We took our Volkswagen beetle in 3 weeks ago and the owner said they would get on it the next week. Checked in 2 weeks nothing. Went on today 3weeks only to find out not only had they not ordered parts someone had been living in it right outside their front door. The c drivers window needed replaced so we had black plastic over it. Now was a yellow sheet hanging over the door and there was clothes, food, junk all over the floors, toilet paper a can of half eaten beans in the cup holder and garlic cloves all over. The owner of business said well I didn't notice anyone. Duh. You walked by it every day. We brought it home not fixed and smelling so bad we have to have it detailed. Horrible service wouldn't take my dog there.

PowerHouse Automotive was seriously an answer to prayers for us. My son and I were headed to Utah to spend time with my 89 year old parents. Gratefully we were at the gas station when our car wouldn't start. We called a AAA and the tow truck was there with in 10 minutes. We also called powerhouse and the owner, Hans was kind enough to stop by the gas station and look at it. When we got to his shop he discovered that our starter was out. He also noticed a ton of coolant had spilled over. He got a new cap for us and ordered 2 starters just in case so that we could hurry on our way. They next day Dustin, another worker came in early at 8 am when they are normally closed on Saturday and it was also Labor Day Weekend and very quickly fixed the car. We were on our way again by 9:30 am. It is so refreshing to know that there are kind, honest and hard working people out there that will help you out when you are in need. Also--I have to thank God as well- we could have been stranded in the middle of no where- couldn't have found a part until after Labor Day and also not have found any shop that would help us. My message is expect MIRACLES EVERYDAY and today PowerHouse Automotive was our miracle.

The owner **** lied and deceived me threw out my whole experience there. he lied from start to finish, i took two engines in to have rebuilt 1 and a half years later i was forced to pick them up incomplete. Not only did he over charge me but a $1000.00 deposit never made it in the final bill. in-addition, when ******* to install parts he stated a problem on gap clearance on rod bearings. when dealing with the crank he stated a damage crank that he polished the ****** out, something that many machine shops said needed to be machined not polished. my 6 cylinder had several things that weren't done the 8 cylinder never made it to a short block. also, received missing parts in the mail. i asked for verification on parts installed and he refused. This is a over view of what happened, i visited his shop many times thinking i was going to pickup my engines just to find nothing done with lies of progress. original agreement, 6cyl 6 months 8cyl 3 weeks during a visit there caught him trying to ***** rig someones transmission. striped out case from one-way bearing wanted to put an after market part from a different application in it and drilling the case to make it fit.

I fear the ramifications for posting a review while my car is still in the shop, and I may come out with a different rating afterwards, but to date, but here is my story:My car had an appointment to be seen on December 1, but was towed instead on November 29th with a torn timing belt. 43 days later and weekly calls to check on the progress, and the car has not been fixed. 43 days! Each call I make seems promising that it will be worked on that week (squeaky wheel gets the grease), and often I am told "end of the week is feasible", but then another week goes by with no or little progress.I am frustrated at the delay and feel helpless in this situation. Who is prepared for having their transportation in the shop for 6+ weeks? Powerhouse Automotive does not have the staff to complete jobs in a timely manner.Service: Engine repair

Used Hans and Dustin to repair previous rebuild done poorly. Also various issues relating to drivability were addressed. Excellent quality of work , care taken to ensure no damage to new body and paint and improvement to general operation of 53 year old car addressed. Time frame a bit long (this car not daily driver) due to the amount of work coming through shop. After several months though all work completed to satisfaction. Dustin very experienced mechanic, I would use again.Services: Engine repair

A friend and I were passing through Oregon on New Years Eve when I-84 shut down due to police activity. AKA, it was going to be a while and we couldn’t drive through the mountains in the dark on icy roads. Great, just what we needed. To top it off, my check engine light starts flashing at me. A misfire. So we’re stuck in the snow in La Grande on New Years Eve and my check engine light is flashing. We called two other places with no answer and then Powerhouse came through. I’m crying to this man saying the check engine light is on and we can’t afford to get stuck when there’s another big snowstorm on the way.The owner said he could take a look at it and if it was a spark plug issue then he could probably get it taken care of. At 3:00pm on New Years Eve. Everyone there was very nice and super helpful, and a couple days later everything is still completely fixed (so no cheap mechanics doing a temporary fix). I highly recommend them ✅✅Services: Electrical

Hans and the Powrehouse team saved me when I experienced some trouble coming through the area. They were able to work me in while very busy and addressed my issue quickly and fairly. Hans was very thorough in his analysis to be sure he had the problem fixed and showed me a lot of compassion & fairness through the process, with great communication. Thank you to Hans and the team, I highly recommend Powerhouse for service in Le Grande.

Hans offers quality work with the reassurance of also being a genuine and compassionate human. His customer service is above and beyond any mechanic I’ve ever experienced. I would drive 7hrs to have him diagnose and treat my car. The best in the business!
