My husband and I had henna for our wedding and we really enjoyed our experience with Sushmita. She is very flexible with timing and willing to come back for touch ups or additional henna. She is super creative. We are having a 1 year wedding anniversary party and are so excited to work with her again.

I had my wedding henna done by Sushmita Poddar and it was masterfully done! Her artistry is unmatched, so meticulous and sincere. I also had a bridal facial done and it left my skin glowing for the big day. Her products worked well with my sensitive skin!

She was nice, but gave me a very poor henna tattoo at the Night Market. She told me during the process that “the henna has a mind of its own” so she couldn’t do fine lines, despite doing some very intricate work on my cousin right before me. Mine is a gloopy mess that I wish I could get to fade quicker.
Update: Seeing the owner try to discredit any critical review tells a lot. The work speaks for itself. I watched her do a very good job on my cousin right before me, so I’m not saying she is incapable. If I had known mine would look like this the next day I absolutely would have wiped it off. And no, I was not clammy and I did not sample any lotions or the like at the market.

Sushmita, the owner, has lovely taste and curates all clothing and items in her shop from her travels and connections afar in India. Ethically sourced and often custom made, Amrapali has a wide variety of products that will appeal to those who are pursuing a rare combination of an off-the-beaten-path couture with authentic Indian flair and aesthetic. Prices are not inexpensive necessarily, nor should they be for the due diligence in the curation process. The boutique is cozy and the staff is warm and accommodating. Definitely worth checking out if you desire Indian couture and accessories. It's a local business, and definitely worthy of support and patronage.

Sushi is a person who know her job well. Today, for the first time, i went there for my eyebrow and neck and she spent a lot of time and I was super happy of the result.

My friend bought me a dress from here for deepavali. Obviously he asked if I could exchange for something else if I did not like the color to which she agreed. As there is no concept of gift receipt in indian stores. It was a saturday and tuesday I went in to look for something else and she said pretty much I can only get the other color of the same dress which was also not very good. So I ended up returning with the one he got and I hate the style and color. So good luck for anyone who is trying to buy here and waste money. I told my friend to never return there. Lost a customer. This was a little more than 350 dollars!!!!!!!

The price was bit steep ($80) but i thought it would be worth it but no. First, the facial is done in a "room" in a warehouse" but that "room " is not closed off at top, so it was extremely chilly. Secondly, there was a quick cleansing with little massage, followed by scrub using a facial brush, 10 min of steaming, blackhead extraction only on nose and then mask. There was no massage with face cream, no inspection of other areas of face, over 50% of the time was spent in steam and waiting on mask. And yes, other reviews are right, too much time spent in talking. I came back after 2 years , thinking it might have changed, since this was close to my house, but no.... same issues exist. My face doesn't even have the glow I normally see after facial.Definitely not worth it, atleast for facial. Not going back.

This is my go to place for relaxation. Sushmita is skilled in the art of facials. I’ve always been happy with her attention & care towards my skin , & the quality of skincare products she uses. She is an exceptional henna artist. Sushmita uses only organic henna & I find myself relaxing while she draws intricate patterns on my hands. The color of Sushmita’s designs seem to stay on the longest on my hands.
