The apartment units are decent, but the air conditioners frequently fill up with water and become rusty. There were frequent car break-ins (several a month) before I left. I had a negative experience while moving out and I would not recommend!

Do not live here unless you want to be displaced from your apartment after 3 months from move in due to a slow leak that was a pre-existing condition before we moved in. The property management does not care about quality of living rather they just want your money. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money with this place.Nexus is clearly struggling to get real reviews from their residents, look at this comment from one of their employees - a leasing agent who operates the front desk - who is also a resident. It's laughable that they replied ignoring that fact. Nexus is sneaky and clearly trying to hide all of the 1 star reviews about the horrible property management, look out for yourself if you live here. I won't miss the fire alarms going off once a week or at 1am!!

I hated living here. My worst complaint would be that if I got home after 6pm I would have to park ACROSS the entire lot or park on the street due to not having adequate enough parking spaces. It's honestly ridiculous! It was always loud as kids run around screaming at the top of their lungs every day. Anytime It was past 10pm and ANY noise was made from my apartment, the neighbors would call security on us for being "loud" when most of the time we would be cooking or watching tv with a speaker. The management was also very unhelpful. Halfway through my lease they switched companies and it was even worse. It seemed liked every week something disturbing was going on, new painting, and CONSTANT apartment checking. Every couple of weeks someone would come into the apartment. It was insane. Also out carpet at one point started to lift (due to incorrect install) and we tried contacting management to fix it but they were never flexible enough to be able to come when someone was home. That's shady as ever! I would never rent here again!

If you like walking, dancing, seeing, and living in doggie poo then yes. Yes, apply and live in this glorious property where neighboring dogs p**** literally, on the bushes, on top of the bushes, inside the bushes, on the sidewalk, by your car, in the parking lot, everywhere. Just, everywhere. The property itself is wonderfully located, if you do not have pets and etc. then yes. Perfect location. If you have dogs, like we do, then beware this property is SO DIGUSTING your pup will most likely end up with ghiardia. At its worst condition, we had doggie diarrhea everywhere that was inevitable to step into during the rainy season. Talk about communal diseases being spread about. Next, about the fire alarm bell going off. It is from the neighboring complexes. However, before they sold their property and transferred to new ownership they were obnoxious with everything. Sedonia gave less than 24 hour notices on gas leaks in the community, check-ins and alarms going off, as well as the checking of our alarm systems inside our apartment. When we asked for more notice so we can safely remove our pets and not scare them, she told us that it is a privilege to have a pet and not a right. Due to the lack of notification, when I did take my pup out during the fire alarm all of the doors were shut and the hallways were blaring with redlight. It felt like we were in a post-apocalyptic event. But lo and behold, that was not the worst part. Once the doors were shut due to the fire alarms going off, we found out that lazy pet owners have been stashing their doggie poo bags behind the doors. Even when we told Nexus about it, yeah it never got cleaned. DISGUSTING indeed. We have found transients camping out in the grass area. We have seen mentally unstable ppl walk through late at night due to close proximity to the MAX screaming, throwing items, as well as scaring others. Safety measures here are taken pretty casual, at best. Luckily, the community does have generally great people. Minus the dog owners that do not pick up after their dog p**** If you do live here, best of luck. The rent prices were increasing at an insane rate.

As a Nexus resident for close to two years and counting, I strongly feel that the complex is getting a raw deal on this site. This is one of a large number of apartment complexes in the Orenco Station area, and I assume that the main audience for these reviews is people who are moving to this area and deciding between those complexes. Good news for those people: all of the negative reviews about parking and towing are irrelevant to you! If you live here, you can park here, and your friends, with one of the two passes you get, can park here too. When I got a job in Hillsboro, I looked at all the apartments between the Max stop and New Seasons. The first thing I noticed was that Vector and Hub 9 had the highest reviews; the second thing I noticed was that neither apartment is air conditioned. Priorities may vary between residents, but for me, no air conditioning in a city with many 90-plus-degree summer days is an instant deal breaker. Those buildings look pretty, but that's useless to those of us who want to live comfortably in our apartments during summer. Nexus is air conditioned, which moved it to the top of my list. I've been happy with Nexus the entire time I've lived here. The office staff is friendly. The fire alarms you'll read about in the reviews here haven't been a problem in my experience - I have heard them go off in other Nexus buildings (never in my building), but during summer I hear fire alarms go off in the other apartment complexes across the street even more often. The apartments are spacious - they don't have the fancy interior design of a couple other nearby buildings, but when you bring friends over, they'll still say, "Nice place." Rent does increase every time I renew my lease, but this is standard throughout Orenco Station and I don't count it as a negative against Nexus. Among other positives, the maintenance staff regularly responds to requests on weekends, there is valet trash pickup, and the location between the Max and New Seasons is incredible. Above all, I'd advise those shopping for a place to rent in the Orenco area to look beyond the average star rating and look at the specific pros and cons of each place. For me, the decision was easy.

I lived at Nexus for 5 years and loved it for the location, staff professionalism, and well-kept grounds. The location is fantastic due to many grocery stores (New seasons, Winn-Co, and Costco w/i 1 mi), many good restaurants (American, Thai, French, Beer), good access to public transport, and decent access to the interstate. The staff was professional, friendly, and by the book. Our maintenancee issues were taken care of within a day. Jeff and Michelle are friendly and knew our apartment number (and we didn't pick up our packages often). Wish we were there longer to get to know Joe. We had several issues come up in 5 years (two with towing and one with a neighbor). All three were satisfactorily delt with. No issues with moving out (had a $50 charge which was reasonable). I can only think of two downsides. One was that the rent kept going up, but that is every apartment complex in Orenco Station area. Another was that people took the most inopportune times to burn toast resulting in the occasional fire alarm (Avg 1 per year).

First off, everything you heard about the towing is true. If your car doesn't have a guest permit or a sticker, you will be towed. And as a resident, THAT'S A GOOD THING because during the busy times (full occupancy, some folks have multiple cars), for those without paid parking, finding a spot can be challenging. So while it's a pain for some of the reviewers who don't live on the property, it keeps the free parking free for the rest of us. As to the property itself, I lived at Nexus for 1 year. The accommodations are not as high end as Hub9 or Vektor, but they are quite good for the money. Nothing is super fancy, but everything works. I had one of the renovated apartments with granite countertops and better recessed lighting, but overall it was just decent quality stuff -- nothing super special. The good thing is that if something doesn't work, Dennis or Brian will come out and swap any appliances or fixtures that are broken. While Nexus doesn't have the most extravagant gym or pool, it's balanced by the central park -- which is great if you have a dog, have kids, or if you want to lounge around/picnic in the warm weather. The location is a bit more centrally located overall in the scheme of all of the Orenco Station apartments. You are close to New Seasons, you are close to the MAX station. The staff for the most part is professional and nice. They take my deliveries, they answer the phone when I call them, they put out donuts on Friday/Saturday mornings. I never had any issues with any of the staff members. They can be sometimes handcuffed by their corporate policies (some statements they gave me during move in and move out me are clearly boiler plate legalese), but I had a perfectly fine experience with the staff. If I were moving into the area, I would choose Nexus again.

Reposting because Nexus had Yelp remove my below review, claiming I was not a customer... when in fact I have toured this facility in the past. Which is why I have the insight of the leasing staff. So buyer beware they do try to moderate their public reviews!!!! ------------- If I could give Nexus Apartments zero stars I would. The leasing office staff is useless, condescending, and overall terrible. They need a full staff sweep out to get that place to be halfway decent. They also have some sort of business arrangement with a local towing company 5 miles down the road called Titus Towing, where they have a small, hardly visibly marked parking section in front of the leasing office that the staff call or have the towing people lurking. Many residents, they're visitors, and surrounding community members that use the business in the center get their cars towed after a mere 10-15 minutes. Mind you, these are not individual resident parking spots, so it's most certainly the Nexus staff being spiteful and vengeful by calling Titan Towing at any opportunity. Very sketchy and predatory business, and would not recommend anyone tour or consider this apartment. Go literally around any of the corners to any other apartment.

I would give 0 star if possible. All was good but went bad when we were moving out. They charged us for food smell in our house which we being Asian, felt too discriminatory to us. If i rent a house, am i not allowed to cook ?? There is a small window in the living room which does not provides any cross ventilation for the kitchen. We cleaned the house very well before moving out. A week before we moved out we had an inspection from the staff and they did not complain about any sort of food smell. But soon after we moved out, they sent us a huge bill saying they needed to freshen the air inside. Threatening not paying would affect our credit report everytime. Only one staff member Jeff, was good there who was on a long leave when we left so we had no one who would talk politely to us. The staff is really rude and they dont know how to interact with people.

I'm so happy to be moving away from this terrible place soon! I'm at my wits end with them. Management changed last year and since then we have been treated terribly. Fire alarms have gone off in the middle of the night (I understand this can happen anywhere but it's literally never addressed in any way). They have attempted to tow my car *without any warning or discussion* when I have parked in accordance with all of the rules outlined in my lease. Today they shut off my water with a 10 minute warning that I did not receive. I called the leasing office to speak to someone to try and figure out what's happening and the woman I spoke with was rude and condescending and didn't consider my water being shut off without warning to be an issue. They have a habit of showing a high amount of disrespect. They don't consider pets, work schedules, or any other factors when conducting *extremely frequent* "maintenance" that requires you to be home unless you're comfortable with people entering your home without you there. They are inflexible and rude every time I have attempted to find a solution with them. Since we've moved in, our rent has increased hundreds of dollars. They put on a good show and make themselves very appealing to new residents. Once you sign your lease you will be treated with disrespect. I'm so happy to finally be getting out. This used to be a good place to live and I regret that changes in management have escalated to a point where I can't deal with living in this mess anymore.

This review isn't about the living arrangement.. but it is about the parking. So I don't live here at Nexus but I ran into a friends house to grab some things and came out and my car was towed!!!! There wasn't any markings in the parking stall only a sign about 50 yards away and I got towed!!! Only to run inside to grab something ... and someone called the towing company to take my car after it was only parked literally 15 minutes! Where is the visitor parking to park 15 minutes!!! I want Nexus to pay me the $350 back for the mis-marked parking spot!! They need to mark the spots saying residents only or visitors. There doesn't seem to be any visitor parking, and although it says in the sign when you enter the parking lot.. but how am I supposed to read that in the dark while driving.
