I just had the most worst experience on my life. I showed the color therapy rep what I wanted and she said they could do it. Booked the appointment and right away the colorist started off with say she wanted to quit and my hair was a project and she couldn't do it. I laughed it as a joke but after soon point it was annoying and extremely rude she brushed my hair so hard and her nails was sharp and scratched my ear couple times. When everything was almost done MT Hair rep of being blonde turned into grey!!!! Right away I was pissed and wanted that off they put a toner on to remove the color but now my original blonde color is now brown. They reimbursed me back my money but now I have to find someone to fix what they did wrong with my hair. Moral of the story don't trust them when they say they can color hair. They literally want in and out clients for just root touch up only- word by word what they manager said. Which they made me come next day saying they could fix it and the manager said they couldn't do it that day since she knows it's a mess and offered me a refund, I told her straight forward I don't trust anything from this company and I want my refund.

I am super happy with Madison Reed products. For the first time in years my scalp did not have to itch, blister, or suffer over beauty. Very professional staff. Melissa was my colorist. So refreshing to meet people actually happy to hair design. Hard to call it 'work' when they love their job and made my washed out colored hair pretty again. All the gray gone and blended my choice of a new color with a splash of fun. Men are really missing out on the place! Color for them too. I noticed the beautiful styles on the clients before me. Totally put me at ease. Can't wait to try something more daring next time.

do not come here if you are looking to get your hair lightened, or just don't even come here at all. i came and was greeted by one of the stylists, but once I sat down and the actual colorist came up to me it just went downhill from there. she barely asked me what i was looking to get done and i briefly explained what i wanted and she was already on her way to getting the product ready. she just started slapping lightener on. she used a foil technique for the highlights. ( which they kept saying i was in for a balayage but that's not at all what i booked the appointment for, first red flag) she was strangely using precut sheets of Reynolds wrap and not salon grade foils. weird. the whole time she applying the lightener she was so rough with me. she was grabbing my head and chin to maneuver me around with force which was making me pretty uncomfortable. it just sort of made me feel like she was upset that she had the one to be doing my hair. i have extremely long and blonde hair so I get it, but that's still not an excuse. as she was getting closer to being done applying the lightener she tells me "it's going to be really bold in the front is that okay?" obviously it's going to have to be okay since she's already done it. that kind of frightened me. she let it sit for about 20 minutes and had another stylist check my foils and shampoo and tone me. after we toned, the first colorist roughed me up some more in the shampoo bowl and rinsed with BOILING hot water and didn't even ask me if the temperature was okay until the last few seconds of her rinsing. she then explained to me that i am welcome to comb, style and blow dry my hair to finish off the service before heading out which is cool concept they do there. I honestly thought yeah it turned out good, bangs were a little bit too light for me but all was good. Until I got home and checked the back of my head. there were horizontal lines going across the back of my head, I was in shock. she took pictures of the back of my head before I left and I just can't believe she'd let me walk out with it looking like that. it's just a shame that I payed 160 dollars with tip for a literal hack job of 'highlights', and had to go somewhere else to get it fixed and pay way more because it was that bad. please do yourself a favor and don't come here if you're young, expecting to go lighter, or have long hair. they will make you feel like you're too much effort to care. if you are wanting to go lighter please go to a blonde specialist.

Do you need hair color but free of ammonia and parabens? This is the right place to visit. This is my second visit and overall satisfied with the service. This salon is near the Macy's shopping centers which you can visit after pampering yourself.

For the disappointment last visit... this visit it was much better! My hair is restored back to original , with much better and shiny ! I'm not going to try anything new anymore and probably going to stick with this color code for quite some time. Thanks for restoring my hair! I'm glad they were able to fix their mistakes! Looks like similar experience happened with many customers over a month and little did I realize I also had a same situation and disappointment. Giving them another chance, they did good today!Service: Hair coloring

My last visit to the Madison Reed Color Bar in Hillsboro, OR was to fix the grayish green tone that emerged from a coloring 2 days prior. I went back because Madison Reed reached out after my last 3 star review with an offer to fix it at no charge. I have to say that the colorist did manage to undo the very unattractive coloring, but it was a tense, uncomfortable 90 minutes with the same person who had left me with the unsatisfactory coloring the first time! I was on guard and she was defensive, "educating" me as to why it was my hair's fault/condition that I had an unsatisfactory result, not hers. I'm still puzzled as to why she wouldn't have said all this before she tried coloring it the first time, letting me know what could possibly happen so that I could make an informed choice. Instead I felt lectured by this 20-something with 5 years experience. As she stated, MR Hair Color Bar is for easy coloring needs. If you're going from blonde to brown, or the other way around, this is not the place for you. I only wish she/someone had spoken up on my first visit and made it clear that they were not going to be able to do what I was asking, or that my fine hair would not be able to withstand the coloring without damage. If you're looking to just cover gray or maybe liven up your natural color you'll probably get what you need here. Otherwise, I'd ask LOTS of questions in advance.

Consider yourself warned. Madison Reed's deceptive marketing practice , you think you're using a healthy product. It is not it contains ethanolamine that makes your hair fall out. Do the research, google it. If this happens to you file a Med Watch Report with the FDA!

ZERO STARS.Yesterday. They completely messed up my hair. $250 roots, highlights. I have chunks of brass in my hair it looks terrible. I tried calling today, nothing. I tried the message app. No reply. So disappointed, the lady who did my hair was being promoted to supervisor!!!I’ve had my roots done before here and that was fine. I guess all they do is roots.

I was very impressed by design of the salons very simple and elegant. Absolutely love the story the founder and company name after her daughter. That's very sweet and inspiring. Staff greeted us right away. It's very sweet that day was welcome snacks and mimosa for mother day weekend. Definitely nice!Room for improvement; Lack of technical/ experience and expertise. Very disappointed of the results.Seeking for assistance, but have not got responses. Disappointed.

2 stars because the salon itself was nice they offered drinks and staff was very kind and getting my refund for my hair was really simple which I appreciated. Unfortunately I think communication could have been off, I came in with photos of brown hair with full highlights and a balayage we decided on the balayage but I feel like my hair looks more like I just died the ends of my hair blond and called it a day lol. Could be my fault for miscommunication to an extent but it's hard to get over how bad my hair looked. Multiple multiple people were pretty shocked at how bad it was for how much I spent. I got it fixed for 60$ cheaper at another salon and my hair looks incredible now. I'm sure they specialize in something more specific then what I wanted since they don't cut hair here or really style to much just natural color and blowouts. But I would prefer they just let me know they can't do what I'm looking for.

no stars. I booked an appointment, included ALL of my hair history so they could call me in advanced and tell me wether or not they could do the service. I came in for my appointment, they bleached a chunk of my hair blonde said they couldn’t do it anymore because theres pink in it (But there isn’t any pink it looks completely fine to me) and told me to go elsewhere. I called EVERYWHERE. and no one could take me as a walk-in. I walked back to ask if there was ANYTHING they could do even just a hi light instead of a full blonde and they said the only thing they can do is slap EVEN MORE BROWN on top of it and call it good which would make it EVEN HARDER to go blonde later!! Either that or go back to ulta who messed my hair up in the first place! Now i get to walk around with a dried up blonde chunk in my hair when i work face to face with customers at my job. Horrendous place

Great first experience here at the Madison Reed Hair color bar located in the Streets of Tanasborne in Hillsboro. Met with a licensed colorist to talk about my hair, what I wanted to achieve and picked a color I wanted to try. They even matched me up with a curly hair specialist. I found an ad on Instagram or Facebook for 20% off so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a very clean salon and that offers a few different options. They even offer an unlimited roots membership program to get your root touch up as often as you need a month. If you can't make it in they will mix up your color to take home and you can do it yourself. It was a lovely experience and I would come back here again.
