut can be difficult & requires a true artist. Becky cut my asymmetrical bob perfectly & communicated every step of the way.

Love this place!! Everyone who works here has such a great attitude, especially Jimmy!! Not only is this guy great at his job, but he has such a fun personality. Truly a good time whenever I'm in his chair. Can't recommend him enough :)

Horrible place, they treat people like crap. This place treats people who are not skinny like they are not worthy of a hair cut "Jimmy is a total j**** the way he talks to people and the things he says are completely out of line. I would not go. Here if it was the last salon on earth.

WARNING: NOT A SAFE SPACE Below is an email I sent to Salon Fuss after having a Color Consult with Jimmy. Good Evening, This message is intended for Jimmy. I came in this afternoon for a color consult. It was clear to me after meeting you that you are a knowlegable and respected stylist. I appreciated your passion and expertise. However, I find I need to pass along some feedback to you about the things you said in our brief appointment. I share this only for context: I've just been discharged from an earing disorder treatment facility. I've been in treatment now for close to four months. Body dysmorphia and body shame are a big part of my daily experience. I have just stepped down to a lower level of care and have been able to go back home to my partner. I've saved my Christmas money to come and see you. I did a lot of research beforehand and found you to be a reputable stylist. I scheduled an appointment because I know my hair is a hot mess, I know it looks terrible. I came into the salon today in the hopes that the experience would help me to feel better about myself. I am working very hard to get back out in the world and take up space and stop letting a culture of fat phobia and body oppression dictate how I live my life. Today's interaction with you has me feeling pretty awful. Some of the comments you made to me about my hair: "It's like you have two hair cuts." "Whomever did your hair before did you a great disservice." "You basically have a mullet." "The whole back of your head is breakage." "Your hair is see through in back, it's got huge gaps." "You can grow it out, but you have to cut this all off and start over. I wouldn't want you going around town telling people I'm doing your hair." I am very familiar with Aveda products and salon philosophy. I worked at a corporate Aveda store for three years back when I was in college, and there was still a corporate store/salon in Portland. It's the reason I chose to see an Aveda master stylist. Frankly, you should be ashamed of the way you talked to me. You could have been kind and compassionate and instead you were disrespectful and callous. You might give the best hair cuts in the world, but treating people like s*** and assuming they're ignorant about hair care doesn't feel worth it to me. Thank you for your time today, but I will be looking for a stylist elsewhere. ------- No response from Salon Fuss for four days I emailed again: Please confirm you have at least received my email and cancelled my appointment. ----- Same day response from Salon Fuss Hi Vanessa, We have gone ahead and cancelled that future appointment. We apologize that your experience was upsetting. We wish you well and hope you can find someone who will further suit your needs and what you are looking for. Best wishes, Salon Fuss Team 503-454-0565 ---- I forgot to add the comment where Jimmy told me I was very red in the face and that choosing platinum hair makes me look like I have rosacea. PS. I have rosacea.

I had my haircut by Kendall after being in denial of my last stylist moving and waiting too long for a cut. My hair was desperately in need of a cut and Kendall blew it out of the water. I had some basic ideas of what I wanted but nothing too specific. She listened attentively and delivered big time- I’m obsessed! She took off the perfect amount leaving it feeling lighter, fresh & healthy! Kendall is so sweet and personable. She could make anyone feel comfortable in her chair. She’s knowledgeable, willing to teach & not pushy. Salon Fuss carries all of my favorite Aveda products but I never felt pressured to buy any. I was in the market for a new leave in and Kendall steered me in the right direction for my hair type. She asked if it was okay to put products in my hair and before she diffused it (love a hairstylist with body autonomy boundaries!) I can’t say enough great things about her she’s truly a gem of a human and hair stylist. 10/10 will absolutely be having Kendall do my hair in the future!Services: Hairstyling

I have gotten the best cuts and service of my life at this salon. Thank you Jimmy! He showed me the errors of past cuts and has nursed my now gray hair to show it's true self and shine. He also has really helped my husband whose thinning hair needed a delicate touch and who wanted hair color, but often what was applied looked very artificial and an incorrect / unnatural color. He looks great too.Plus, its just fun to be in the salon. It's a very nice atmosphere inside, earthy and interesting, comfortable. I truly appreciate that they offer you a disposable mask so you can swap yours out and not get hair in it.Services: Hairstyling

Jimmy is amazing! So knowledgeable. He asked questions about the look I want and why I use the products I do. He took time to fully understand my needs and wants. He shared his knowledge and made recommendations based on my specific hair type and lifestyle. I have never had a stylist WANT to work with my curls. My boyfriend has told me everyday since my appointment just how beautiful my hair is! Thank you Jimmy. I can’t wait to sit in your chair again.

Fantastic customer service; the staff are really friendly, inviting, warm & caring. Kendall does awesome facials & she shows that she truly cares about others; may God continue to bless her. They are flexible & they offer hair, facial & make-up products on-site. They take many forms of payment & the site is definitely clean, organized & beautiful. They do good hair & offer a neck or hand massage along with your facial. Located right off of 172nd & Sunnyside. Keep up the excellent work ??
