I tried to get a copy of my title from the Oregon DMV for 9 months. I was in a unique situation where I totaled my car, but I did not yet have a copy of the title showing the lien release. I sent in multiple forms with information from my credit union and my insurance company. I had different people answer the phone, most of whom were unhelpful. The final straw was when the woman hung up on me. I eventually signed a power of attorney for my insurance company and they took care of it. The fact that there was no manager to talk to meant each person could just pass me off to the next. I don't typically leave reviews like this, but I felt it necessary in this situation.

ok. process overall is quicker and more efficient. But if not open on Saturday at least from say 8am to 1pm when oregonians do not work (for the most part) there needs to be a change.

Best DMV I have been to in Illinois. Had about a 15 minute wait maximum, everyone that worked there was friendly and courteous. Everything went smoothly and made this old codger very relaxed when taking a driving test again after many years. Thanks to all of the workers that made renewing my license and my driving test a pleasurable experience.

It's been several years since I've had to make a trip to the Oregon DMV and I just had my best experience ever at the Hillsboro branch They were out of appointments so I had to go in as a walk in and the place was packed when I got here on Thursday at 3pm But, to my pleasant surprise, the host asked me if I wanted to get text updates about my wait. What a great service! So I gave her my phone number and was able to wait outside in the comfort of my own car and enjoy reading my book. Their system sent me a few updates as my spot in line approached. They also provided a link to web page where I could view my wait status. That was nice since I didn't have to worry about losing my place in line while I waited outside I ended up waiting just 20 minutes (they served 11 folks in that time) and got my job done in two minutes. So I had a great experience here and especially appreciate the hard work DMV has done to serve us and minimize the pain of going to the DMV office. Kudos! :)

-try to arrive at least 30 minutes before opening if you don't have an appointment. I arrived 30 min after opening without an appointment, and I waited about 1 hour 30 min when I was told it would take approximately 45 minutes. I would say this is actually average. Most people that came in after me gave up. -when I had an appointment, the wait was still long, maybe 30-45 min. It just depends how difficult the people in front of you in line are, honestly. Appointments allow you to skip grabbing a queue number but there's still a lot of people in the line. -there's a Dutch Bros coffee in the parking lot, I really enjoyed going there while I waited for my number to be called, but you cannot take the drinks or any food inside! So go right after you grab your queue number. -bring a book but don't bring headphones! They will quietly shout out waiting numbers every few minutes to line up and it's easy to miss your number because they don't update the queue on the wall as quickly as they shout out the numbers -be nice to the staff! They seemed knowledgeable just understaffed.

Terrible reception, with very unclear communicationsI went in 4 times to Hillsboro dmv for my DL renewal and verified my set of documents on my first visit itself, but I was asked a new document on each of my following 3 visits and then sent back.I need to make yet another visit, but I am going to head to a different location, hoping it works this time

I made an appointment (strongly recommended) and got in and out in half an hour. Those without appointments were waiting much longer.

Shows up at 8:15, there was a long line but it went fast and everyone was super helpful! There's an information desk staffed so that before you get a number to wait for your turn, she ensures you have all the right paperwork and information so that you can get what you need done, which is great because you don't want to wait then get to the counter and find out you don't have everything you need to get your tags, RealID, or other services completed.

I had a pretty good experience here. I had to visit this DMV on three occassions:1. The Learner's permit test: Process was straightforward. Booked an appointment online; went to the DMV with all the required docs; paid the fee; took the test!2. Drive Test (1): The examiner (middle aged tall guy, lean built) failed me for driving too slow (how could he expect me to drive fast on a busy road!). Drive test fee is $9 for each test.3. Drive Test (2): This time I was lucky. Got a lenient examiner. The old man complimented my driving skills! Then he took me to a counter where I paid the fees ($59) and got my license.Overall it was a good experience at this DMV. You will need to keep checking their website for appointments which are not easily available. They won't entertain you without appointments. It is crowdy in the beginning of the week.

Great staff that works hard. Make an appointment online to help yourself with the line. Also read about everything you need online 3 times to ensure you have everything you need.
