No reliable customer service. I won an auction storage unit and they did not let me take it because a safe in there when the description did not say anything about it.

I had a unit for over 8 years and the price increased quite a bit in that time. In fact, it almost doubled. Also, since I moved out 2 days after rent was taken out, I was not able to get any of that money back. This wasn’t a lease and it was only TWO days. So I ended up paying $188 for 2 days worth of storage.
To all those looking for storage: look out for consistent rent increases and don’t expect to get any money back if you move out early. Even if it is just TWO days after paying!
Edit: I was charged on the 5th and after calling the number listed in the reply, my month starts on the 6th so I cancelled my space ONE DAY after and am having to pay a full month of service! Talk about double dipping. The person I spoke with said that they couldn’t do anything about it so thank you for wasting my time. If you really are wanting to make this right, please provide me with the right number to call.
Final Edit:
The District Manager called to tell me that he understood my situation and had issued a refund. Around the same time, I received an email from the Hillsboro Storquest with an attached receipt verifying the refund. I was told it would take 3-5 business days and I received it in 4.
My recommendation to everyone is that a potential refund would be on a case-by-case basis. I could have done a better job communicating with the management on location. I left the review at 4 stars because while they responded positively to my situation, this will happen to other people. This isn’t a lease situation where you need to pay regardless when moving out. It is a month-to-month and should be treated as such by giving prorated refunds.
A big shoutout to the District Manager and the local management for helping and going ahead with the refund.

I think his name was Ian who helped us. Seemed very confusing and difficult to talk to. Three stars cause the facility and other staff seemed nice enough with reasonable pricing.
