It's got produce, which for a small town is a plus. Also the only thing open after 9pm

Starting June 19, 2023 Under Oregon Law and ODA prohibits all animals in grocery stores or restaurants and other food establishments .. I gave this info to them a few wks ago as my Service Dog, in their store, was charged by another dog, unvested, unleashed, ..who whirled around, snapping, barking and running to attack Finn... the store did right the asked the person who had the dog if it was a SD.. she said it was but the vest was in the mail. A Service Dog can not attack other dogs, can not lunge, bark..etc.. must be under control and behave. So today another "pet" was in the store.. The manager was called and she stated she would handle it. Five minutes later NOT handled.. I will be calling the owner or District Manger..

Who ever is supposed to open on Sundays never gets there on time. Went yesterday at 8:45 AM and the store wasn't open. Very frustrating. If the hours have changed then it needs to be posted.

When someone that works there and is very sick, the manager should let them stay home to get well. Your people are not robots. Not only that but your customers will also get sick. All about the ?Good job MANAGER!

I give the stor itself a 3 only because they are understaffed and can not seem to get the workers they need, the workers they do have are always polite, chearful and helpful. I give the the company a 1 star because I know several people that applied there and it took the company over 2 months to get the background checks done so they could go to work. The company even lost some of the aplications. The aisles are all filled with fraight that has not been put on the shelves yet the shelves are empty of mostly the food items, because we only have one grocery store in this town and it is expensive, and they don't have any place to put the freight except in the aisles. A definate flaw in the design. I guess all stores have this issue because they are all the same design.

Went to store and with all the empty shelves and carts in the walkways was definitely NOT wheelchair accessible-which is illegal! Asked why it was so messy and was told it always is. When I asked why all the empty shelves was told the workers get first crack at everything then whatever is left is put on the shelf! What??? Need some new management and limit on amounts sold so maybe everyone can buy an item Not just the workers. Rude

I'm at a loss as to where the root of the problem REALLY IS, with our little John Day, Oregon store..Is it corporate? Is it regional management? Is it REALLY store management? Is it employees? So many are truly affected, your customers, employees and your vendors, and the problems are not new. This location has had problems for quite a few months now. Hopefully Grant County will see a resolution very soon.

I am livid. In my opinion the incompetent running of this establishment is criminal. From day one.. a month of no pay, then insinuation of being a lier when questioning the situation, then discovering it was the store managers lazy incompetence from the beginning , then retaliatory behaviors from said management for taking it to her supervisor, and then said management and half the crew abandon their jobs mid shift and walk off the job. Now these person's are back on staff. Another employee tested positive for COVID and chose to be responsible and stay at home, unable to reach a manager or staff member on the stores long term non functioning phone line is terminated !?!? This seems like grounds for a wrongful termination legal action in my book. This Mickey Mouse mess of a business has been nothing but one desaster after another of lazy incompetence and retaliation against it's employees. Caution to anyone doing business at this store and heaven help you if you choose to hire on with this establishment. Be prepared to get jerked around continually.

It's a waste of time to go in there to browse the empty shelves while the employees stand around shooting the breeze if I want to shop for nothing that's the spot.

In my experience and opinion the store manager is an unprofessional, managerially incompetent, and socially inept idevidual who is running this store right out of employees and patrons. The high turn over rate of employees speaks for itself as to the inner workings.. or lack there of..again a store manager issue. I would suggest, a new store manager with some interpersonal skillsand business knowledge...

We are happy to have a place to shop that has affordable groceries and a good variety of merchandise reasonably priced. I shop for my groceries there before I go to the grocery store to get what the dollar store didn't have. I usually don't have to get much.

The lady that manages this store is always rude and unprofessional. The aisles are always cluttered & everybody stands around gossiping instead of working, especially Katie. The place looks dirty and dingy, and it's only been open a year! This place will never get my business again!

Some of the employee's are great and others not so much. If a shopper declines your help don't be pushy when declined. Pushing your unwanted help is condescending and belittling.. If a person declines to use a cashier and is waiting on another..you are NOT entitled to an explanation..so don't flip ugliness onto the shopper....and please educated yourselves on ADA..

Everything was great except the WiFi. Spotty, slow, and at times just plain not working.I depend on WiFi for service since I don't have a cell service in John Day. If I want to get ahold of my family to double check what they need at home I simply can't. Or if I want to check the internet for information about something while shopping for items, groceries I would be out of luck.
