“The store is worth the stop if you love vintage turquoise jewelry, rock hounding, historical artifacts, native artifacts and pieces. So much to look at and Dan the owner is such a historian, rock hound and lapidary, and wealth of knowledge. The home the store is in was built in the early 1900s by a doctor and Dan and his wife have restored it and kept the original operating room sinks intact. Definitely stop, take pictures, talk with Dan (his wife suffers from dementia and he is primary care taker of the business and her) so please support this local awesome business”

“Jims antiques is the best kept secret in Canyon City. Google maps is wrong about the pin location. Jim's antiques is down the hill and to the right. The pin is set on a red church at the top of the hill. That church and most of the street is owned by a property investor that told us Jim was weird. She said he stood to close to you when he talked to you. She also said his shop was a sh!t hole. Luckily we ignored her advice and checked it out anyway. Turns out jim is a national treasure. We came for the antiques and stayed for his stories and sense of humor. Turns out he stands "too close" to you because hes lost most of his hearing and eyes sight. His shop has been there since the seventies. Long live Jim's antiques and I hope his remaining years open flush the property value of the whole block that lady owns. Shame on her.”
