My 86 year old aunt took her dog in and her dog was diagnosed with a heart condition. We returned for further tests and were given 3 prescriptions for her to take. It was 2 days later we noticed the labels on 2 of prescriptions were the same medicine same dose. WTH? I immediately called there office! It turns out they mislabeled one medicine. Are you kidding me? A heart medicine. The dosage and name of medicine were completely incorrect on label Needless to say, they have completely lost all of our trust and we will not be returning. Thankfully my aunts dog is ok. But this is quite negligent and I thought petowners should know.

I have been using West Ridge animal hospital for over 15 years, I had to take my cat Blackie in even though I had no appointment they still took her. Why (Money) They charged me $750 dollars to do blood work only to tell me she had cancer and would only live maybe a month. Erin the vet who looked at her was especially nice and did explain the charges. I love my animals and have no problem with the cost or the fact it did not turn out well. Thanks, Erin, for a job well done. Now two months later I take my new kitten Cali in for spay and vaccination. I took in a voucher from the humane society that cost me $30 and West ridge would only honor $30. What a waste of time. I set up an appointment which was over 20 days out so on the 5th of Dec I arrived with Cali at 8:45 am. Everyone in there was new to me and they were all trying to help each other figure out their computer system. One of the lady's finally asked if I could help you. I said yes, I am here for my appointment for Cali. Dear in the headlight state. Then she again goes to help the other lady on the computer. After several minutes she got back to me and proceeded to tell me all the things that a responsible pet owner would do and presented me paperwork to check the items yes or no. One of the items was blood work before doing anything (remember the last $750 dollar charge) .I said no then they asked about a cone, or a body wrap again not cheap. I chose the body wrap because the vet recommended it since cats do not do well with cones. When I finally picked up Cali, she had a cone. I was told they were out of body wraps. Cone was over $20, and Cali had it torn off before I left the parking lot. Again, something I did not want. I was told they would call me when Cali was ready to go home sometime around 3:00 pm. by 4:00 Pm I went back to the office with the same deer in the headlight stare. Can I help you? I counted to ten and said yes is Cali done? She said let me go check and she comes back and tells me Cali is still in recovery. Umm 30 min operation 7 hours later why the hell did I bring Cali in at 8:45. So I said OK, went back out to my truck and waited. Finally, just before their closing time I went back in and the first thing the lady told me was for an additional 1 $15 I could leave Cali overnight; I said no thank you I will wait. When the Vet (Will)again never saw him before came out he told me Cali had a weird face and her eyes went like a copper color and her heartbeat went really fast, but she was ok and came through the operation (Spay) ok. Then he too started telling me he would like me to let him do blood work. Now this is a very healthy 5-month-old kitten. Conclusion I paid the bill $186.00 thanked them and said so where is Cali? They told me one second, we will go get her. Ten minutes later both ladies are shooting the breeze with each other, and the Vet (Will) comes back again. I asked do you want to bring me Cali. By now because I am 74 and have been told not to drive at night it's dark out, starting to get foggy and the roads are freezing again (black ice) I had to really control myself to stay calm. Well instead of Will going to get Cali another man came in and Will started a conversation with him after several mins at the top of my voice a yelled hey are you going to go get my cat or what. Will turned and went and got Cali. After starting out I stopped, turned and told them that after spending over $1000 dollars in two months and being a customer of their overpriced business, I would not be back and that I would tell everyone I know there only there for the money they could care less about your pet. My suggestion: find someone else even if you have to go to Medford. I might also add I was only told the bill was $186.00 I never got a receipt or an itemized bill. Ummm. I paid with a credit card, so I had a receipt but not itemized.

I first went here about two years ago when they squeezed my cat in for an emergency slot. I was really appreciative of them then and they had been great since. However, last week I came home to a very sick cat that had vomited blood. We called the vet right away and they were still for another 30 mins. We asked if there was any way they could see us and the person on the phone laughed and said no that we would have to go to the animal hospital in Medford and they added they wouldn't have any appointments for the rest of the week. I have great reviews to make about the Medford animal hospital however I am sad to say I will have to find a new vet in town.

We have been clients of West Ridge Animal Hospital for close to 10 years and have always loved Dr. McIinnis. I understand that he sold his clinic but continues to work there. While I was not a fan of some of the changes made, we continued to bring our animals there because of our long standing relationship with Dr. McIinnis. This Friday, our 9 year old dog, whom they have seen since she was a puppy, had an accident, was bleeding with a large laceration and needed to be seen on an emergency basis. When we called to try to bring her in, we were told that they could not see her but could get her in "next week sometime". Obviously this was not something that could wait for days and nothing I said changed their minds about seeing her. We will never allow this clinic to treat our animals again. I prefer a clinic that actually cares about the welfare of the animals they treat. An emergency is just that - an emergency. Accommodations need to be made when they occur. If you can't do that in a veterinary office you need to find another profession. As you can see from the photo, we finally found a vet that took care of our girl. They were willing to stay after hours to make sure she was taken care of. Something her regular vet should have done. (Klamath Animal Clinic sutured her up)

I have brought my fur babies to this vet for more than 10 years, and I was sadly disappointed when they refused to prescribe medicine Bonnie (lab). I am in a wheelchair and lift in my truck was broke. I had no way to get Bonnie to the vet. She has allergies and is on a special food for them, this vet is who put her on it. She has had several ear infections and we were told that she might still get another one after being put on the special diet. Well she got another one, and I have a broken vehicle. I called the vet and explained everything. They only wanted to give her an ear flush. They never asked to see a picture of her ear or what her symptoms were. I will be finding a vet that cares a little more for my fur babies.

I have taken my 4 Shih Tzus to this place for 16 years. My 15.5 year old dog was suffering badly and needed to be euthanized, but they were too busy to fit him into their schedule. Used to love this place, now I'm extremely disappointed. They now seem to be more interested in building their 'empire' than providing compassionate care to their patients.

I am very grateful to the clinic for finding out what was wrong with my beautiful little dog. They were kind and understanding. She wasn't eating anything and was losing weight rapidly. Dr Erin was very concerned and tested her blood and took an exray. We saw gallstones and after trying antibiotics with no results. I called her late on Friday evening to have the gallbladder removed. Dr.Erin called me with an emergency surgery scheduled for Saturday morning. Unfortunately, my baby had stomach cancer and we had to put her down that afternoon. This was a terrible situation but I felt better knowing the Dr. truly cared about my special Patty. I thank Dr.Erin for everything she did for us.
